I am now the best Daughter in the World!!! - LOL!!!
My new honourary title won't last long, of course, but, while it does, I'll be making the very most of basking in the bright warm glow of sheer happiness on my Mum's face ;o>

The very least that they could do to enable Warehouse folk to do their Jobs is to connect any Doors up to Doorbells - and connect any Doorbells up to Light S..."
Speaking as someone with a hearing impairment..i admire the fact that this store has employed a severely hard of hearing person on it's warehouse store deliveries. It can be difficult for disabled people to get any employment & not be disadvantaged by their disabilities. So i say bully to that company.
And i also like his sense of humour too! :)

True.....but sometimes disabled people don't like to be overly 'mollycoddled', even when such measures are are sensible and helps that person to do their job more effectively. Granted, things like ramps for wheelchair users are a no brainer, but i must confess, that i personally still try to resist 'help' with my disablility (unless i actually do need it), for nothing more than stubornness and pride in my case. I refuse to let my limitations dominate my life...even if i do 'trip up' occasionally! Something that i guess i will eventually give in to, in time....but not just yet. It's the feeling of being a burden to others, that i don't like, even if such feelings are misplaced, but it's a hard thing to 'let go'. I've always prided myself on being a do-er, and so don't easily accept help from others when it comes to my hearing or sight issues, only when it's absolutely necessary.
But, regarding that 'back door' staff member (as they were known in my old store), it sounds like that deaf person has got his coping method down to a fine art! :)

Someone who isn't being adequately supported/provided for in the Workplace would be very likely to become a very great burden to all their Work Colleagues who would have to keep on remembering to look out for them and covering for them in doing all of the Jobs that they can't do for themselves simply because the Company haven't put anything in place to enable them to do it.

Yeah I thought that Val, hope he's ok.

As a way of helping Customers who are self isolating, Elderly, Disabled or Vulnerable, and not able to visit a Shop or manage to get a Home Delivery Booking Slot, Morrisons have just created a dedicated Telephone Order Service called Morrisons Doorstep Delivery.
Customers, who have been identified as Elderly, Disabled, or Vulnerable, and who are needing this Service can choose from a Food Box or place an Order from a selection of 45 essential Groceries. The Order will then be matched to a local Morrisons Store who will pick out the Items, put it all together, and deliver it directly to the Doorstep of the Customer on the following day.
This Service started on the 8th of April and is available from all of the Morrison's Stores
If you have friends or family who are in need of this help and unable to shop instore, please ask them to call ... 0345 611 6111 ... and select option 4 to order a Foodbox ... or select 5 to place an Order for a Doorstep Delivery. The Order will take 24 hours to process and payment will be taken through a Contactless Card by the Delivery Driver.
A list of the essentials that are available can be found below ...

Our local Post Office has been closed for well over a Month now and, for some reason, they chose to seal up the nearest two Post Boxes to us as well. Unusually for me too, I also discovered last week that I haven't got any Stamps anyway - as it turns out that my Dad has suddenly started with helping himself to them to post off some of his Crossword Puzzles!
I only have a couple of personal Email Addresses for my Forum friends - so if anyone (who knows me ;o>) would like to trust me with theirs in return for receiving a Easter e-Card off me can you please message me with it? Only I need to have personal Email Addresses to be able to 'post' them to you ... x
I promise not to use them for anything else ... no forwarded Spam, no amazing Pyramid Schemes, and no begging letters either! - LOL!!! ... just an e-Card sent with all of my best wishes for a lovely Spring and a very happy Easter-time despite everything else that is going on all around us at the moment ;o>

I've sent you my email via messaging.

I think our nearest one to us closed because it is so tiny that to properly social distance would involve any Customers queuing all the way up a long and narrow Pavement that is also in front of a few other Shops - plus it has been run for quite a few years now by a (persistently grumpy!) elderly Postmaster and two extremely sweet (although unbelievably chatty and incredibly nosey!) little old ladies who I think must be well into their late 80's. I'm not entirely sure if the ladies are paid Staff or not? - as they might possibly be volunteers.
There are other Post Offices that are open but I didn't, and still don't, feel like it would be right or fair of me to see if I can possibly get one of my younger Neighbours to drive over to one just so that they can buy Stamps and post some Cards for me - as I think many folk are already risking enough out there just in looking out for themselves and their own families.

Aw, go on, send me some begging letters - I've run out of Ideas for mine :)

Actually, joking aside, I got a rather sick and nasty one the other day that I was SO stunned and annoyed by that I was that >< close to replying to it! ;oO
It came from one of those random Spam Addresses - you know, the ones with lots of letters and numbers rather than a name or company - and claimed to be from 'Medium Amanda' - who apparently is a Psychic.
I've had stuff in her name before and it has always been harmless enough rubbish and so I've just Junked it without ever being bothered in the slightest by it.
This one though was entitled ... "I can see that you already have Covid-19" ... ! ! !
How appallingly horrible is that? I honestly couldn't care less about such blatant attempts of phishing for business, money and info - but other folk might be far more open and vulnerable to worrying themselves over such calculated rubbish - and that makes me SO mad at the thought of some poor gullible soul somewhere who has also got one of these sent to their personal private Inbox! ... GRRRRRRR!!! ;o<

I don't want to bulk buy them off The Royal Mail if I can help it - as I've had to source and bulk buy so many things recently that my Bank Card has started flinching and bursting into tears every time I get it out! ... HA HA HA HA HA!!! ;o>

Having now read so many shocking horror stories on Curry's Facebook Page I've decided to not quite believe, or get too excited, or pin everything on it actually coming until I get to see the Van pulling up outside - and then see if it has been delivered to me in the immaculate and fully working condition that it should be coming in.
I have already cleared and cleaned out the perfect spot in the Garage for it go in though - and I'll be leaving the Garage Tilting Door up and hoping that they will be delivering it as close to the Garage as possible as I'm not fancying trying to 'walk' (without damaging!) a medium-sized Upright Freezer up our Driveway all by myself.
If it doesn't come, then I'm cancelling, and getting straight onto John Lewis (my preferred first choice of Seller due to their own extended Guarantee on most things) as, ironically, I got an Email Alert off them very late last night telling me that they now have a limited number of these Freezers back in Stock.

I know it's been a while but I just wanted to bob-in to see how you are all managing in such extraordinary times as these - and to pass on to each and everyone of you..."
Hi, Suzy. As always, I'm last with the news - terrible about the sinking of The Titanic, isn't it?
Anyway, great to see you back on here, the page count is going to rattle on up again, now.
Hope you're keeping your head down and staying safe.
Happy Easter, all.

Hiyah P ... x ... it feels great to be back amongst good friends again ;o>

My PO is still open..i could buy a load of stamps and post them off to you (how ironic!)..if you want. I'm going to the PO to post a record off tommorow morn. How many do you need?

Hiyah P ... x ... it feels great to be back amongst good friends again ;o>"
And i'm still waiting for the Mary Celeste & The Flying Dutchman to finally make port!

Ohhh bless you, Poppet - that's a very kind offer but I don't have any need of any now that it's far too close to Easter to be posting any Cards. Mum mentioned something about it to a friend on the Phone this Evening ... more on her part in complaining about just how badly my Dad's sadly been behaving recently towards us both ... and her friend says she'll leave some First and Second Class ones in the Porch when she drives over tomorrow to swap a few Easter Gifts with us.
But thank you very much anyway, Poppet ... x x x

Port? ... now there's a lovely thing to think about ... a really large Tumbler full of Port and Lemonade after our special Easter Lunch on Sunday!
We DO still have Port AND Lemonade in too!!! - YAYYY!!! ;o>

LOl! Typical! But why the heck not gal.....i'm drinking beer to keep myself cool...it's hot oot thar! :)
Right time to crawl into me crib...have a peaceful and blissful night's kip Suzy...it's gunna be even hotter here tommorow..oh lorks! I've already burnt me back...it's April for goodness sake! :)
Night night.

Hmmm, how many bets do I have on me not sleeping though more than a couple of hours, if that, even though I'm SO beyond shattered and knackered that M&D reckon that I look like a Ghost at the moment? - all white-faced with huge dark circles around my Eyes! - LOL!!! ;oO

Been an expensive month here too - extra fridge/freezer, car insurance, 2 tyres on one car and four on the other car plus however much extra I spent on food to make sure that the new freezer was stocked with meals which all adds up to ..... more than I wanted to spend!
Best of luck with getting the new freezer tomorrow - Currys normally use a two-man crew but even a lone driver should have a sack barrow to be able to wheel it right up to your garage.
Hopefully they are unboxing and removing the rubbish for you but, if not, it is far easier to cut the plastic banding and slide the box upwards and off the freezer before it goes into the garage, if it's not just wrapped in polystyrene and plastic of course.
Last but not least on the list of the bloody obvious - get it in position then let it stand for as long as you can before switching it on, so the gasses can settle. We used to tell customers to switch it on before going to bed and stick in an ice cube tray filled with water - if you have ice cubes in the morning then everything is working fine :)
As for the Port, if you run out I might be able to find a spare bottle somewhere in the wine rack but we've definitely not got any lemonade :)

First the utterly fantastic(?) news ... the Freezer actually HAS arrived!!! ;o>
Of course, I haven't plugged it in yet and so, as in perfect condition and as great as it looks, that'll not be of any use to us at all if it turns out that it doesn't work! - LOL!!! - but I'm keeping everything crossed that it will indeed turn out to be the Lifeline that I've been waiting on for so long and needing so much to be able to get us through the next few months of shielding here.
I've become SO fed up of having to keep on secretively stressing over food rationing because I never want for my M&D to also be worrying about not getting Meals on to the Table - and having absolutely no storage for any essentials that can only be bought in from some places as (bargain) bulk-buys. I will be able to fill the Freezer up and get to relax more and breathe a lot easier now ;o>
Thanks for the advice, Grizzly ... x ... yes, I did know about letting a Fridge/Freezer's Gases settle first as I've had to oversee and organise two Flat moves (on the behalf of someone else) in the last 5 years. I have never tried out the Ice Cube test though? - so I'll be giving that a go first thing tomorrow when I plug the Freezer in for the first time and get to switch it on ... Oooh?!! - who knew that a new Freezer could ever be such a HUGE source of immense pride and excitement as this?!!!!!!! ... LOL!!! ;o>
And more absolutely fabulous news! ... I finally managed to get hold of our lovely local Greengrocer a couple of days ago and got a small Order delivered to us. He rang me up first thing this Morning to see if we might be needing anything else over Easter and, on explaining our current situation here, he immediately said that he was now adding us on to his Elderly, Disabled & Vulnerable Priority Customer List! - YAYYY!!! ... ;o> ... ;o> ... ;o>
He really is an absolute Angel of a man. He is currently working all hours of the day and night according to his family posting on his Facebook Page - what with carrying on with running his Business, now taking in so many Orders by Phone, and also co-ordinating a wonderful team of Volunteer Drivers to carry out all of his Doorstep Deliveries. AND I've just been told by the lovely Girl who took my Card Payment that he is personally paying for all of their Petrol Costs and insisting on treating them to their own Groceries rather than passing any Delivery Charges on to his Customers ... and it must surely be costing him a small fortune to be doing this?!! ;oO
These truly are the genuine Salt of the Earth folk that we will continue to remember and to always be grateful for when this Covid Crisis is finally over - for all of their great kindnesses, and their care and compassion at a time when it was never more desperately needed by so many vulnerable people at any one time ... x
He isn't even imposing any kind of a minimum spend limit either?! And, although he has always been a few pence dearer on everything that he sells, the quality of his Produce is always just so fresh and never anything less than superb.
I put in an Order, while he was on the Phone, fully expecting for it to not come until Tuesday now at the earliest - only for him to say that he'll squeeze it in somehow and get it to us by the end of today! And he even apologised to me that it might not be until 8pm tonight if that was alright with us? ... alright?!! ... I couldn't care less what time it is! ... we will now have Potatoes, and Carrots, and Cabbage, and Cauliflower, and Tomatoes, and Cucumber, and Strawberries, and Blueberries, and Bananas, and Apples, and Pears, and ... and ... ! ... WOO-HOO!!! ;o>
The bad news is that I've fallen twice already today and so I'm currently stuck on Bed Rest until my Pain Relief hopefully kicks in a bit (okay, a lot!) more than it is right now ... but, despite this, I can honestly say that I've not felt this happy or so relieved for weeks now ... ;o> ... ;o> ... ;o>

How are you managing there? I was quite shocked to discover that Duke's part of Wales has only just started observing social distancing in his Shops as of only this last week! It doesn't sound like Pembroke has much of a clue as to what is going on elsewhere in the UK and I genuinely worry now that they will get to severely suffer the consequences of not doing it so many weeks ago, well before the Lock-down had even started, like so many other places (including Stockport) thankfully decided to do.
There seems to be a lot of confusion going on in some places as to exactly what self-isolating and shielding really means - which is very worrying as well as we'll never be rid of this Virus anytime soon at this rate ;o<

"I think we need to nominate our street for the sweetest neighbours - set up an Easter egg hunt from the ‘Little Easter Bunny’ in our front yard (complete with beer & espresso martini!) ♥️ Lucky lot, we are!"

We have various Men who are using their outdoor exercise time to dress up as Super Heroes here - Spiderman started it off, and now we also have a Superman and a Batman as well! They go jogging around the Side Roads and pose in the Streets to give the little Kids all looking out from their Front Windows a thrill.
M&D's are telling them that the Super Heroes are here to 'clean' the area and save the day for us all ;o> ... and you can now leave requests on Facebook for anyone of them to turn up outside your House with a donated Cake and a choice of small gift from various Shops if there is a Child who is having a Birthday or going through a particularly hard time in dealing with being in Lock-down.
There are SO MANY good people out there saving the day, every day, for us all ... x
I've just managed to get onto the Ocado website to book a delivery - but there's nothing I need at the moment having already been shopping.
Don't know if this means that things are getting back to normal?
Don't know if this means that things are getting back to normal?

I could well be wrong on this (I hope so!) but I think that maybe a lot of folk are not quite realising yet that the Lock-down isn't going to be ending this Weekend like it was originally suggested that it might be?
There is now finally a lot more Stock showing up as available online and in a few Stores the restrictions limiting buying have also eased off somewhat. Once everyone does get to realise it though, then I'm thinking that there may well possibly be another round of frantic stockpiling and panic buying over the next week or two? - so make the most of it while you can in case it all goes and changes again tomorrow, Grizzly ;o>

And amazing Jason Baird and Andrew Baldock who started all of this off ;o> ...

I had a look just out of curiosity, really, as the cupboards, and both fridge/freezers are all well stocked at the moment. I'll probably only really need to buy perishables over the next week or so anyway. Not only that, half of what I would usually order is currently out of stock and the only slots available for round here were all for tomorrow.
I just thought it would be worth letting people know in case they were able to get on there too if looking for somewhere to get some shopping :)

Burning the candle at both ends means you'll run out of wax twice as fast, Suzy :)

And it's temperature keeps on plummeting SO alarmingly every time that the Door gets opened for anymore than just a few seconds - yet it takes a minute or two just to try and find anything then work out the quickest way possible for me to get at it - LOL!!! ;o>
Oooh!!! - I'm feeling just like a Kid in a Sweet Shop again! ;o>

I'd say more but I've got the best part of half of a whole and rather large Banana rammed sideways into my very happy Mouth at the moment!!! ... (*giggles*) ... ;o>

At any other time, running about in a skintight outfit engaging with other peoples children would not be greeted with such encouragement.

Some of the bigger stores elsewhere in my country had introduced social distancing measures a few weeks ago....but i haven't been to them. It was just my local Co-op..that was perhaps a little late in putting in thiers. Our Co-op isn't very big, and the aisles within it are very narrow...so i guess there was a bit of headscratching done while they were working out how best to do it!
I think...that given we're so far on the west side....well away from most big metropolises (except for Swansea of course)...things have taken a wee while longer to be implemented here. The west side of Wales, has so far, escaped the worse of it, with just 250 odd cases in Pembrokeshire...but thankfully no confirmed faalities to date. Most of the fatalities in Wales have occured on the south east side...what is known as the M4 corridor.
Doesn't excuse the delays by some stores in getting their measures in place..but i guess there is slight somewhat false sense of 'immunity' here...simply because we had so few cases to date. Even the neighbouring counties of Ceredigion and Caramarthen, have had very few cases so far. Ceredigion has 26 reported so far. Carmarthenshire about 200 or so.
One thing i have noticed today..is the marked increase in the number of police cars passing by our house..so clearly the boys in blue are out an about. I have heard that there's been quite a few cars with caravans in tow being turned around already.
How stupid are some people?!

I'd SO love to live in a Neighbourhood where folk did that!!!
Mrs Grizzly decided to dig out all the wicker patio furniture from the shed yesterday so I left her to it. However, looking out the window earlier this morning I see that she has arranged it all very nicely .......
around the bird bath!
While there was no furniture there it was decided to situate the bird bath smack bang in the middle of the patio so it was easier to see birds coming and going. Now it looks like a nice waiting area has been created for the birds whilst waiting their turn in the bath :)
I've had to go and move it to the corner it usually occupies so the table can go back in the middle.

Yeah, it would seem that there's never been a better time to find a Job right now - although it might not be what you were looking for as your first choice of a Job.
I know I'm being a little early on this one but, after everything else that we all are going through, I'm wondering what will happen to all of these Jobs once this is over ... will we end up in then having to deal with yet another huge rise of mass unemployment once again?
