It was good, wasn't it? I know time moves on and that it is good to see new generations also getting to enjoy The Magic Roundabout - but I still think that the original show that I watched as a child was the very best version of all ;o>
I never had the Characters but for some reason I did have some of the Trees?!! I think that they were probably included in a big box of second-hand Lego that was given to my Brother ;o>
'magic roundabout' was great! totally spaced out, especially the rabbit. what was mr thompson smoking?nearly as good as camberwick green, with windy miller getting pished on home brewed cider (booze for babies?) - everybody all together;
"mister murphy is a masterbaker" :) nae wunner i grewed up warped!
Richard Briers narrating Roobarb And Custard was another that always made me chuckle. I always though that they should have been on after the news to cheer us all up.
So, it took some doing, but I have finally managed to track down my friend's final resting place - and it looks and sounds online to be just such a perfect place for her to be which really does help to bring great comfort to me.It is on a Farm, in a nearby Village to here, in a rather small but incredibly beautiful wildlife habitat that is dedicated to being a natural burial site - and, as soon as the weather improves and I feel more up to it, I will be going to take her flowers and to sit with her a while. There is no Headstone, which I already knew would be in complete keeping with her own strongly-held personal wishes - her grave is apparently marked very simply just by having a small stone Cat on it ... x x x
I love all the lovely snail pictures. They're so cheerful!. Suzy I am horrified by the loss of your chocolate nibbles. Firstly by the loss of chocolate, then by the method of loss. I hope the shipping company investigates their warehouses. We've had a thaw. Most of the snow is gone and it rained. It's colder now so we have ice rinks everywhere. No yay.

I must admit that I find it rather hard to believe that any kind of machine could cause such damage to a Parcel as it was in perfect condition except for the two large holes that had lots of tiny puncture marks all around them and they clearly looked to me like they had been gnawed through and then pulled open.
I have been a Pet owner all my life and have had several naughty Puppies that just loved to chew open then tear cardboard boxes apart - and the Parcel damage most definitely looked far more like an Animal had done it's very best to try to get into it, to me.
However, after sending the Seller the Photos they requested, I was immediately issued a Refund without any need to return the Order which I then put straight into our Food Bin for obvious health and safety reasons.
So I disappointingly missed out on my 'attack of the munchies' Chocolate Nibbles treat but at least I got my money back ;o>

Kitty litter and sand strewn over the ice help with traction. Sunlight also heats the particles so they bind in the ice and speed the melt. It is annoying and stupid because we penguin-walk everywhere. The ice fishermen are delighted because it's cold without snow so boring the iceholes is easy work. No shoveling needed.

I've started rereading the Wheel of Time series. I have some new books but all of a sudden dove back into the tale of Rand Al' Thor and the Aes Sedai. It's been years since I finished them but starting over is fun, no waiting for the next book to be published this time.
Stay warm, everyone! Chocolate to ward off Dementors.
I knew my children were growing up in an environment lacking in cultural diversity when I had to drive along the Soho Road in Birmingham once on the way home from my parents'. The elder Little Miss D (5 or 6 years old at the time) looked out of the car window and saw a woman in full burqa taking her baby to the shops. She said "Look, a dementor with a pram!" Cue much parental embarrassment. Fortunately the windows were closed and nobody outside heard her.

When we moved here there was a long list of regulations including:
Only one dog per household but you could have 2 cats.
No rabbits.
No ‘exotic’ pets.
Only twirly clothes-lines allowed.
No garden fires.
No cars parked on the road.
I don’t know what fate befell you if you disobeyed, or indeed how they would know.

That sounds like typical Homeowner's Association (HOA) rules for suburban neighborhoods. The HOA leaders get nasty about originality and lawn mowing and flags and campers and flower types and curtains and everything. It can be ridiculous. My city allows three pets. We have two dogs and a cat. We can't have patrol geese or lawn sheep. Just think how eco-friendly it would be to have sheep maintaining the grass length.
But are they trained to EAT on command, Suzie?;0)
Well, right on cue as predicted, the snow has arrived once again here. Temperature was -1, but risen a little higher. My feet are even colder. No wind, steady snowfall. Hope it doesn't hang around this time. How far away is Spring, I wonder?
Went to foot clinic appointment yesterday. Nurse asked if there were any issues. I told her, Yes - my feet were perishing freezing. She had to agree. No problem there as they have underfloor heating! Didn't want to put my socks and shoes back on again.
Is it any wonder some animals hibernate through this type of weather. It takes ages to get your bed lovely and toasty, then it's time to get up again and let it go cold! Something doesn't compute there...
Quite agree there P, sometimes evolution gets it completely wrong!Down here in sunny Northamptonshire we seem to have escaped so far, it's a bit chilly but dry and bright.

Yes, actually they are! ;o>
They have obviously got us well-trained to feed them every 5 hours throughout the day - LOL! - but when we do feed them we tell them to "sit" and to "wait" while we put their Food down in front of them ... and they will indeed wait, albeit with much trembling of excitement and giving out funny little whimpers of anticipation, until we say "okay" before racing forward and diving into their Bowls ;o>
