Beth (k9odyssey) Who is reading I Robot? I read it last year and loved it. Some of the stories are a bit dated but others were gripping. I really liked the common thread of the laws and how they fit into each of the short stories.

George P. I read "I, Robot" two years ago. So, it's not fresh in my memory. My rating of it was 4 stars so I really liked it. I give half stars in my own notes, but gave it an even four. There is some basic computer and AI (artificial intelligence) before it was called that, science in them that was fairly foresighted. Asimov was also very good at creating characters that were relatable, protagonists that you found yourself pulling for. I recall that the last one, about the robot who wanted to be a person, was a favorite.

Janet | 18 comments I am 2/3 of the way through it now. Got a slow start because the used copy I ordered turned out to be a revised version for English language learners. I finally found a copy in a used book shop.
Interesting so far and growing on me. Some of the characters do annoy me...

Janet | 18 comments I finished it last week. Didn't anyone else read it? It was pretty interesting though some of the characters were annoying to me. I thought the end was pretty clever. I chuckled at some of the ideas Asimov had about what our world would be like around 2040 I think. Population much less than now, etc.

Beth (k9odyssey) I loved the robot rules and the interesting ways he integrated them into each story....the unexpected challenges/glitches. My favorite story was "Runaround".
