suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments You feel free to moan away, Lez Lee ... (*HUGE HUG*) ... x x x

I just wish that I could think of something to make everything so much better for you - but sadly I can't - and I can well imagine just how awful you must be feeling with it all ;o<

Please take very great care and remember to be extra kind to yourself as well. I hope that you suddenly start to feel so much better and as soon as possible.

Gordon (skiiltan) | 2940 comments Fourteen a day? Is this prednisolone? If so, how much is in each tablet? The usual maximum dose is 60 mg a day, which would be twelve 5 mg tablets, but they might have given you smaller-dose tablets to make it easier to taper the daily dose.

Yes it is prednisolone, 5mg. I read the leaflet and was a bit concerned at it being 70mg a day. Just have to trust the pharmacist I suppose! I’m now on 10 pills for 3 days, then 8 for 3 days, down to 1 on the final day.
The colitis is a side effect of another of my medical problems which might influence the dose (?)

message 756: by Gordon (new)

Gordon (skiiltan) | 2940 comments Sounds horrible, Lez. Are the side-effects becoming more tolerable as the dose comes down?

So this isn't regular ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease? I was going to ask whether anyone had suggested adalimumab (or even vedolizumab) but I don't think they would currently be used for anyone with colitis as an effect of another condition.

No, neither of those Gordon. It touches on what I believe is one of your interests. Message me if you’re interested. Too soon to tell if the lower dose helps.

P Cobb | 580 comments And a Happy Easter Season to all, as well.

Chocolate comes to he/she who waits.

All we now need is some decent weather.

message 760: by Granny (new)

Granny | 93 comments Hope everyone's had a good Easter. I still have chocolate left. We're getting a healthy dose of new snow also. We're in line for 7-11 inches by tomorrow. The plows have been running regularly on the main roads. We have some very irritable songbirds out there. Their little faces peeking through the window look so sad.
Stay well, everyone.

message 761: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments We never got any more Snow - but it is rather rare to get much, if any, in most parts of the UK - which is probably why we all flip out and often go to pieces in not knowing quite how to deal with it when it takes us by surprize ;o>

I hope that your Songbirds are coping and still singing, Granny?

message 762: by Granny (new)

Granny | 93 comments The robins are singing, chickadees are cheeping, and crows cawing. We got another inch last night on to of the 10 from Tuesday. It's sunny now so roads are clearing. The trees aren't sure of what to do with their leaf buds though. 🏝

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Where we live the area is built up on quite a few feet of solid clay only a foot or more underneath. This means if we have a lot of Rain over several days it can also take several days for it to drain off and be gradually absorbed into any green areas.

Our Back Garden is currently looking more like a Paddling Pool of varying depths ... and Mitzi and Tia keep on going out and splish-splosh-splashing from one side to the other trying to work out which is the Shallow End and which is the Deep End!

Our tiled Kitchen Floor is currently covered in literally hundreds of muddy little pawprints! ... GRRR!!! ... and I've cleaned it thoroughly four times today already! - and so I am resting up on the Sofa and pretending to myself that I can't see that it is dirty AGAIN! - LOL!!! ;o>

message 764: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Yep! - I've just wandered into the Kitchen, poured myself a Mug of Coffee with Milk and two Sugars ... and all without even looking once at the state of the Floor!

Ignorance really is bliss indeed - and ain't life grand sometimes when you have no other choice available but to just give up on caring so much about cleaning?! - LOL!!! ;o>

Derek W | 1365 comments Given the size of Rig's feet, we have three large washable rugs at each entrance with old towels at hand and make sure he can't escape until he's had his feet cleaned.

He still manages to get mud on the rugs in the living room though.

message 768: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Apr 06, 2018 10:55AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments We keep our two contained in the Kitchen until they have been towelled off and their Paws have been cleaned - but while I do one the other likes to race around so the Floor gets covered in pawprints.

If they are still damp, then they stay in the Kitchen with the Fan Heater on, until they are dry enough to come into the rest of the House. We close the Door on them and sit down ... and then all the moaning and groaning and whimpering and wailing chorus starts up ... "Awww, come on, Mum?! - no fair! - let us out! We wanna be with you and get to watch the Telly too!" ... HA HA HA!!! ;o>

Well suzy you can never get all the mud off with a towel and if we tried to wash his feet we'd flood the utility room. His favourite trick after having his feet cleaned is to spin round in circles at high speed chasing his tail on the living room rug. That usually gets any remaining mud off his feet right where we don't want it

message 772: by suzysunshine7 (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments Awww? ... Hee, Hee, Hee! ;o>

Our two are little smarties who only just like to pretend to be as thick as two short planks whenever it suits them best, Derek.

We throw a Towel over each of them as they hurtle in through the Door and they will actually wait until I say ... "Shake, Baby, shake!" ... and then they will do their full Body Shake whilst still underneath their Towels.

I'm just so grateful that they have always been such incredibly quick learners of tricks like this on command as we would surely have this every single time that they came in out of the Back Garden! ...

Have any of you Creme Egg fans tried the Cadbury Layer Of Joy Eggciting Trifle?
I've been delivering loads of these over the past week and I reckon they've got to be extremely sickly, if they taste anything like the eggs - not something I think I'd like to try.

message 778: by suzysunshine7 (last edited Apr 07, 2018 09:53AM) (new)

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments I can only count on just the one hand how many Crème Eggs I've eaten over the last 5 - 10 years and I've not tried that Trifle thingymagummy.

Granny is definitely the Crème Egg addict to ask ;o>

EDIT : The Pots of Joy did score 5 out 5 Stars in all 7 Reviews on Morrisons website - however out of 3 Reviews on Asda's they only scored one 5 out of 5 and the other two said that they weren't that keen on them ... and on Ocado they got a very mixed response as well.

message 779: by Granny (new)

Granny | 93 comments Trifle? I have not seen those. It sounds delightful! My supply of creme eggs is dwindling. I try to savour them at one per day. It's hard to do though.
My dogs and husband have muddy feet always in spring so I just look away and pretend the floor is not there. 🤐

My nephew reluctantly took their beardie back to the breeder. Nephew broke his ankle and his wife was ill for several weeks and they really couldn’t walk Guido or look after him properly. The breeder agreed it was best to return him - his mum and brother are still with her. Apparently he settled down immediately without a backward glance!

message 790: by Craig White (new)

Craig White | 6727 comments that's a real shame, les, and it must have been a hard decision to reach. but a good breeder will always take a beardie back in such circumstances. no easy to do tho'!

Is Lady Lux missing a Foot? - or can neither of you count to four? ... Hee, Hee, Hee!!! ;o>

Ours do tend to forget just how many Feet they have when it comes to having them washed and towelled - and so we have to constantly remind them whenever they try to bolt off hallway through ... "No, you have FOUR Legs, one at each corner, and so we need to wash all FOUR Paws, Girls!"

That said, they do spent most of their evenings sat in front of the TV grooming themselves and washing their Feet - and so they obviously do like to be very neat and clean in their own particular way ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16038 comments It was when you saying about even the Cows in the nearby Fields starting to take offence at all of the 'Dog Pats' that she was continually creating all around your Caravan that me and Mum just completely lost the plot and started howling with laughter like a pair of Hyenas! ;o>

And all the way past the Diners sat by the Windows in that Restaurant?!!

You must surely have come home with a severe form of repetitive strain injury from all of the poop scooping that you had to do after Lady Lux.

How poor Mrs tech coped with the sudden loss of her expensive Sunglasses - and you managed to persuade the locals to actually let you come back for another Holiday there is beyond me? ;oO

I was feeling rather sorry for myself for not having had a Holiday for a couple of years until I started reading all of your hysterically funny, yet utterly unenviable, 'Postcards From The Edge'! - LOL! ;o>
