Thanks, Anita. Your matter-of-fact statement of finding Paul on the handbrake was the funniest thing I've read for ages!

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I've been sat laughing my Head off at my Neighbour from across the Road! ;o>

I was topping up the Water in a couple of Vases of Flowers when I looked up and out of the Front Window just in time to see my Neighbour's huge hairy woofer run up the Road from the direction of the main Road - and then, after a quick snuffle around his Home's shut Front Gate, he upped and ambled off around the corner of our (dead-end) Road in the direction of the open and accessible Driveway at the back of the House.

They have a 7 foot solid Wood Gate that opens up to lead to a small short path to their Front Door and the Front Garden which is surrounded by an 8 foot Hedge.

I was just reaching for the Phone to call the Neighbours to tell them that he was out and on his own when his owner, Nick, came racing up the Road and stopped bent-over puffing and panting in front of his Gate looking quite panic-stricken. Before I could knock on the Window though, to point to where his huge hairy woofer had wandered off to, he unlocked the Front Gate and promptly disappeared from view inside his Front Garden.

As he did this, the huge Hound ambled back around the corner of the Road and House, sniffed hopefully at the shut Gate again, then obviously sensing Nick, he got all excited, barked and raced off back round the corner once more just as Nick threw the Gate open and shot out into the Road looking all around for him!!!

I was laughing so much at this point at all of their frantic antics that I couldn't pull myself enough to knock on the Window and try to help point them towards finding each other! And, as funny as it was already, it wasn't over yet! ... as Nick's wife then came running up the Road closely followed by the two Boys and they were all yelling for Nick and the hairy woofer as they ran straight past the Front Gate and round the corner to the back just as Nick once again opened the Front Gate and rushed out only to find himself on an empty Road yet again!!!

This time he left the Front Gate ajar and happened to look up and across at me. l pointed indicating the back of the House, he smiled and nodded, and instead of going back in he ran off around the corner of the Road to the back Driveway ... just as his Wife looked out on the Road from around the Front Gate and then shut it again ... and Nick came back round, shrugging his Shoulders at me, and pushed at the Gate only to find it locked from the inside!!! - LOL!!! ;o>

He banged on the Gate, his Wife opened it, he went in, and they had just closed it as ... Yep! - you've guessed it! ... the huge hairy Hound came racing back around the corner from wherever he had been (probably to visit the friendly Rabbit in the Hutch who lives next-door to them) and he sat down looking utterly confused and completely lost and dejected in front of the Front Gate.

I had made it to our own Front Door and just managed to open it when he suddenly threw back his Head and gave out such a long and extremely loud heart-felt Howl. And it was SO unbearably pitiful a sound that it almost brought tears to the Eyes, bless 'im!

The Front Gate shot open and this time everyone piled out and they all threw themselves on their Hound all exclaiming at once before leading him back in and shutting the Gate behind them!

All in all, it must have been one of their very best woofer walks ever!!! ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Nick told my Mum that while they were all at a local Park his youngest Son shouted over to his Mum ... "Can we have Biscuits when we get Home?" ... and she replied ... "Maybe, if we go Home soon" ... and with that the hungry Hound pulled her over, she let go of his Lead, and he was off racing them back Home!!! ;o>

We also can't ask each other questions starting off with ... "Do you want?" or "Would you like?" ... or say words like "Biscuits" in front of our two either! - LOL!!!

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Well, I did try to go to Bed! ... but my Dad had us up and down all night long, so I gave up in the end, and spent a couple of hours on the Sofa with Moo and Tee insisting on joining me - by jamming themselves into the small of my Back and the back of my Knees!

I could hardly move at all first thing this morning - although I'm slowly starting to ease up and become a bit more flexible now ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Bacon Butties for Breakfast ... Yummy!!! ;o>

A dull damp dreary-grey day again here - it really does make me appreciate all the more just how fortunate we were with the fantastically warm, bright, light and dry days of Spring.

I never much like Summer anyway - so roll on Autumn! ;o>

message 4915: by [deleted user] (new)

Breakfast??
Breakfast is about ten hours away so you've still got enough time to send a couple of bacon butties this way, and I expect them to be hot when they get here :)

We had mince and mash for dinner - trying to run the freezer down ready for it going to its' new home next week. Not a lot left in it now, just some chicken breasts, a bit of fish, some chips and a bag of peas.

Nearly cried when I reserved a truck for moving day - £160 to hire it for the day plus fuel. Step-son is going to have to put his hand in his pocket too!

I really, really want a bacon butty now ..... thanks suzy :)

(Gonna have to be BLT in my pack-up tonight)

message 4918: by [deleted user] (new)

I am now a very grumpy Grump - my Tesco delivery, which I ordered to save me going five miles in the wrong direction after work before going home, has just arrived. Only one item has not been delivered or even substituted - the fillet steak that I wanted to go with salad for dinner tomorrow!
It's not as if our area is covered by a small store - it comes from the large store in Peterborough which is supposed to have a greater range of products than the smaller stores and they have have at least six deliveries a day of fresh and frozen (if anyone should know that it's me!) so how can they not have any fillet steak?
I'm going to have to go somewhere tomorrow after work, which defeats the purpose of having shopping delivered. Either that or I defrost more chicken :)

Thanks for pointing this out, Suzie. I had a different one from somewhere recently - Platform 9 3/4 design, but quite substantial as opposed to a tote. Can't remember who it was, now. I'll keep my eyes peeled next time I go in to a £land.

GCSE invigilation finished today with Polish Writing - whoopee! Boy, has it been an exhausting few weeks. Internal exams start next.

But I want one RIGHT NOW! - LOL!!! ;o>

I might actually get to pick one up on Friday AND one of those White ones AND a Fruit & Nut one as well (as I've still not had the chance yet to try those out) - as I have got a Clinic Appointment first thing in the morning at a Surgery that is quite near to one of my favourite Shopping areas.

If I can just persuade my Mum to find the time to just let me have a hour or two there then I can get to go to Poundland ... Oooh? - and Wilko ... and B&M and Home Bargains ... and Asda and Iceland ... and I might even get to find and stock up on some nice Cards from the Card Shops there as well! - YAYYY!!! ;o>

It doesn't say if they are on a limited offer but they do tend to follow trends by changing themes on things like these Bags - so I wouldn't leave it too long, P, if I were you.

I imagine all the Kids will be after them as well and quite a folk on Facebook were talking about buying several to set aside as Stocking Fillers for Christmas - so it could be a case of snatch and grab 'em while you can?!! ;o>

WoW?! - Polish Writing?! - that sounds both fascinating and challenging!

don't get your hopes up, they're a bit 'meh', disnae really work with the almonds and nougaty bits along with the honeycomb (small) chunks in the same bar - i'd give it 4/10. the fruit and nut ones are far nicer.

message 4942: by [deleted user] (new)

I had intended doing the shopping today after work but I couldn't be bothered to traipse around three or four different shops, being as I didn't finish work until half past two.
The annoying part was being back in the depot by 13:45, truck fuelled up, trailer parked on a bay and logged off the truck in ten minutes flat. I then had to show a fifteen minute tacho break to keep legal with the Working time Directive and, as Tesco work everything tacho related in 15 minute blocks, had to wait until half past two before clocking out. I hate sitting around at the best of times, let alone at the end of a thirteen hour shift.

Ah well, at least we get paid for every hour worked :)

Really? - what an odd mix? I was thinking that the Honeycomb Crisp would probably be just like a Crunchie Bar - so that's definitely worth knowing, thanks tech ... x

I think maybe the reality of it is that I want them far more because I've waited SO long to get to go out Shopping again ... it's been six WHOLE months! - and it may not happen yet although I am hoping that it will and am currently making out lists and plans so that I can be ready ;o>

message 4945: by Martin (new)

Martin O' | 2196 comments Not that I recall Suzy but in my previous job we used to have an hour lunch break (compulsory). Half an hour was quite long enough to have something to eat and a drink so staying awake for an other thirty minutes was nearly impossible. Tried reading, crossword books, listening to music through headphones but eventually the eyes would shut and the head would sag only to be jolted back with a sudden jerk. Most annoying, especially if you were in the middle of a good dream!

Sorry about the delay replying - I fell asleep! :)

I'm not sure about drivers falling asleep while waiting to clock off - most of them are clock watching for that moment that they can clock off and go.
I sat and watched. amazed, as another driver who starts at the same time as me came in last night, clocked in, sat down and promptly nodded off!
