You're welcome Tech, whenever you want..or not..should the case be!I'm sending them out to those i think might be interested, but i'm not expecting everyone to join up...so no worries mate.
I'm going back into Hospital again first thing tomorrow but it will only be just for a few days and I've been promised a much nicer Ward Unit with a far better choice of Meals this time around so ...
Morning all...decidely cooler today, but still bright & sunny.Best wishes to you Suzy, lets us know what 'improvements' you find this time around! lol!
You know....despite a few minor ops that i have had in my time, i've never yet had cause to be a 'in patient', just an out patient, so i've not had the pleasure (or not!) of hospital food yet.
The quality of it. seems to vary from hospital to hospital, so i gather.
Right, had breakfast..back to the coalface.
Note to oneself......don't forget to post my tips for the AFL footy thread *scribbles on a piece of paper*
See ya laters. :)
Definitely cooler overnight, but still quite warm as the day progresses - aircon is still working overtime :)
suzy - hope you don't have to stay in the hospital too long :)

Probably not.
Came downstairs last night to sort out my packup for work to find Phoebe sat in the middle of the lounge with a smug look on her face and her collar on the floor in front of her.
Somehow she had managed to adjust it then slide it over her head as it was still done up, so I readjusted it and spent half an hour chasing her round the lounge before finally managing to get it back on her :)

Ha! :)
Phoebe is not one for staring when she wants something - she tends to wind her way between my legs when I'm walking around or, as she is doing now while I am sat down trying to type, just keeps pushing her head under my arm until she gets her own way or I push her off the arm of my chair! :)

Have you ever watched any of the Simon's Cat cartoon on YT GG..they're hilarious! The artist is cat lover too, but is no stranger to the idiosyncratic ways of those furry felines! :)Here's one...

Sorry folks but I gotta sing t'other half's praises a tad. Jayne's bagged herself a First Class Honours Degree in Nursing. All the more special as she has mild dyslexia!! Go Girl!!! Great to have summat to cheer about. So very proud of me lass! Err, as you were. : )
Well done Jayne!!!!!! First Class Honours is phenomenal! She must have worked very hard for that. She deserves all your praise and more so shout it from the rooftops. You go girl!
Totally agree :)
That's a fantastic achievement when having to cope with dyslexia as well.

With it being consistently cooler at night now, I've had to fully close the lounge, kitchen and dining room windows that have been on the latch now for the past few months.
Might even have to consider a quilt on the bed too instead of just a sheet :)
It's still not as bad as a lad at my first delivery was making it out to be yesterday morning - he was stood there wrapped up in a big coat, shivering and complaining that "It's Winter!"
Stood there in (yep, you guessed) shorts and t-shirt, I told him to stop being such a wuss, it's only September - you'll know it's cold when I'm wearing trousers!

We're still getting good daytime weather with temperatures trying to nudge into the 20s, though rain is forecast this week.
Already done a trip to the tip to get rid of all the packaging from the new appliances and sofa and fuelled up Mrs Grizzly's car on the way back. Once the sun has taken the dampness off the grass I'll be out there to give it a quick mow - maybe the last one for a while?

Thanks you lovely folk! I shall show J your messages. Just thought I'd brag her off a bit. Weather in the Chesterfield area is quite pleasant at the moment. Just kicked the ball about with our youngest on back lawn and in the sun it's even hot I'd say. A few years time and we'll be having warm Decembers no doubt.
Yes, fairly warm here too now the wind has died down, just a hint of early morning chilly starts and autumn waiting in the wings. I'm with Suzy on autumns, conkers, frosty mornings as the leaves turn to an explosion of red, brown and yellow of every shade and hue all soaked in foggy dew, wooded glades trimmed with mysterious fairy rings of mushrooms, flocks of starlings gathering like storm clouds before they fly off to warmer destinations, squirrels laying in their winter stores darting to and fro in determined toil while hedgehogs take refuge in hedgerows and thickets scrunched up in bundles of leaves to sleep through the winter days ahead. The harvest is gathered, orchards ripe and ready for the picking and pruning, children race from one puddle to the next, deep and muddy with laughter and joy, splashing carelessly in wellies, hats and scarves. Old men with dogs in tow trudging through parks and country lanes, sighing heavily as cold seeps into old bones, feeling more aches with each passing year. Hallow's Eve and Yuletide are still to come before the New Year is born again which with faith and hope we will rejoice and celebrate with family and friends once more.
Many congrats to Jayne! 1st Class Honours is a big enough achievement at any time, but to get one as a 'mature' student, full-time mum and with dyslexia is just fantastic!
Cheers Lez. Not to mention coping with a mental like meself all this time! : ) She has indeed done herself and us proud and sets a pretty good example for others in similar situations I'm reckoning.
Another nice day in this neck of the woods, talking of which, a lot of the trees round here are about to lose their leaves which are rapidly assuming all the colours you associate with Autumn :)
Oh, the majority of the trees round here do still sport green leaves, but I was on the road from Downham Market to Thetford yesterday where you pass through a large wooded area and that's where the coming of Autumn is especially noticeable :)
As I was heading out anyway to do some shopping, I decided to call in at the village chemist to place an order for my repeat prescription, intending to pick it up on Monday on my way home from work.
No sooner had I walked in than the lady behind the counter turned to the shelving next to her and picked up a bag - "There you go, your prescription. We knew you'd be in at some point this week."
How's that for service?

September continues to be in a pleasantly clement mood weather-wise, progress on laying the vinyl flooring is proving to be slow and arduous, mainly down to my lack of expertise it's been a bit trial and error but the dining room is almost finished. Mrs O' seems fairly positive with the results despite earlier reservation, the only downside is she has now plans for the rest of the house to be fitted out accordingly!
Have you learned nothing, Martin?
You're supposed to do a really shoddy job so you don't get asked to do any more and can instead sit down and relax with a beer 🍺

Apparently, it's only 20 degrees outside, but it feels a lot warmer to me. Starting to get those misty, murky nights now :)

How true!
I space out doing the list of DIY house jobs i get, sparingly...so i don't 'loaded' wiv 'em! :)

Yes, my dad was a master at pulling that one much to my poor old mum's despair! There are some things that require the GALMI touch but I do get a sense of satisfaction at being able to admire my own handiwork when a project turns out not a complete disaster!
Don't know if any one saw the Daniel Radcliffe Who Do You Think You Are on the box recently? Part of the investigation led Dan to a distant cousin whose father had been a brother to Dan's Grandfather. Showing Dan an old picture of his father in uniform, the resemblance between them was very striking.
Thanks for the heads up Martin. I didn't know there was a new series. I shall look out for it when it makes its way downunder. I am a great admirer of Daniel Radcliffe's acting, going back to 1999's David Copperfield.
Well i hope our dear Suzy is doing okay...as it's been 2 weeks since she last posted on here.....it's awfully quiet when she's not around, isn't it?!Hope you're okay, sweetpea.
Suzy did say that she wasn't sure how long she would be offline for, but I don't think she intended to be gone this long.
Like Duke says, hope everything's OK, suzy :)

What a nice day it's turning out to be - bright sunshine and easily warm enough for me to be pottering around the garden without a top on, even with the slight breeze :)
Am struggling to get my AFL punt in; each time I try, it refuses and just puts up loads of code. NOW I see the Matrix that is Goodreads! I AM The One!! Gonna try once more and if it again fails, I'll put in my scores here and hope some kind person transfers em.
EDIT - Working fine now, punt is in. That put paid to those delusions of grandeur rather quickly. : (
Same thing happened to me when trying to post this morning, but not on the Aussie footy. Has also happened on a few other occasions too.
Had thought that maybe it was something I was doing wrong which is why I hadn't bothering mentioning it.

Another gorgeous Autumn day here - warmed up quickly once the sun rose. The garden is now rather empty of Starlings, though plenty of Sparrows still around and Doves too.
A Robin has decided to put in an appearance too - I've been hearing him(?) singing all morning but a little while ago he landed on one of the solar lanterns on the edge of the patio just to make sure he had been seen as well as heard :)

:-) Daja Vu, i think, GG..lol!
Yep, it's just one gorgeous day after another here 😀
We had a surprise visitor in the garden yesterday, frightening off all the other birds - a Sparrowhawk.
Stood looking out of the kitchen window, all I saw at first was a shadow dropping down from the roof of the house and straight into the large bush by the shed, resulting in birds flying off in every direction.
A few seconds later, the Sparrowhawk emerged from the bush and perched itself on the nearest solar lantern and there it sat for a minute or so before plunging once more into the greenery.
Having found no large amount of feathers or grisly remains, I assume that it missed its' intended prey.

Starting to get a little worried about our sweet Suzy..she's been gone a long time now. I thought she was just going into hospital for a few days?
Spooky duke,I've just sent Suzy an email sending good wishes and hoping she is out of hospital now,I've sent her a funny picture of one of my little beasties, hopefully will cheer her up.
Yeah..well she did say she'd only be gone for a short while...it's been nearly a month now..hope she's alright too.
