Not too cold today - but it's rather dull and damp and breezy here ...

It's nice and dry here - the wind has blown away all the rain :)
I've had a bit of a clearout of the cupboards in the kitchen today. You know how it is - some things just get pushed to the back and forgotten about. I had to stand on a chair to be able to see right to the back of the wall mounted corner cupboard and, sitting there minding its' own business was last years Christmas Pudding!
I dragged it out with every intention of chucking it straight into the bin as soon as I'd seen how far past the 'best before' date it was, but, as it's OK until July 2019, I've put it back in the cupboard on a lower shelf so it doesn't get forgotten again this year :)

You're most welcome to come and sort and clean my Kitchen Cupboards out just as soon as you've finished your Coffee Break? ;o>I can return the favour through the re-homing of any unwanted Christmas Puddings! - LOL!!!
I'll have to take it out of the tub to get it into an envelope - this could get messy, especially if I add custard! :)
Specially for TechReggae has been added to a list of international cultural treasures which the United Nations has deemed worthy of protecting and promoting.
The music, which grew out of Jamaica in the 1960s thanks to artists like Toots and the Maytals, Peter Tosh and Bob Marley, was added to the collection due to its "intangible cultural heritage".
Reggae is "cerebral, socio-political, sensual and spiritual," said Unesco.
It has "penetrated all corners of the world," added a Jamaican spokesperson.
Reggae followed on from the ska and rocksteady genres - other early pioneers included Lee Scratch Perry and Prince Buster.

They often didn't make it for a variety of reasons - but we successfully grew quite a few ..."My father and bro did that one year. It was small enough in a pot to stand on top of their tele. After Chrissie they planted it out and it grew to at least a 40' monster with the spread of branches smothering everything and the root system shoving paving slabs out of shape. It became so large it would have cost a fortune to bring in tree surgeons to cut it down. It was still there when the house was eventually sold.
Last week's QI featured a couple of jokes I likedA man comes home and finds a snail on his front door. After peeling it of the paintwork he threw it vigorously into the garden. Three days later the doorbell rang repeatedly until he opened the door to be confronted by an very disgruntled snail who stared at him briefly before saying, "WELL?"
A moth goes into a doctor's surgery, "I need help doctor, I'm feeling very depressed and can't sleep." The doctor replies, I don't think I can help you much, I'm a physiotherapist. What you need is a psychiatrist. Why did you come in here?" The moth says to him,"I just couldn't help myself. The light was on!"
les, this is more what i was thinking 'bout reggae fe de u.n.!https://www.theguardian.com/commentis...
Some while back the subject of cataracts and surgery came up, I'm not sure who it was now. Anyway as a further update as I had both eyes done a few years back. Earlier this year I began to notice a slight blurriness in my vision once again and paid a visit to the opticians. After examining my eyes he informed me that the lenses were prone to becoming dirty over time but a visit to the hospital would help somewhat to correct them and he would contact my GP to arrange an appointment. I received a letter last April informing me that an appointment was arranged for December the 4th (tomorrow) which has finally came around at long last. Will keep you posted as to developments and outcome for those who may be similarly affected as itt may prove to be of interest to some.
Oooh? - Good Luck tomorrow then, Martin ... x x xJust in time to enjoy Christmas in full focus and bright colours again! ;o>

Fancy having to wait SO long for this Appointment though? ;oOI could of done the job in a jiffy with a quick blast of our Jet Washer, Martin? - it does such a lovely job of shifting any Moss off the Patio and Driveway!!! ;o>
Errm, pperhaps not Suzy!Anyway post hospital result, a course of eye drops and ointment followed by further laser treatment on the left one in about six weeks before they decide what they are going to do with the other. So a very blurry Christmas seems likely and that's before I hit the port and sherry!
No? - well I'll keep the Jet Washer on standby, Martin, just in case you suddenly decide to change your Mind! - LOL!!! ;o>I'm glad it went well although it's going to be another long wait until you get it all resolved ... x x x
At my time of life six weeks is a mere blink of an eye Suzy and anything out of the ordinary is a welcome diversion from the dull routine of existence, the chance of a few days sick leave is an added bonus at the very least.
Yes. As each eye requires separate treatment to allow them time to settle down and adjust which takes a few days. Not to mention the added encumbrance of a patch (*_*)!
A dull and drizzly day today ... but hey? - I actually went out for a couple of hours and got a Manicure AND my Hair cut! ... YAYYY!!!I was even treated with a Hot Chocolate very generously laced with Baileys and a Mince Pie at the Hair Salon ... and because I obviously enjoyed them both so much (my first Mince Pie of the year) my Hairdresser insisted that I have another round! - and who was I to ever be rude and say no?! - LOL!!!
I came back home feeling very warm and very happy indeed ;o>
Today was a good day Suzy!! Hair done, manicure, loaded hot chocolate (two), mince pie (two) - can't ask for more! It's 35 degrees here with 38 forecast for tomorrow. I don't like the heat - it's the hot winds that kill. We've been lucky with a cool, damp spring and intro to summer so the garden is looking quite nice. Won't last unfortunately. I know I shouldn't complain but I rather wish I didn't have to go out tonight. It'll be fine once I get there - dinner with 3 friends at an Italian restaurant followed by a Johnny Cash tribute show. I'm not a great fan of tribute shows but I do love Tex Perkins and I've seen him doing this show before and it was great.

I shall take my time and enjoy that Link later on in the Morning as it's 1.30 am here, everyone is asleep but me, and all is quiet apart from Mitz and her terrible snoring - LOL!!! ;o>WoW?!! - I'm definitely far too used to living over here to ever get my Head around our Winter being your Summer weather-wise, Val. Christmases for me will always be associated with crisp and frosty Mornings and damp dark early Evenings lit up with Fairy Lights ;o>
And those of us with northern hemisphere ancestry still (rather stupidly) try to recreate that traditional Christmas. Turkey, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, Christmas pudding etc. Our house will have holly and mistletoe (both fake) and spray-on snow on the tree. I think our Christmas dinner will be buffet-style this year so most of it will probably be served cold. I'm hoping it won't be too hot outdoors - Christmas under the air-conditioner just isn't the same!
Right, Tee is all lovely and lozzy and snuggly-buggly in her Blanket ... so I shall ease myself out from underneath her Head and Paws and head off up to Bed for a few hours sleep. It has been a very good day indeed - one to feel blessed by and thankful for ;o>
I hope you have a fantastic Night out, Val ... good food with good company and some great sounding Music as well ... I've always had a bit of soft spot for Johnny Cash.
Nighty-Nighty x Sleepy-Tight x and very Sweet Dreams x ... when you get back ;o>
I'm currently halfway through my 3rd Mug of freshly brewed industrial strength Java Sumatra Coffee ... can you tell? - Hee! Hee! Hee! ;o>
Cottage Pie for Tea.It was going to be Chilli? - but Tia and Mitz love Cottage Pie and whatever Tia wants Tia gets right now and so Cottage Pie it is - minus any Onions in their portion obviously ;o>
