I was Presiding Officer at my usual Poll Station which is in an area that I thought would share your parents' views. However, we were astounded and pleasantly surprised to find out it wasn't the case, and instead of what I feared might produce c. 5% turnout, we had more like 28%, which for that area is pretty damn good.

We had some opinionated voters in (to be expected) and the odd one who thought it was another Referendum, (not to be expected), but otherwise a very civilised afair.

Media not allowed to report on the state of play during hours of voting, so BBC ran their usual "Photos of dogs at poll stations" thread!

It was, and it also wasn't, an easy decision for M&D and me to not vote.

It was easy because we genuinely have had absolutely enough of all the superfluous spin, the appalling apathy, the terrible lies and the many disgraceful accounts of the abuse of power that we have had to witness and to endure from quite a few of our local and national Politicians just over the last couple of decades alone and we all felt that we just couldn't commit ourselves this time around to voting for any one of them.

And not easy because as angry, and frustrated, and as disgusted as we are by them all, we are extremely proud of, have great respect for and appreciate our right to vote - and we want to make sure that, if we never managed to do anything else by voting, we can still always try our very best to at least keep even worse folk out of gaining favour, and control, and power.

I often wish that there was somewhere on the Ballot Paper to also register such feelings rather than just having the choice of voting or not voting - and then having to listen to so many utterly deluded, or in complete denial, Politicians putting their own twisted spin and interpretations onto what the final Results mean.

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Oooh? - another Bargain?!! ;o> ...

Holland & Barrett - 20% off everything online AND Free Delivery as well!

According to 'moneysavingexpert.com' ... if you go online to Health and Beauty Retailer, Holland & Barrett, you can use the MSE Blagged code ... MSEHB ... to get 20% off everything including Sale Items plus free standard delivery as well (normally £2.99) until 11.59pm on Sunday the 2nd of June. Delivery will be taken off after you've entered your address and just before you pay.

What’s more, you can also use the code on top of its 'Penny Sale' (buy one item get one for a penny) so, by combining all of the Discounts, you could make a pretty healthy saving ;o>

I already know what I'm going to be buying ...

EDIT : the promise of Free Delivery did not work for me however ;o<

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Right, let's just read the Home Alone Cat Manual one more time, shall we? ...

Okay? ... well we've clawed and kicked up all of the Bedding on every Bed and dumped most of it on the Floor ... and we've left our Nose Prints all over the French Windows ... and you've just stepped in your Water Bowl, then into your Litter Tray, and trod all the wet sticky mess into the Carpet in the Hall AND the Lounge as well ... fantastic! ...

Ohhh hang on? - did you also remember to barf into one of your Dad's Slippers as a special present for him? ... Oooh? - and leave a half-eaten Mouse under your Mum's Pillow just in case she starts to feel a bit peckish during the night? ... Yep?! ... our work here is done!!! ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Hiyah Martin! ... come in, make yourself at Home! ;o>

I have had a good rummage around in all the Cupboards but I didn't find any Banana Milkshake here either? There's plenty of Milk in the Fridge and a big bunch of lovely looking Bananas though ... so if we can find you a Blender you can make us a jugful and then we can drink our fill while we go through all of Grizzly's DVDs ;o>

... Whoops? - I still have a bit of Jam on my Fingers?! ... (*wipes DVD on a nearby Sofa Cushion*) ... Ahhh, that's better! - all clean again ...

Martin O' | 2196 comments Just recently discovered the humble chive. Roughly chopped into 2mm pieces can be a tasty addition to egg or tuna mayonnaise with a dash of cayenne pepper. Great for summer sandwiches.

message 4687: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Perhaps we should have used the Lid on the Blender? ...

Is the Egg Mayonnaise supposed to shoot up out of the Blender like that and stick to the Ceiling? It goes rather well with all of the Banana Milkshake splashes, doesn't it? ... adds kind-of a bright yellow pebbledash spatter effect! ;o>

message 4688: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I think you'd better go a bit easier on the Cayenne Pepper, Martin?
