Feb? It won't be for the orange stuff, then, Suze, but for the white stuff. Still, a snowman always looks better than the proverbial sandman, I reckon. Just make sure you pack your fur-lined bikini and winceyette nightie with them as well.

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Dark, windy and wet here ... the Weather that is, and not me! ;o>

It isn't particularly cold but the Rain is being wildly thrown around like Sea Spray out there - and since out there, in the Garage, is where the Washer and Dryer is I'm not doing any Laundry today.

I went out to the Freezer first thing this Morning to get some Bread for Toast and got absolutely drenched to the Skin within seconds. Poor old Moo and Tee nearly got blown away when I insisted that they went out for piddles and now they both have frizzy-fluffy Fur that won't comb out smooth and flat - LOL!!! ;o>

Bacon, Cheese, Onion & Potato Bake tonight, I think? ... Yum! Yum!! Yum!!! ;o>

Right, holiday details have been finalised;

Accommodation has been secured on the Costa del Backyard - a delightful little beach hut (shed) with spectacular views over the raised patio and ornamental water feature (bird bath). Facilities include free use of the gym (exercise bike in the garage).

Catering is by our newly five star hygiene rated chef (a freshly wormed and deflead me!) and the menu includes classics such as "take it or leave it" and "there's many would be grateful for that".

A word of warning, however:
Anybody found levitating will be tethered to the washing line and beaten like a pinata until such time as all the helium swallowed from the balloons has been expelled! :)

It's been dry, bright and quite warm here today - nice enough for me to enjoy a walk home after dropping my car off at the garage ready for an MOT and service tomorrow.
Here's hoping that there's nothing too expensive wrong with it this time - I've already spent £114 on two tyres.

Ohhh I absolutely love the Costa del Backyard at this time of year! - the icy cold breezes and sporadic rain showers are just as bracing as holidaying in Skegness ;o>

It was bright and dry and sunny first thing this morning but there was a sudden shower at Lunch-time and it has stayed very dull and rather dark ever since.

Tia is just bouncing off the walls - hurtling and rocketing everywhere just for the sheer delight and Hell of it today! - LOL!!! She has very quiet and sleepy times that sometimes last whole days (just like she did yesterday) and we try our best not to stress out or make a big deal of it but just to take each day one day at a time with her. Today though is obviously a very good day indeed ;o>

She'll surely crash out again this Afternoon and Evening but this Morning was an absolute riot - and the only safe place for Mitz and me was up on the Sofa as Tia raced around throwing about, diving on and killing her favourite Sock Toy! ... bless her ... x ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Grizzlygrump wrote: "after dropping my car off at the garage ready for an MOT and service"

Did I tell you all the good news that started off 2019? - that Mum finally found the 'Like New' model of Skoda Fabia on Christmas Eve that she was looking for - after us being without a useable Car for almost a year now? ;o>

Her almost 30 year old Peugeot was barely running at all by the start of February 2018 after several years of miraculously keeping on going enough to pass it's MOT and we didn't dare risk going anywhere in it anymore in case it broke down on us and knew that it wouldn't pass another MOT which was due last June.

In May, we sold it on to the guy who used to keep it going for us, as we had always promised him that we would. He has always wanted it so that he can strip down and rebuild it then gift it on to his teenage Daughter as her first Car. It left Mum to struggle with occasionally driving what was once my Dad's Car on very short journeys instead - and also relying on a couple of kind Neighbours for the odd drop-off and pick-up the rest of the time.

The only (slightly worrying) thing is that my Mum hasn't quite got up the confidence to drive anywhere in the new Car yet and so it's just sat pride of place on the Driveway at the moment - LOL!!! But, once she does, then I'll hopefully be able to get to go out again and even get myself back to going to the Pool! - YAYYY!!!

My limited little World is hopefully finally about to open up again! ;o>

Isabella | 1370 comments Just read that Toto's "Africa" is to be permanently played in an African desert, using solar power. Great, another place where human beings are going to generate noise pollution (and it's not personal, ANY superfluous man-made sound would be unacceptable in that context). Why not have a light show after dark as well? Grrrr...

WHAT?!! ;oO

... who on Earth thinks up these downright bizarre things? ...

And why aren't they on Medication or a Section?!!

The 'Artist' apparently wants to "to pay the song the ultimate homage and physically exhibit 'Africa' in Africa" ... it's just a rather cheesy Song?!! ... and Africa IS Africa and doesn't need a Sound Installation to reinforce that fact?!! ;oO

It sounds like something out of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ... !

Another bright and dry morning here with temperatures nearly into double figures. Currently trying to decide whether to wear trousers or shorts for going out.
On balance, I think the breeze is making it just a bit too cool for shorts today :)

Okay ... but first ... YAYYY!!! - so your Car has successfully passed it's MOT, has it? ... and I think that I should let you know that I've also got a huge stack of Laundry here too if you are feeling at a loss for things to do this Afternoon? ... and although I do love Soup I don't really like Stews or Casseroles and so can I have something else please? ... and what did you bring ME back from the Shops?!! ... (*grabs Shopping Bags excitedly and starts frantically rummaging*) ... Oooh, what is it?!! ... where is it?!! ... and can I eat it?!! - or wear it?!! ... ;o>

message 2986: by [deleted user] (new)

OK, in order;

The car passed the MOT and with a service has lightened my wallet by £400 - it positively floats now all that weight has been removed :)
I've had enough of laundry for one day and my afternoon will be occupied with some serious, time-consuming inside of eyelids inspection.
Soup?
Easily sorted - I'll just blitz the casserole with a stick blender and add some cream for a cream of vegetable soup :)

As for the shopping, I could only afford bread and beans - feel free to help yourself :)

Guess good ol' builders' sand answers the 'orange' colour!

otherwise, just using poetic licence! Hate 'beaches' consisting of pebbles, but have been on some idylic sandy ones - although suppose calling them 'orange' would be stretching it.
In UK some of the best and most unspoilt are oop North - Northumberland and Scottish Isles, although wouldn't really want to take a dip in the Arctic cold seas (we're not as hardy down here in Midlands, obvus, unlike Northerners!

And Pembrokeshire too! Some of the county's beaches are the cleanest in the world! Every year in Tenby & Saundersfoot, is the annual Boxing Day & New Year's day swim. This is a relatively recent tradition, but so far every year the numbers of folks doing it, is growing, smashing the previous year's record of 'brave swimmers'!

Personally, i think they're all bonkers, the Atlantic's waters maybe a bit warmer in winter than elsewhere in the UK, but not that warm enough!

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments I wonder what on Earth was in Builders Sand back in the 70's? - and whether it is still in it now? ... some kind of Dye, I'm guessing?

I only ask because I remember my Dad creating our impressive childhood 'Climbing Frame' in the Back Garden here out of several pieces of Scaffolding that my Granddad had somehow 'obtained' from a Building Site he was working on at the time ... and the first created Sandpit (some kind of enormous Metal Scoop Bucket sunk into an unused Flowerbed!) was originally filled with several bags of very dark brown/orange Builders Sand.

Only the once though, as after a typical day of all the Neighbour's Kids playing at ours (only the Local Parks back then tended to have Climbing Frames and so our Garden was always the favourite place for everyone to come and play including many Kids that we had never seen before and didn't even know!), everyone went Home exhausted but happy and with huge smiles ... plus rather heavily stained Clothes and Skin!!! ;oO

My Mum was absolutely furious with my Dad - and so, as soon as he got Home from Work at 10pm that night, she made him borrow a Shovel, dig it all out and bag it up, and get rid of it! - LOL!!! ... and I can still remember, almost like yesterday, lying all tucked-up in Bed and listening to him beneath my Bedroom Window digging and swearing away to himself as he did it!

... Happy Days!!! ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Damnits! - another bad day ahead here ;o<

I was sat on the Floor yesterday Morning combing and brushing the little hairy woofers when my Left Hip suddenly went on me and I've not been able to stand upright and properly straighten out my Spine at the back of my Neck and base of my Spine since ... and I'm currently locked into an agonised form of walking rather reminiscent of Mrs Overall off Acorn Antiques!!! ;oO

I feel far more like I am 150 than only 50 years old today!

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ohhh, I'm rattling with all sorts of magic Medications today! - LOL!!! ;o>

I'm sure that something will finally hit the right spot and release all of the compressed kinks eventually, Val - it's just me venting on feeling so frustrated and impatient.

I hate sitting, or in my case right now, lying around, waiting to get up and to get going ... and Tia will keep on with head-butting my Bedroom Door, excitedly racing in, leaping up on the Bed, and crash-landing on top of me too! - which isn't exactly helping me all that much either?! ... bless her beautiful but clumsy furry boots!!! ... HA HA HA HA HA!!! ;o>

message 2996: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16062 comments Ohhh, and now I have a little Mitzi-Ditz scuttling around as well! ;o>

She really is a funny little woofer, she has very cross and noisy arguments with the Kitchen to the Hallway Door for some weird reason known only to her. All the other Doors are fine by her but she absolutely hates that Door and with such a passion! And she has always had this strange sideways scuttling run that makes her look just like an oversized and rather hairy Crab coming at you too - LOL!!!

She never acknowledges me when she comes into my Bedroom, unless she wants something, but always goes straight over to my Bin and sticks her Head in it and starts rummaging through and examining all of my used and dried-up Face Wipes?!

It seems like she comes in just to say "hello" to my Bin rather than to me?!! ;o>

message 2997: by [deleted user] (new)
