Don't let your hairy woofers leave you dog tired :)

And ... I had just got back into Bed ... when there were two little Woofs followed by the 'orrible sound of her retching and crying in the Hallway! ;oO
She has only just been a tiny bit sick but obviously has been made very upset about it and so I've had to stay up with her yet again.
It's now 5am?!! ... and I'm just about to ever-so-quietly try to sneak off up to Bed again ...
Does anyone want a sick little hairy woofer for a few days? - I NEED Respite Care! ;o>
I was rather rudely awakened while it was still dark this morning - Phoebe decided to launch herself from the bedroom window, where the curtains meet in the middle, and land four-square on my chest!!
Realising suddenly that it wasn't play time, she then legged it downstairs to either hide or laugh about what she'd done :)

Phoebe the Phantastic strikes again ... DA-DA-DA-DAAAAAAA!!!

Just been visited in our back garden by a pair of long-tailed tits, with their dash of pink plumage. Haven't seen any for a couple of years. The males can be highly territorial, though. Previously we have had a 'tap-tap-tap' at our kitchen window as the male keeps flying at the window pane to attack its persistent reflection. Today, one of the pair flew onto ivy right outside our window, then kept returning as I was whistling at it. It alighted on the window frame and ledge itself to listen better. I'll keep an ear out for the 'tap-tapping' to re-start. Attractive things they be.

What does the Lady Lux think of a Cat moving into her Back Garden?

Is it 'get Grizzly day' today?
First it was Phoebe, now it's geese;
To get to the doctors, I walk past an enclosure that has six or seven geese in it. Normally, they take no notice of anyone walking past but today they came stampeding up to the fence, giving me a severe eyeballing and following me all the way round two sides of their enclosure!

Where's my extra large Rolling Pin?!! ...

pretty much indifferent unless bob z. runs - then all bets are off! however, b.z. did leave us a small gift on the back steps - not really sure what it was, but it appeared to have had a spine. altogether, i'd estimate it was around 40% of a thing! tasted lousy too!

I love the long-tails, I usually get about 8 of them on the apple tree in late afternoon. So pretty and their twittering’s charming too.
I have a robin which appears on the kitchen window-sill when I’m doing the washing-up. There’s always plenty for it to eat so I don’t know what he wants of me!
Never mind 'tap-tap-tap' at the window, a short while ago I heard an almighty 'THUNK', so got up to investigate. Sprawled out on the patio was a Collared Dove, which had obviously flown into the bedroom window.
The poor thing is still alive, just badly stunned by the looks of it. It has manged to get itself upright, is gradually becoming more alert and has hidden under the creepers by the patio door, as a couple of other Doves were harassing it.
Food and water have been placed under the other edge of the creepers, but there's not a lot more we can really do.

THAT'S why Phoebe beat you up, Grizzly - you forgot to buy her a Card and a present!

We used to get a lot of birds, mostly greenfinches, flying into the patio doors. I covered the doors and back windows with stickers which are a great deterrent. Just the occasional visit from the sparrowhawk frightens them.

Well, she should have written it on the calendar then, shouldn't she? :)

Just check these out! ... aren't they absolutely incredible?!! ...

Not bad, but I'll bet he can't put a Rowntrees Fruit Pastille in his mouth without chewing it :)
The Collared Dove has gone from underneath the creepers and as there is no pile of feathers or bloodstains, I'm inclined to think that it has recovered sufficiently to join the rest of the Doves in the big tree in front of the house, from where it will probably crap on my car!

I was/am amazed by what you can create just from shreds of old and used Tyres - not to mention the life-likeness, the incredible attention to detail. The raw power/vitality and sheer energy of the Animals in particular just blew me away.
There aren't many Art Installations that I am particularly interested in or would want to pay good money to go and see - but if they ever came nearer to Home here then I'd most definitely try to make the time and the effort to go and see them close up ;o>

Dad insisted on sitting up last night and everything seemed fine but Mitz has been rather quiet and then at just gone half Eleven this Morning she went out, tried to eat Grass until we stopped her, then had a very bad dose of the Runs again ;o<
M&D have just wrapped her up in a Blanket and took her off to the Vets whimpering because she is upset and I'm guessing her poor little Tummy hurts too - and I'm sat here with a very bewildered and upset little Tee who also does not need any of all of this stress and distress in her life right now ;o<
Ahhh well, we managed to get her stabilised and well before so ... Fingers crossed ... we can hopefully do it again.
And that's the latest News Flash from the Animal Hospital here in Stockport ;o>

I didn't think so, Lez Lee? ... it actually made me giggle just imagining your Face! ;o>
I could picture you sat there and thinking "WHAT?!! - how on Earth could Suzy get herself all enthused just by looking at THAT?!!" ... HA HA HA HA HA!!! ;o>

Ohhh yes, happy news! - let's hope so! ;o>

I assume that you are hoping that the Dove is recovered, not that it is crapping on my car! :)
Nice sunshade, but it wouldn't last five minutes here when the breeze picks up :)

Talking of sun, 16 degrees here with blue skies so I'm off out in a bit in t-shirt and shorts and I've turned the heating down- bye bye winter? :)

... (*sniggers*) ... ;o>

I've a sad feeling that this is going to upset her far more than being ill is?!! ;oO
Does that mean that Tia will also miss out on treats or will you be able to slip them to her without Mitz noticing?

It will probably have to be upstairs in my Bedroom (like she has had to do a few times now while Mitz has been so ill) and I'll have to keep on top of the terrible mess of left-over Biscuit Crumbs!
The familiar usual and relied-upon routine of the giving of Treats at certain times for good behaviour is going to be very confusing and challenging for them both.
I'm obviously extremely worried about our Mitz - but it's also sweet little Tee that I'm feeling worried about and really sad for right now. She can't possibly have much more time left? - and everything has kept on with becoming stressful and unsettling in her daily life since mid-January (when Mitz first became ill) and I so want for Tee to feel safe, secure, calm and content in her last days with us.
I wish that we could work out what the Hell is going on with poor Mitz?

I put two Bowls of Breakfast on the Floor ... they both looked at it very suspiciously, warily sniffed at it, and then stood back and sat down and looked at me as if to say ... "and what do you call this?!" ... then they both looked at each other, unanimously declared themselves to be on Hunger Strike and walked off!!! ;oO
They are loving and friendly enough ... BUT ... the new Food is a definite no-no and there will be absolutely no further discussions or negotiations to be had over it!
M&D have had to go back to the Vets to see if they have anything else we can try.

Disney will be calling round about copyright infringement. Don't you dare start singing!

Is the food the Science Diet stuff? Over the years we've had variants of it 'prescribed' by vets for our different dogs. All of the dogs who we tried to give it to hated it. One of dogs would actually eat it but every single time honked it up about 20 minutes later. Needless too say we won't even attempt to feed it to any of our dogs now, regardless of veterinary recommendations.
Has the vet investigated the possibility of a stomach ulcer for Mitzi?

No, it's still from the Royal Canin range they usually have, Derek.
We brought our last two little loves up on Hills as they both had a form of Crohn's Disease and, although they could barely tolerate anything else, they absolutely thrived on it.
These two hated Hills as Pups but loved Royal Canin and so they have been raised mainly on Royal Canin Sensitivity Control with the addition of small pieces of cooked Chicken or Lamb's Heart and the odd spoonful of Rice or Pasta mixed in.
The Vets are at a loss as to what it is and have tested for everything that they can think of and come up with nothing so far? I am wondering if she has built up an intolerance to her Dog Food but, if she has? - then it has hit her with a right bang and virtually come out of absolutely nowhere overnight and I would never have thought such things would happen just like that?
She is very uncomfortable today but bright enough between sleeps - I just hope we can keep her pain-free and well when the Emergency Injections of Painkillers and Sedatives that she got last night start to wear off.
It is so distressing to see her like this and feeling so helpless to know what to do about it. And Tia really does not need this drama and crisis agitating her either as she gradually continues to approach the end of her days with us. She isn't looking too bright herself today and my Heart just goes out to both of them.
We had such a fantastic Christmas and New Year with them both being SO happy and SO well - and then this goes and happens ;o<
suzy,
I hope that the vet can come up with an answer as to what is wrong with Mitz, so that you can all have a bit of a break from the current situation :)
