suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Hmmm? - have I been April Fool-ed by Amazon this year?!

So, the Pork & Potato wotsits were temporarily out of stock but could be ordered at a great price and so I did so, but ... and this has been a typical experience for me of this of Amazon ... they aren't in any hurry at all to get them back in stock and probably haven't even got around to ordering them back in yet.

I Emailed to check and got an overly apologetic Email back saying that they could see my Order on my Account, but the Fulfillment Centre (don't you just love that Department name! ;o>) couldn't access it because my Order apparently doesn't exist?!! ... clever, hey? It's right there on my Account Page, and yet it isn't, because they say that they can't see it and so it doesn't exist! - LOL!!! ;o>

The usual weird broken English response then started ... suggesting that I cancel the Order that they say doesn't exist or they will do it for me if I can't do it myself. Then they say I should re-order what is now listed as being in stock but not due for Dispatch until the 1st of June - but they will cover any extra payment for the fastest Delivery on it?!!

They also offered me a £10 Gift Card as a rather nice extra apology ... but Mitz wants her Pork & Potato wotsits now ... and the Email was sent just after 7am in the morning on April Fools Day and the person who sent it has signed off as being called 'Kaput' ... ?!! ... so whether I'll actually ever get any further with this Order or get to receive a Gift Card is anyone's guess! - LOL!!! ;o>

Having just polished off a beef casserole served in a giant Yorkshire Pudding, I couldn't possibly manage a slice - not even a small one :)

message 4012: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I shall enjoy it all by myself then! ... WOO-HOO!!! ;o>

I'm off to put some extra Peppers and Red Onion and a generous sprinkle of Italian Seasoning on it ... Yummy!!!

message 4013: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmmm, extra Peppers and Red Onion?

Tell you what, chuck some mushrooms on as well and I'll let you save me a slice :)

message 4014: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Apr 03, 2019 06:17AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Sorry, we have no Mushrooms in ... and you'd better grab a Slice quick because I've just served up and, bang-on-cue, my Mum has already turned up doing her now perfected impression of a starving Bisto Kid!

We have a Pizza routine where she materialises from seemingly nowhere when the Oven Door opens and then hopefully hovers around pretending to be busy while I cut it up ... before insisting on only just wanting the most teeny and tiniest little morsel to taste ... then after helping herself to a large Slice she waits for me to insist on making her take two Slices ;o>

I don't waste any precious Pizza on my Dad anymore ... he sits there and eats the lot ... and then he grudgingly tells you that it was okay but he still doesn't like Pizza!

Pizza is just TOO delicious to waste on funny folk what don't appreciate them!!! ;oO

message 4015: by [deleted user] (new)

After a cold and dull start here, (the heating was on when I got up this morning) it's brightened up quite nicely, even if it hasn't got much warmer. At least the forecast rain hasn't put in an appearance .... yet!

message 4016: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments It's staying dry here too ... so far.

We had two sudden heavy showers of HUGE Hailstones yesterday even though it was very mild out and the Sun was still shining. I pulled one out of my Hair from where it landed on top of my Head while I was filling up the Birdbath and it was as big as a Child's Marble! ;o>

message 4017: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Well, I did leave you out a Slice in the Kitchen and it's gone now?

Or did my persistent pesky Pizza-pinching parent sneak back in? ... !!! ;o>

message 4018: by [deleted user] (new)

I shall hide my disappointment and console myself with an ice cream from the freezer :)

message 4019: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Lucky you! - my Mum bought 'us all' a large tub of Walls Light last week and I noticed yesterday that it's all gone bar about an inch left in the bottom! ;oO

message 4020: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't buy tubs of ice cream - current favourite is the Iceland Majestics, their own version of Magnums. I do like their raspberry flavour, and have just bought the butterscotch ones which I have yet to try :)

message 4021: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh Butterscotch!!! ;o>

We don't often buy Tubs of Ice Cream ... I can't think why? - but I think that my Mum might possibly know the answer to that one?! - LOL!!!

Not tried the ice cream, far too expensive in my opinion (even on special at the moment - £2 reduced from £3.75!), but do like the Alpro Dessert Moments Hazelnut Chocolate Desserts :)

Phoebe is fast asleep inside the throw on the end of our bed - you've got more chance of waking the dead!

I'll prove it;
Phoebe - TUUUUNNNNNAAAAA!!!!

Nope, nothing :)

message 4027: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments It is very expensive for such a small tub ... but? ... it is a 'speciality' product and if it is an absolute favourite treat then it is surely worth every penny to that person ;o>

Unfortunately I am not able to take your Call right now 'cos I is asleep on your Bed ... however your Call has been recorded that I is on a promise of a tin of Tuna and I will be holding you to your word later when I can be bothered to be awake again. True.
Then again, I've just looked at the price of Ben and Jerry's, and nearly choked on my Majestic!!
From £4.50 upwards makes the Alpro seem cheap in comparison. There must be a market for these ice creams otherwise they wouldn't be on sale in the supermarkets, would they?
And at those prices they will never make it into my shopping basket :)

message 4030: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Apr 03, 2019 08:23AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Well, whaddaya know?! ;o> ... I sent a short and friendly Email in reply to the Apology Email and in it I thanked Amazon Customer Service for their very kind offer of a £10 Gift Card and I just got back an almost immediate response apologising that it had not been carried out yet.

Within a minute of that Email, I then got a £10 Refund Email Notice on an Order for Rennies that I had bought using a Gift Card last year - when they had got an offer on buying a £30 Gift Card to get an extra £6 in Credit as well.

It seems a rather confusing way of doing things but, what the hey, it has worked and I now have a free TEN whole pounds to spend on anything I like ... WOO-HOO!!! ;o>

Hmmm? ... I now have two little hairy woofers looking very meaningfully right at me?! ... I must not look into their Eyes! ... must resist the urge! ... must ... not ... give ... in! ... Oooh? - that really is a very nice Dog Bowl? ... !

It is a speciality product too, unlike Ben & Jerrys, and so to someone who is on a restricted Diet and left feeling utterly fed-up and deprived by it then it must be an absolute Godsend to be able to buy Treats like this ;o>

message 4032: by [deleted user] (new)

Bedtime for me.

I know how many ice creams are in the freezer so no more than one - yes, I'm talking to you, suzy :)

Lez | 7490 comments There are 3 - 4 good servings in a tub. As I haven’t bought any ice cream for many years I don’t know prices at all.
I like Alpro chocolate desserts too but they really are small.

3 to 4 servings?
You've got more willpower than me, Lez :)

message 4037: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Me too!!! ... (*GIGGLES*) ... and never mind the Servings! - a 500ml Tub would probably last me round about 20 minutes ... of which 5 of those minutes would be the time that it took to get the Lid off, fetch myself a Spoon, and get comfy on the Sofa! - LOL!!! ;o>

message 4038: by Lez (new)

Lez | 7490 comments I might just manage half a tub but I really don’t want that much. I have about 6 wafers with it.

message 4039: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments That's because you have willpower and a responsible attitude to Food, Lez ;o>

I could easily become a lost clause if I get to have a whole tub of Ice Cream all to myself - but, in my defence, I partially blame Genetics and the inheritance of a greedy guts nature that has been passed down through several generations of my Mother's side of the Family Tree - LOL!!! ;o>

Nah, seriously, I do have to watch myself with some Foods, and, ironically I think that it really does stem from childhood, as we rarely ever got to have any kinds of Sweets, Treats, Junk Foods, Takeaways, or Puddings in our House when I was growing up.

This unfortunately meant that these things created a rather excessive and unhealthy longing, enormous excitement, and great pleasure for me and my Brother in our teenage years - and if you ever did try to be sensible and save anything 'for later' it soon got eaten by someone else ... and that someone else was invariably my Mum!

I've come to 'learn' how to portion and save things and to enjoy pacing myself now - but it's often still quite a temptation to sit down and eat Treats until they are all gone in just the one go! And I think it sadly also goes to show that raising Kids on an exclusively healthy Diet doesn't always bring about the desired effect of going on to create adults with a healthy interest in Food.

message 4040: by Lez (new)

Lez | 7490 comments I really can’t claim to have strong willpower! It’s just that after years of not exactly dieting but trying not to overeat, I no longer have a big appetite, which means I don’t eat a big portion in one go but every time I have a coffee I have some TUC bikkies or similar.
About 5 years ago I was nearly 3 stone overweight but I’ve managed to lose 2 stone and I’m fairly happy with that. Trouble is with my ongoing dizziness and ‘bad’ knees, I can no longer walk anywhere so no exercise. :-(

message 4041: by [deleted user] (new)

Portion control; my biggest failing :)

It used to be that when I cook a meal it looks like I'm feeding the Five Thousand, though in reality it is usually just for the two of us. We bought smaller plates but became expert plate stackers - think that person at the buffet who piles their plate impossibly high :)

Nowadays we are doing much better and while not managing to lose any substantial amounts of weight, neither are we actually gaining any either :)

message 4042: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments It's a frustrating and painful circle, isn't it? ;o<

Here we still have that flippin' Car just sat out on the Driveway that M&D bought back in December - and it is now April?! And I can't work out how on Earth to get myself to the Pool without it - and there are times with M&D when I feel like I am banging my Head against a Brick Wall and I could quite literally scream myself silly with sheer frustration.

I'm going to have to try to work something out or I'll become completely reliant on my Wheelchair much sooner rather than later.

Ahhh well, such is Life and these things that are sent to try us, hey?! ;o>

I can't get over seeing on TV what gets served up in American Diners?!! No wonder so many folk are so huge over there if mammoth portions are considered standard in so many places. I've seen single plates of Food being served that could so easily feed a hungry table of four!!! ;oO
