Please don't mention that company again.....ever!

Tesco collect from them on a daily basis and I have had, on a couple of occasions now, the misfortune to sit around waiting for about four hours at a time before getting on a bay to get loaded!
I hate waiting around as it makes me tired and irritable and I now refuse to do that collection. I've even swapped routes with other drivers to avoid going there!

Tesco should penalise them for keeping their Drivers waiting by charging them £50 for, say, every 10 minutes that are wasted in just hanging around.

£300 an hour Fines - that'd very soon make them get their act together, wouldn't it?!! ;o>

message 2710: by Craig White (new)

Craig White | 6727 comments it must be! it's that time when the traditional christmas junky collapses across the entrance to the bus station. the good samaritan (that's me) stops to ask if he's ok and does he have a medical condition that would require an ambulance, "ah jist cannae get up" proclaims this holy celebrant in a jovial nasal whine. i informed him that he could right himself by grabbing the frame of the entrance and pulling himself up (well. i wasn't going to put my back out hauling him up, besides he was mawkit and i had my good d.m. jacket on)), which to be fair he tried a couple of times and failed, but as the entrance was now half cleared, i thought **** it, i'm no hanging about all day, satisfied that he wasn't going to die, i went for my bus.
later on, out with the dog, a neighbour who was in the area at the time informed me that the subhuman in question was a very violent individual usually, and that someone at the bus station had phoned for an ambulance for him...........which didn't come!
season's greetings from killie town centre!

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Ohhh tech?! ... it's incredibly shocking and so terribly sad to witness what some folk choose to deliberately do to themselves, isn't it? We have awful problems here in Greater Manchester with many parts of Manchester City Centre frequently looking like they are filming a cross-over between a Zombie Film and an episode of Casualty by day as well as by night these days ;o<

You know what? Despite many hours in a truck every day with the radio on, I hadn't, until now, heard this song :)

All the best laid plans:

I ended up doing a 15 hour shift yesterday, not getting home until nearly half past four - much later than the half past ten in the morning I was hoping for and far too late to go shopping.
As a result, I'm just off out the door now to get the last few bits and pieces needed for the big day, but on my own as Mrs Grizzly has just headed off to work herself.

message 2715: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I hadn't heard it either? - not that I tend much to listen out for the Charts at any time of the year anymore. The 80's were far more of a golden era of Music for me. I just saw the News Article and clicked on it and thought, you know what? - that actually is worth a listen and it sounds like they had such good fun making it ;o>

I have a bit of thing for Song Lyrics and, unlike an awful lot of other Songs (and most especially the Charity motivated ones) I think that this Song has some really great Lyrics - and I hope that it raises lots of money for such a worthy cause ;o>

I can pretty much take or leave a Sausage Roll - but nevertheless I'm off to Amazon right now to buy the Download! - LOL!!! ;o>

Awww? - be careful out there because it'll be busy today! ;o>

I've still not been able to go out (don't ask!) and so I'm currently working out Buses for tomorrow because if I don't manage it, even at this crazy last minute stage, then all of my Shopping Lists and long-held plans for Christmas will have to be abandoned.

I know exactly where I'm going and I think I should be okay once I'm there - but it's the getting there that is taking up so much thought and planning today.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I seem to have a Guardian Angel watching over me at the moment?!

A new Neighbour has just unexpectedly come round with a Card for us - and she rather shyly asked me if I wanted to go out with her for a Coffee tomorrow?! And I felt awful about saying that I couldn't and so I apologised and said that I'd really love to but I need to go and get some shopping - and she asked me if she could come too, drive us in, and then afterwards we can still get to have a Coffee together?! ... YAYYY!!! ;o>

She's quite new to the area and hasn't even heard of, yet alone been, to where I want to go tomorrow - so I'll get to show her one of the very best Shopping Centres and Market Places that we have around here and we can both get to have a companionable and a fun day out ;o>

message 2718: by [deleted user] (new)

Muck and roses, suzy :)

What a great way to get to know your new neighbour and hopefully achieve all you want to do to make your Christmas complete :)

Hey, no Muck please?! - only the Roses! - LOL!!! ;o>

Yeah, the place that I like to go shopping has a small enough Shopping Centre to so easily walk around yet it has the widest variety of all of the usual High Street Shops and also has a few unusual ones as well.

I can usually get everything that I want/need in any one visit and almost all of the Shops have very easy disabled access as well. I'm fairly confident that she will like shopping there just as much as I do ;o>

Is that the chocolates or the flowers?

I was going to say how rough and tough and horrible it was out there but, actually, it wasn't that bad, no worse than an average Saturday.
I only ventured as far as the nearest Morrisons, purely on the strength of my favourite Port and the wine that Mrs Grizzly likes both being on offer there at the moment :)
The roads were no busier than normal, there were plenty of parking spaces in the car park and the shelves hadn't been stripped bare either. In fact, the only thing they had run out of was parsnips. Not a big problem, I'm sure I'll be able to get some from somewhere else over the next two days, even if I have to nick them off the back of the truck (joking!).
I did manage to get some bargains as well - they had some pork and apple sausages from their 'Best' range reduced to 10p per pack - 10p! There's now four packs of these in the freezer :)

message 2721: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Parsnips?!! ... (*SHUDDER*) ... ;oO

Did you buy some of that Ruby Port that everyone has been commenting on in all the Christmas Food & Drink Sections of Newspapers and Magazines? ... the Morrisons own £7 one that beat off competition from one selling at almost £400 a Bottle?!! ...

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I always used to get given the job at our huge extended Irish family Weddings, Christenings, Funerals of keeping all of my many elderly Great Aunties's glasses continually topped up with Sherry or Port ... and the Bottles would steadily start to stack up in the corner of the Kitchen as they sipped away, all perched on Chairs and Sofas in the Front Room.

Then, usually when the Drink ran out, my job was to carefully support and steer each of them in the direction of the Loo and off outside and up the Driveway to their other Great Niece's and Nephew's Cars afterwards! ... Happy Days!!! ;o>

message 2724: by [deleted user] (new)

Ruby Port?
No thanks, that's not for me.

I enjoy a glass of Morrisons own 10 Year Old Tawny Port, usually £12 but reduced to £10 at the moment. Drunk neat, of course - not put lemonade in mine since I was a kid :)

I'm actually very shy, myself, so it's a bit scary for me in going out with someone that I barely know - but it seems to be a big deal to her to want to try to make friends with me and I know how that feels. She doesn't seem to speak too much English and I don't speak any Polish and so, if only for that reason alone, it should be a really interesting day out for the both of us! - LOL!!! ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Well, what an absolutely fantastic day!!! ;o>

We went as early as the Shops were opening so that I'd stand a really good chance of being able to get into and around most of the Shops - and we amazingly got almost three blissfully easy hours of really enjoyable and fruitful shopping in before a huge crowd seemingly just appeared from out of nowhere and took over all the Shops.

Meanwhile we retired content and sat back and relaxed over Hot Chocolates and Toasties in Costa watching all of the queues forming everywhere and many frantic folk (most out with their full families in rather reluctant tow) start buying up just about everything in sight!

On our way back home again, we bobbed into John Lewis and I got to pick up M&D's Click&Collect Radio Alarm Clock, and then we got distracted for a hour or so into sorting through and picking out Curtain Fabrics, and Towels, and Bedding for my new friend's new Home. Suddenly we found ourselves by the Café ... and we looked at the enormous tempting Cake Display ... and then at each other ... and giggling away just like a pair of naughty School Girls we ended up sitting down and having Tea and Cake as well!!! ;o>

It was pretty much one of my most perfect days out ever! - LOL!!! ;o>

message 2733: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments It hasn't been the best day pain-wise of course and, as expected, I'm paying dearly for it all now - but that's just the way the Cookie crumbles (as the Saying goes) and so I'm off to Bed early in the hope of at least some Pain Relief by doing so ...

Mixed blessings now have turned things upside down and I shall be home in the bosom of my family (hoorah!), the downside is we have all succumbed to the dreaded 'flu epedemic over the last couple of weeks. I've been signed of on the sick until the New Year. Luckily most of the shopping and wrapping presents etc was done and dusted so as of now we are all set although none of us feel up to facing a big traditional dinner tomorrow. Them"s the breaks!
Anyway a Joyeux Noel to one and all, Cheers!🎄🍸

Not yet, I don’t eat tea/dinner/main meal till around 8.00 so I’ll settle down with ‘Call the Midwife’ - often too many babies but I suppose the clue’s in the title.
I did however have a couple of spring rolls for lunch. I have to buy several things to make a delivery worthwhile so I’ve got about five more meals to go plus some portions of curry sauce to put with my own prawns. By ‘eck I know how to enjoy myself. Good job I’ve got a big freezer.

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Yeah, Online Orders can be such a pain for those in most need of using them, can't they? I wish they'd consider delivering £20 worth for a small fee.

I couldn't do an Online Order this year because we like so many little rather inexpensive bits and pieces from several different Supermarkets and Independent Shops. It meant that M&D had to spend a whole day in running around and stocking up but at least they can still manage that between them.

And I bought all of the usual special little extras that we always buy in for each other every year when I got to go out the other day ... Twiglets, Brandy Snaps, Lindt Reindeers, After Eights, Nuts and Crisps, Hot Chocolate Mix, and Ground Coffee. They'll very likely last us until Easter - LOL!!! - but it's just lovely to have some nice nibbles in for whenever a craving for a little something kicks in ;o>
