Yep, but I couldn't have done it without help though, a proper team effort :)

The warehouse loaders couldn't set the fridge temperatures inside the trailer when they were loading as that control panel was broken, and no-one came outside to do it on the controls at the front.
The shunters never checked the temperatures when they pulled the loaded trailer off the bay and parked it up, and my tablet wasn't working properly so I couldn't work through any of the trailer checks, check temperature settings or the seal number.
The fridge was running, and the temperatures were all within the accepted margin for the temperatures set. it's just a shame that it wasn't at the correct setting.
End result?
I turned up at the store with 18 cages of food that should have been frozen to -21 degrees, not a defrosted soggy mess that was set at +1 degree!

In the subsequent investigation, because the load had been at the wrong temperature for over an hour before I got to it, I got away with an "If you are in doubt about ANYTHING, double check in the office before leaving", followed by an "I presume this won't happen again?"
Then they told me the cost of the ruined stock.

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments Oooh? - purple? ... nice!!! ;o>

Or? ...

message 3758: by [deleted user] (new)

I never saw either of those in the showroom, fortunately :)

Although the dealer advertised the car as purple, it is a very dark colour. You would be forgiven for thinking it was black if glancing casually at it.
Anyway, the colour does not feature high on my list of priorities - I was more interested in the very low mileage and the amount of dealer warranty left.

message 3759: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments Well, with you being a driver, I guess those bits are probably more important?

You did only say that it is a purple Car and now you are telling me that it could pass for black ... am I picking up on vibes that purple would not have been your first choice if there had been any other colours on offer?

You do know that purple is a universal colour that according to ... Colour Me Beautiful: Expert Guidance to Help You Feel Confident and Look Great ... suits everyone?

Purple is the new black, darling! - and you will look absolutely gorgeous in it, trust me! ;o>

message 3761: by [deleted user] (new)

There was a more than one of these cars on site, all of them different colours so, no, colour really doesn't bother me all that much.
Besides, I shouldn't be able to lose it in a car park, should I? :)

I'll put up a picture when I get the car on Wednesday so you'll be able to judge the colour for yourself :)

NO!!!
Most definitely not!!

Mrs Grizzly has a set of them in pink in her car - I think they're a bloody nuisance and a distraction, hanging from the rear view mirror and obstructing your vision.

And don't even think about driving gloves :)

Good morning, good morning to you

Now the milkman's on his way, It's too late to say goodnight

So, good morning, good morning
Sunbeams will soon smile through
Good morning, good morning, to you, and you, and you, and you

Martin O' | 2196 comments A very short burst of hail yesterday, no work till Friday, fish fingers and chips for tea. Haven't they got pricey lately!

message 3787: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments I've not found any Brands of Fish Fingers that I like anymore, Martin - so I've gone over to buying Tesco's Breaded Chunky (Cod or Haddock) Fillets from their Frozen Food Section instead.

Fish is very dear now compared to back in the 80's when we used to buy in bulk for bargain prices and eat more of it than we did Meat.

I used to absolutely love Monkfish and have it at least 2 to 3 times a week - but I've not had it now for about a decade. I saw a rather small Tail End on sale a few months back (just enough in it to feed one) was stunned to see it priced at over a tenner!

Martin O' | 2196 comments A lot milder now the wind has calmed down but very little rain just a few spots now and then. My recipe for fish fingers, mix and mash with baked beans and tartare sauce, with brown bread and homemade chips they make great sandwiches. I've also got some salmon fillets for another night to go with small boiled potatoes with garlic, herbs, butter, olive oil and some green beans.

Baked Beans?! - I've not heard of that combination before? ;o>

My Recipe for Fish Fillet Sandwiches ... Bake Fish Fillets in Oven for the recommended 25 to 30 mins, place a Fillet onto a very lightly buttered slice of your favourite Bread, grind on some Black Pepper, place another slice of very lightly buttered Bread on top, squash down and cut into quarters. Serve up with either a generous dollop of Tomato Ketchup or Tartare Sauce.

Have you tried their own brand chunky fish fingers, suzy?
I also go for Sainsburys own brand as well :)

Do you find that the bread goes soggy too quickly and falls apart?
Whether using bread or rolls, I always lightly toast them in an attempt to prevent sogginess and, as for sauce, it's either Brown or Sweet Chilli :)

message 3792: by Lez (new)

Lez | 7490 comments Yes, Sainsburys are good! Never thought of having them in a sarnie though!

message 3793: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments Either Fish Fingers are not what they were once? - or as I've got older my taste in Fish Fingers has changed? I don't like those over-breaded tiny strips of grey Fish off-cuts that tend to dry out to almost nothing on cooking.

We rarely had Fish Fingers at our House when I was a Kid as they were too expensive a Treat for us - but I don't remember them being like this if we ever had them for Tea at friend's Houses?

I like a big piece of moist tasty Fish with a very lightly seasoned crisp Breaded Crust and if you wolf them down as fast as we tend to do in this House then they don't have any time to turn the Bread soggy ... although I'm not all that sure that they do anyway?

We don't tend use Sainsburys anymore as it's a little bit more out of our way compared to getting to all of the other main Supermarkets. Before I became disabled I used to get off the Bus and bob in to it on the way Home from work - but now I collect my Nectar Points on online purchases elsewhere and I spend them on eBay instead ;o>

message 3794: by Lez (new)

Lez | 7490 comments I think in the ‘old days’ fish fingers were usually cod, then when cod became expensive and then endangered, often unnamed, cheaper fish was used. You can still get cod fish fingers but they’re more expensive and not so common.

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments I bought some Birds Eye Fish Fingers a few years ago to try them out and, when I cooked and then 'dissected' a few, I discovered they had virtually nothing inside them - and that what they did have looked far more like a double thickness stick of grey Chewing Gum!

I'm not all that fussy with Food? - but they were not even close to being acceptable enough to me to serve them up and so I actually binned them.

I prefer the Chunky Breaded Fillets because they tend to be far less processed and messed around with - and the ones that we get from Tesco are almost always really moist and fresh and tasty. I have tried Breaded Fish Fillets (both Fresh and Frozen) bought from elsewhere but have always been disappointed so far.

message 3796: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 19, 2019 07:09AM) (new)

The Tesco Finest chunky fish fingers are, as it says on the box, chunky. I would have thought that they would be very similar to the chunky breaded fillets as they are probably made at the same place.
Fish fingers are normally an emergency meal in our house - in other words something Mrs Grizzly can cook without incinerating if I'm not going to be home in time to cook dinner before she goes to work :)

That said, the other day I cooked fish fingers and served them in wraps with salad and garlic mayo for Mrs Grizzly and sweet chilli sauce for me :)

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments They do look nice and they aren't much higher on Fat Content either - but I've got used to and much prefer having a big Fish Fillet on my Bread to having a couple of Fish Fingers now ;o>

I've managed to get M&D into having Fish Fillet Butties at least twice a week for their Dinner after suddenly starting to see them slip into just having what I call the 'OAP special' of Jam on Toast.

I used to see far too many elderly Patients eating like this every day (because it's cheap, and quick, and requires no real effort) - and I'm not having them going down the same nutritionally poor path while I am still around.

Indeed :)

Dinner today is chicken breasts with chips, peas and onion rings - just gone into the oven now :)

We've had some fabulous weather here - yesterday was bright and fairly warm and today was even warmer but has now gone very overcast. Doesn't matter though as the laundry is dry and the meagre space out the front that we call a garden has been tidied up so it can rain now if it wants :)

I also managed to find out (quite by chance) what the manufacturer calls the colour of my new car - if you google 'whisper purple' and click on the images, you should see some cars in this colour.
