suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ahhh, the simple pleasures of life ... most of my jobs for today done, Sofa time with my Feet up, a Mug of Tea and a lightly buttered and toasted Tea Cake, a little hairy woofer snuggled up on each side of me, and a couple of episodes of 'Pingu' on the TV ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments The Postman has just brought me a lovely Letter from my Polish friend! - the lovely Girl who I went out Shopping with just before Christmas ;o>

It's been several months now since I last heard anything of her and so I wasn't really expecting to hear from her ever again. She gave her and her Husband's move to the UK her best shot but it was obvious that she was struggling with homesickness, and in not knowing anyone over here, and not being able to understand or speak more than just a couple of words of English didn't help much either.

Her Husband had worked his way up to doing very well as a Builder over here and is a genuine Craftsman who takes real pride in his work - and the dream was to buy a place of their own, rather than to keep on moving and living in turn in each of the Houses that he had bought to do up and sell on.

However, news came at New Year that her Mum had taken ill (thankfully with nothing too serious) and she came over to say Goodbye to me before heading off to the Airport. I had a feeling that she probably wouldn't be coming back once she got back to her old family Home and it turned out I was right. A couple of months later her Husband came round to tell us he had finished and sold the House in our Road and that he was now off back to Poland as well.

He said they enjoyed trying out life over here in the UK for the most part but they are both very loving and dutiful children who are touchingly devoted to their Parents and neither of them could quite manage to get past keeping on with missing them terribly.

It isn't easy to read the Letter but they have enclosed lots of Photos and turns out that they have now bought a couple of Restaurants, turned them into extended family businesses with their Brothers and Sisters, and are continuing to do very well for themselves ;o>

It was so kind of them both to still remember me and to take the time and effort to write and let me know how they are and what they are doing now. They both look SO happy to be back there ;o>

Didn't get home in time to do a breakfast tray, but dinner (just gone into the oven) is jumbo breaded cod, gastro chips and mushy peas and possibly some bread and butter on the side :)

message 4771: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Okay, I'll let you off Breakfast as I wasn't here anyway - LOL!!!

Can I have Tomato Ketchup with my Chips please? ;o>

Phoebe kindly gave me this Catnip Toy to chew on but it's left an awful taste in my Mouth!

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I'm not sure if you fell asleep on me or I fell asleep on you? ... but I woke up still hungry, with no Dinner Tray, and to an empty House as well!

Luckily, it was because M&D had gone off out to the Shops, and they decided to bring back Puddin 'n' Chips for us all ;o>

Val H. | 22188 comments Well it's 1.00am here on June 8 so I can legitimately be the first cab off the rank in wishing Suzy a very happy birthday. i did send a card - and I thought in plenty time - but it looks like it might be lost somewhere in the wild blue yonder. Sorry if it has gone astray, but I'm wishing you lots and lots of cake for your special day.

message 4774: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Jun 07, 2019 08:42AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ohhh WoW?!! - thanks Val! ... I may possibly have Post that I don't know about yet? - LOL!!!

I was on my way to the Front Door this morning when I was suddenly overtaken by my Mum who (and you'll just love this! actually told me to ... "STOP! WAIT! - SIT AND STAY!" ... before I reminded her that I wasn't Tia or Mitzi but her Daughter! ... HA HA HA HA HA!!! ;o>

She grabbed the Post and then took off with it so I've no idea what it was? I rarely get anything through the Post that isn't something I've ordered so it could be something for me that she is hiding until tomorrow. I dunno? - 51 years old tomorrow and my own Mum STILL doesn't trust me not to open any early Birthday Cards?!! - LOL!!! ;o>

Blame goes to me - after dinner I went to bed for a couple of hours, cancelled the alarm when it went off and stayed in bed until just after 5 A.M.!

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ohhh thank you all SO very much for making my Birthday this year even bigger and better than my last one?!! I genuinely consider myself to be so blessed to have 'met' and got to know each and every one of you as fondly as I do now ... x x x

We've just spent the morning here enjoying rounds of Bacon Butties, all snuggled up with our adorable little hairy woofers, whilst watching our Queenie on the TV overseeing a full ceremonial parade all in my honour! - LOL!!! ;o>

message 4783: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I can't quite believe that my precious little love, Tia, is still here and with me today?!!

Getting to cuddle and snuggle with her on the Sofa has made my day complete ;o>

message 4784: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments She's completely worn herself out now what with being so busy earlier - divebombing on and then enthusiastically 'killing' some large screwed-up Envelopes before gleefully shredding them into teeny tiny pieces and scattering them just about everywhere.

I'll get busy with a Binbag and the Vax later ... after this lovely cuddle session ;o>

message 4785: by [deleted user] (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments A couple of Cards that came through the Post - LOL!!! ;o>

I also got told to close my Eyes this morning until the ... "Birthday Card Fairy has been" ... ? ! ! ... and there I was, all these years, thinking we only had a Postman doing all of our Postal Deliveries! ;o>

Anytime in the next hour and a half ... we are having a Roast Dinner with all the trimmings followed about an hour or so later by my favourite Fruit Tart with Custard AND Ice Cream for Dessert ;o>

You WILL have to wear a Party Hat and take part in playing Pass The Parcel, Musical Chairs, and Pin The Tail On The Donkey ... or else my Mum will be very cross with you and send you straight back Home again without your Goody Bag and Balloon! ;o>

message 4789: by [deleted user] (new)

I will have to gracefully decline the kind offer to play party games as we have unexpected visitors today -Step-daughter and Granddaughter are here overnight and I am currently baby sitting, sat here all alone with a baby monitor for company :)

message 4790: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ohhh? - that kind of visiting!

"Here, Dad, have a Baby, a Bottle, and a bag of Nappies - see you later! - BYEEE!!!"

;o>

message 4791: by [deleted user] (new)

I made it sound bad, didn't I?

Mrs Grizzly is at work and Step-son and Step-daughter have only popped out to the Chinese in the next village to pick up dinner - it's not a case of "abandon baby" :)

message 4792: by [deleted user] (new)

I have had to make a dash into town earlier to buy a baby bouncer as we had nowhere to put little'un down, other than her cot upstairs.
What a pain that was to put together - the picture instructions were very vague indeed!

Actually you made it sound rather special. As not all Mums, and Dads too, feel entirely comfortable in leaving their new-born to the temporary care of anyone else, not even the very closest of family and not even just for a few minutes at a time - so it tells me just how trusted and how respected and loved you are to be trusted with their most precious little 'un ;o>

Awww, thank you, Anita! ... my Mum has absolutely excelled herself today. I've got the most beautiful Flowers AND I've had a Birthday Cake again this year too - and I've just watched my darling little Tia dancing all around the Back Garden play-chasing after Moths!

I genuinely wasn't expecting anything else except for a nice Meal - so it really has been the most wonderful day! ... ;o> ... ;o> ... ;o>
