The Ninja thing might be useful, Suzy. The loudspeaker van's just been round again, telling us to be good and stay in (I think, it's quite distorted).
1984, anyone?

After forty (yeah, seriously - I'm genuinely not kidding!) years of M&D constantly prevaricating and obstructing, endlessly arguing and full-on falling out, relentlessly and resolutely digging their Heels in and refusing point-blank to compromise or to back down ... we now FINALLY have got new Carpets throughout the entire House!!! ... WOO-HOO!!! - YAYYY!!! ;o>
After all of that utterly mind-blowing messing around they would only agree on having the exact same Carpet throughout, both upstairs and downstairs, but that's okay with me as I no longer have to ever-so-carefully walk around or step over all of randomly positioned nailed down variety of Rugs and Mats that they suddenly started putting down over a decade ago now - to cover up the worst of the threadbare holes.
And I no longer have to try to avoid catching myself on, and risking tripping over, the sections on some of the Stairs that were being held together with large thick strips of silver Duct Tape either.
And it's actually a really nice top quality Carpet - a plain Leaf Green colour with an extra thick Underlay that really makes for a much more cushioned and far less painful difference when you tend to fall and land on your btm as often as I do these days ;o>
The only thing about it is that, when I was coming downstairs a few days after they finished fitting the last of it, I suddenly was overwhelmed by a incredibly strong sense of deja-vu that took me back for a minute ... really back in fact ... to me being about 3 years old and when we were living in our only other and first family Home ... and to me running all around and playing with my Baby Brother crawling about on ... plain ... Leaf Green ... Carpets throughout the entire House ... ? ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;oO
ARRRGGGHHH!!! ... 40 years! ... forty years! ... FORTY YEARS! ... I've held my peace and often my Breath too in waiting on M&D to FINALLY agree on and pick out some Carpets! ... and after ALL OF THAT they've only gone and picked out an absolutely identical Carpet to one that we've already had before?!!
And it only took them FORTY YEARS to come together to decide on that?!! ;oO
Please tell me that it still isn't far too late now for some other M&D to come along and adopt me?!! ... purleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?!! ;o>

Ohhh how I miss the 80's ... blonde Hair Highlights and blue Eyeliner and Mascara ... and that was just my baby Brother after helping himself to stuff out of my Bedroom while I was at College ;o>

1984, anyone?"
We've not had anything like that here (yet?), Isabella, but I can tell you of one thing that keeps on with confusing me ... we have got the sound of Ice Cream Vans tinkling away almost every day.
We only rarely get to hear and see the Vans coming around the Roads once a week in the Summer and, as much as I would like it to be and as lovely and comforting as it must surely be for the little Kids to have them come now, I am not sure that Ice Cream Vans really do qualify as being an essential Food Delivery?
Not to mention ... it encourages many Kids to run outside and get to excitedly and impatiently stand around quite close together as Kids will do, and to touch and hold onto the Window Ledge of the Van as they wait and then reach up to hand over little fistfuls of Cash and get given loose Change back ... ?
Nope?!! - I hate to come across as a killjoy to the Kids but I really wish that these Vans would stop coming and increasing the risk of contact contamination with Covid in so many of our little Avenues and Side Roads around here ;o<

Are you talking about the fluorescent towelling socks, Blasto? T'was '80s. They were awful! Never had any myself but I might have had a leg warmer or two!! 😁

Suzy, big virtual germ free hugs to you from me (again). You are more than welcome to join our miniscule family. X

It's probably best not to try and tempt me with such wonderful offers right now though - LOL!!! - as my Dad has spent the last week almost driving me completely nuts by going on every hour or so about him still being able to nip out to fetch a Paper or some Milk if we need them - and then getting all upset and frustrated and resorting to yelling at me every time that I have to re-explain and remind him that he can't because we are all in a high risk category and because we are all on a Lock-down.
I really do have to say this though - I am SO damn proud of how incredibly brave and resolutely strong my M&D are trying to keep on with being through all of this ... x
And, to be honest, it's actually more my fault that he can't get this idea out of his Head now because the very painfully sad truth of it is that I did actually have to admit defeat last week and agree to allowing M&D to go out together with a Shopping List to the nearest Shops to us - which damn near broke me to have absolutely no other choice but to let them do so, instead of me going, as I simply can't walk that far anymore, never mind also walk around a Shop and then walk back Home again as well ;o<
Mum had stay outside of the Shops though because she could be marginally more vulnerable than my Dad - due to her lifelong Respiratory issues which means the slightest Cold inevitably turns into being a severe 3 to 4 month Chest Infection - but she still had to go with him because we couldn't be entirely sure if he would be able to remember how to get there and back again all by himself ;o<
However I have Googled far, wide and deep ... and I have at last struck Milk! ;o>
Is there anyone else out there struggling to get any Milk, who doesn't mind if it is Longlife Milk, and is needing to buy it in bulk without having too much restriction placed on them being able to do so? Because I've found us an absolute lifeline in 'Just Milk' and you can either order their Milk directly from their Website, or from NDO Supplies who are their Warehouse Distributors.
Just Milk's Stock seems to be more readily available on NDO most of time and in a little more choice too on the bulk amounts that you can buy - and you can Order more than one type of Milk plus anything else that takes your fancy with NDO and only pay once on the p&p - whereas with Just Milk you can buy Milk several times over but only just the one type of Milk each time and so you will have to pay out on the p&p for each Order.
They aim to deliver within 1 to 5 days and have indeed done so to us twice now within just 2 days - once with a smaller Order I tried out just to check them out first and then I really went for it and bought a huge quantity of both Skimmed and Semi-skimmed Longlife that should safely last us somewhere between 3 to 4 months ;o>
Here are the Links ...

NDO also have some Alpro bulk buys too if you're struggling to buy it anywhere ;o>

Oooh, nearly forgot ... for anyone struggling to buy Meat in ... here's a Link to another Company that was a Lifeline to us a fortnight ago while I was trying to work out how on Earth to get us some fresh Meat. I came across it on Facebook and thought that a lot of the prices weren't too bad compared to so many of the other Meat Supply Companies that I came across online.
If you are a first-time Customer spending £60 you can get £20 off AND Free Delivery as well. I bought a 7lb Boneless Turkey Joint (to cut up into 3 very reasonably sized Joints and then freeze), some Gammon Steaks, some Chicken Fillets, and a Boneless Lamb Joint - and they all came on time as promised, beautifully chilled, and in absolutely excellent condition ;o>
I clicked into the Website through their Facebook Page and used the Code ... FBA20OFF ... but you can also get the £20 off the £60 spend by signing up to their Newsletter and being given a code to use ...

Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from host of the The Late Late Show, James Corden, the hilarious West End and Broadway hit One Man, Two Guvnors is National Theatre At Home’s first free YouTube stream.
Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancée’s dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers.
Holed up at The Cricketers’ Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.
One Man, Two Guvnors was filmed live on-stage in 2011

LOL!!! - I like his style!!! ;o>
I also get where he is coming from and agree with him for the most part - and if I could only find, pay a reasonable price for, and get all of the Ingredients delivered right now then I'd be most definitely be making Carbo-Rona Sauce - as Spaghetti Carbonara is one of my all-time favourite Meals ... seriously yummylicious!
I have to confess though that we actually have a couple of Jars of Pasta Sauce in right now - which are things that we don't really like very much either but it was all that I could get at the time and desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm still hoping that we don't ever need to use them though and that, when all of this is finally over one way or the other, our local Foodbank will still be glad to take them - LOL!!! ;o>

Ohhh Lez! - I'm SO very glad to hear that! I wasn't quite sure whether to post any Lifeline Links up as everyone else that I know of online all seem to be doing okay so far.
Just a heads up ... when I ordered through Just Milk the first time that I tried them out I got several Emails and a Text too from the Courier so I knew the Milk was coming and when and it came within just 2 days as well. I saw that Just Milk had used NDO to process the Order and send it on so I checked them out online, saw that they had even more choice and more Stock available to buy, and ordered through them the second time when I put in my big Order.
I got my Confirmation Email and PayPal Receipt but then heard nothing more for two days until the Milk suddenly turned up on the Doorstep. So if you don't get to hear anything for a few days it doesn't necessarily mean that anything is wrong and it will still be coming.
We love Longlife Milk here and always prefer to use it from choice rather than out of necessity - and I can honestly say that Just Milk Skimmed and Semi-Skimmed are two of the very freshest and most delicious Milks that we've ever bought before. So much so, in fact, that I'm even seriously considering keeping on buying it in like this after the current Crisis is over - even though it is just ever-so-slightly more expensive that buying in Longlife through the Supermarket as multipacks ;o>
All of our Just Milk came dated for use by the 30th of August, by the way.
Hi Suzy, and welcome back :)
Had a 'butchers' at the Campbells meat site and, if I hadn't already filled the freezer I would have given them a try. I just don't have the space now for placing a bulk order.
Just out of interest, what do you think of the quality of the meat you ordered?

Well, it all came delivered in a very neat little insulated Chill Box inside of the outer Box and the separate Vac Packs were all well sealed and the Meat inside was extremely fresh looking and smelling just like fresh Meat should when I opened them up so that I could portion them out into Freezer Foodbags - which we thankfully have always got a plentiful supply of.
The 7lb Turkey Joint looks fab! - it cut up very nicely indeed into 3 large enough Joints and actually weighed in at 7lb 3oz so it came over rather than underweight.
I ordered allowing a week for Delivery and I think that there must have been a shortage on the Dispatch Day of the 12 x 4oz Gammon Rounds because I got sent 8 Gammon Rounds instead - which bothered me a bit at first until I weighed each of them and found that although the weight varied slightly from Round to Round, the lightest 1 was a 6oz and all the rest were between 7 and 7 and a half oz so they may not have given me the portions that I had asked for but they hadn't stinted on giving me the total weight plus a bit more besides.
They never offered up any explanation by Email or on the enclosed Receipt for this substitution on Dispatch but I'm obviously not going to be complaining about it to them. I did notice in the Reviews that if there have ever been any problems they has been swift action on giving Refunds for any missing Items and Replacement Orders sent out as well - which certainly helped to convince me to give them a go.
The Chicken Breasts were an essential buy in for Mitzi (due to her special dietary needs) and they look, smell, and taste great according to her ... and me too as I must admit I have sampled the odd tiny piece ... just for quality control and taste testing purposes, of course! ;o>
I wasn't sure if I had maybe paid a bit too much for the Boneless Lamb Joint? - but when I looked elsewhere online it seemed to be a good price in comparison to all of the other Websites. My Mum absolutely adores a Roast Lamb Dinner and so it was bought as an Easter treat for her as much as anything. It looks great, although I haven't opened it up yet, as it's gone straight into the Freezer as well.
The £20 off a £60 spend with Free Delivery on top made it well worth the while in trying Campbells Meats out as a first time Customer - and I'm very pleased with how it all came and as to what I got ;o>

I first started using it for practical purposes when I was 18 and had just moved into the Nurses Home. There were communal Fridges and Ovens but if you so much as left anything for so much as a minute it would get opened and used or apparently simply vanish into thin air - LOL!!! ;o>
We weren't supposed to have Fridges or any Cooking Devices in our Rooms but many did and for the most part the Superintendant of the Building would look the other way and pretend she hadn't seen them whenever she would do Room Inspections. I couldn't afford a Fridge for my Room so I got used to buying Longlife Milk and keeping it stashed away in the bottom of my Wardrobe.
I soon came to prefer the taste of it to Fresh Milk and my ongoing use of it then went on to encourage and convert M&D over to it as well ;o>

It was said by a frontline Doctor in the US who had posted up her thanks online to the Police Officer who, on hearing she had not got any Face Masks with her while on the way to start her Shift at a nearby Hospital, had immediately handed over a handful of his own ...
"The veil of civilization may be thin but not all that lies behind it is savage ... we are going to be ok"

Are you talk..."
Ha ha yeah thems the ones Helen; ridiculous fluorescent green n orange socks. I'm ashamed to say I remember owning a pair-or-two, tho I don't know where they fit in; I mean they don't go with my 'Mod parker and Fred Perry' stage and neither do they go with the 'Rocker' look - both of which I went through as a kid.
Maybe I wore em with me roller-skate/boot thingies? Nah, nah that thought don't bear thinking about! : )

And I've not been impressed by it ... How do I cancel?
;o>

But anyway - LOL!!! ... here's something that might possibly be a Lifeline to someone who is currently struggling to get any kind of basic essential Groceries delivered to them. I've not tried them out (yet!) so I can't vouch for them based on personal experience - but I have checked them out on Trustpilot and have seen that they have got excellent reviews ...
https://www.beelivery.com/ ... will connect you to independent Delivery Drivers who will deliver what you need to your door ... Snacks, Drinks, Essentials and much more.
They offer same day Grocery Delivery in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, and other places Nationwide - you just put your Postcode into the Search Box and if there is/are Beelivery Driver/s doing Deliveries in your area then you will gain access to the main part of the Website.
It may be a little more of an expensive way to shop, and you may not have the varied choice you are after, or the luxury of getting any of your most preferred Brands delivered - but if you're stuck and needing essential Groceries, can't get a Supermarket Online Delivery, or manage to set-up a Doorstep drop-off courtesy of any family, friends, or Neighbours, then this Grocery Delivery Service may turn out to be the Lifeline that you are looking for? ;o>

#Nadia#Bronx Zoo
Apparently she and 6 lions at the same zoo, have got it..but are expected to make a full recovery.
Just had a quick look at that beelivery (because I'm nosy) and the first page that came up was crisps, chewing gum and chocolates. I swear I've put on three pounds just looking so, thanks for that, Suzy :)
Did notice that they sell Curly Wurlys :)

But not Chocy Brazil nuts GG?!
Dunno - I had to stop looking! :)

I need to move to a new location.....all these delivery services haven't heard of West Wales! None of them, Deliveroo, Ocado, and probably the others i can't be ersed to check out! :)

Suzy will no doubt check that out for herself soon enough Grizzly! :)

Hee, Hee, Hee!!! ;o>
Yeah, I think that the original thinking behind beelivery might have been that it was mainly for Snacks and Alcohol? - and I don't know if others will get to see everything that I've seen available for Delivery for my Postcode?
I was actually quite impressed by the range of goods even though I would obviously be far more selective and picky if I was doing a Supermarket Shop. I can see for the Stockport area that there are plenty of all of the essentials and most of them at reasonable enough prices too - plus there are a few extras that would make for nice treats ;o>
Never mind Milk Chocolate Brazils! - I'd seriously consider selling my Body on a Street Corner right now if I thought it might just possibly get me a Banana!!! - LOL!!! ;o>
You can't get bananas?
I've delivered four or five big boxes of bananas to each of the four Express stores I've delivered to this morning - no shortages down here :)

If it hadn't been for me staying up all day and most of the night on the Internet doing endless searches to try to cobble together some buys of essential Food Stuffs we would very likely have been in serious trouble right now.
That's why I'm posting up these Links for anyone else who might be finding themselves struggling under this Quarantine - and not knowing as to where or who they can turn to for help.

Well, I'm guessing that your Brother and Sister might be able to sort you and your Mum out with any essential Doorstep deliveries of Groceries, Duke? - but if they can't then there is help and support available within West Wales and local Facebook Groups too that can keep you updated on all of the Delivery Services that have been set up as well ...
I found this on Google for you ...

Mind you though..we did get for the first time ever, a fish & chips delivered by our local chippy. They don't normally do deliveries, but obviously under the circumstances, are doing it while this pandemic continues.

Yip..that's the daddy....they even have entire bodies as well! Some even have roofs that fold away even...truely marvelous creations! ;-)

If she is stuck for anything then please let me know - I may not be able to come up with much for her but I'm willing to help in whatever way that I can and always up for a challenge.
The general public seem to be misunderstanding that anyone who is Elderly, Disabled, Vulnerable can just apply to get themselves put onto the Government Register and get all the help and support they need. Sadly though, nothing could be further from the truth - and there are a lot of very scared and distressed people admitting on Facebook that they are in serious trouble with things only getting more and more desperate by the day.

Things change by the day here, Val, as they are probably also doing there in Melbourne - places close, re-open, and then sometimes close again as they struggle to keep up with demand and keep on going when understaffed due to folk suddenly finding themselves having to self-isolate at short notice.
Quite a few places too have chosen to not take on any new customers which has left many folk completely unable to access anything on a local level if they weren't already signed up to getting Milk, Newspaper, or Grocery deliveries already.
I've had a quick look for Somerset and found this, but it is dated the 23rd of March, and so may not be as up-to-date as it could be as so much has changed since the Lock-down started and more places then shut down accordingly ...

Yeah, I know! We have got two of the bloody things currently parked up on our Driveway but sadly we don't have anyone who can drive them anymore ;o<
Skoda Fabia, Sky Blue, immaculate condition inside and out, 5 years old, two careful owners to date, and 13,000 miles on the Clock ... will trade for 1kg of Carrots, 4 large Onions, 2 bunches of Bananas, 6 ripe and juicy Peaches, 4 Pears, and a couple of Punnets of Strawberries and Blueberries!!! ... ;o> ... ;o> ... ;o>

Done! Just a shame we can't conclude this deal until this pandemic has ended!
But seriously, on a sombre note..just seen the news..our PM is in intensive care. Seems to have got worse this afternoon.....not good.
I don't know when or if we've ever lost a PM in office before, should the worse happen; but although I've never been a fan of the man, how tragic it'll be that the man finally aspired to his dream job, could now stand to lose it and his life to this dreadful disease. Hope he pulls through. :(

Ohhh Isabella?! ... it's such an extremely stressful and challenging enough time for everyone right now - for those with families to feed as well as those who live alone, the young and the old, the able and the disabled - and it doesn't help anyone at all that the Supermarkets have made a point of committing themselves first and foremost to only opening up their Home Delivery Slots on a priority basis to the 'Elderly, Disabled and Vulnerable' ... not least because the true reality of it is that they aren't actually doing this at all ;o<
Why? - because they are choosing to base their decisions entirely on whether folk are on the Government Register - a Register that incredibly doesn't allow for almost anybody who is an Elderly, or Disabled, or Vulnerable person to apply to be on it - and it's not only completely wrong but, to my Mind, also a rather cruel thing too for them to suggest that they are doing this ;o<
I keep on wondering and worrying about how many Elderly, Disabled and Vulnerable people there are out there that are still not going to be able to make it through this terrible Crisis even if they do manage not to catch the Covid-19 Virus? ;o<
