Worth bearing in mind once he has actually moved out!!

As things haven't gone to plan, he's still here, for 'a few more weeks'

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments We have Dual Fuel, wanted at least a year at a Fixed Rate and didn't want a Smart Meter - and they were not only the Top Pick on MSE Energy Club but also the only ones offering just what we were after.

M&D are so relieved to have it all sorted - we set it up at 6am this morning and have received our Welcome Pack and all of the Switchover Info already ;o>

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments I'm having SUCH an exciting day ... I've helped M&D switch Energy Suppliers, given Mitz a Bath (God knows what she rolled in but I had to try my best to hold my Breath for the first 10 minutes!), saved a little Moth from drowning in the Kitchen Sink, hosed out the Wheely Bins, trimmed my Dad's Eyebrows for him, cleaned behind the back of the Oven and the Fridge, spent almost half an hour searching for the very best of online Deals on Sellotape, and just bought M&D a pack of 50 Suspension File Plastic Tabs & Paper Inserts off eBay ...

Do you remember being repeatedly asked what you wanted to be when you were older? - and standing around leaning against a Wall in the School Playground and wondering what life would be like once you were all grown-up? ... Hmmm? - I don't recall ever thinking that it might be as exciting and as meaningful as this?!! - LOL!!! ;o>

Three sopping wet Bath Towels and Mitz STILL feels damp? ... I think it's time for me to pull out all the stops, go for the Hair Dryer, and become a Dog Grooming Stylist for the next 20 minutes! ;o>

Right, M&D seem to have entered a state of total zombification in front of the TV ... so the Oven is on and we are all going to be having Chunky Fish Fillet Butties followed by Fruit Salad.

message 5017: by [deleted user] (new)

(*raises said glass*) ... CHEERS! :)

Had a wander round the shops earlier, including Poundland where I picked up a Honeycomb Twin Peaks Bar - not bad, but I won't be rushing to buy another one :)

Best bargain was the fillet steak - last four pieces on the counter so I asked how much. They were weighed and worked out at £20. The butcher said that as they were the last of the fillet and looking a little bit dry, he'd do them at half price so I only paid a tenner.
As I was walking away, I said "They won't be so dry once I get them in some garlic butter!" :)

Kinda.....the building has settled slightly to one side, over the years ..pushing the framework out to a rhomboidic shape, so no matter how one tries to line up the doors...squares don't fit in a rhomboid very well. Fortunately, the doors do till close okay. From the photo i put up today...the doors look alright from outside...however, internally..they're as wonky as shite!

It's not possible to get everything squared up again, without doing major surgical alterations to the building's structure...and i ain't doing that! I got enough to be getting on with!

So.....having put my 'Mr Ingenuity' hat on...i'm going do a cheat. The doors will be reclad on both sides..so i'll just the cut new boards at a slight angle, so it'll create the illusion of squareness, once again. Inside, i'll fit door jambs to cover the uneven gap at the top, and re plyboard the inside of the doors, again, at a slight angle. And after i've got me new table saw..i'll cut two wedge shaped infills..to stick in between the new angled cladding...and the job will be gud 'un. Nobody will able to tell the difference...unless i tell everybody on here.......ah bugger! :)

There's always a way around these little niggles! :)

I've had egg & piggy butties though! :)

I've got some fingered fishies (oo-er!)..and some bread....and some Tartare sauce too, which prefer much more than Tomato sauce. I'll make one tommorow.

Does anything else go in a fish finger butty Suzy?

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments You're not alone, Poppet ... my persistent OCD can kick in at any time, and especially when I am stressed out and in more pain than usual, and when it does I can't bear to see things moved around and looking misplaced from the positions I have them in.

And don't get me started on repeatedly having to check and recheck and recheck again that the Back Door is definitely locked last thing at night! ;oO

If you ever do make it to the Nut House then I'll very likely already be there making sure for the 20th time that they really did lock the Door!!!

Well I had a really wonderful friend (who used to hang out on the Religion, Politics, and Philosophy Forums on Amazon) who insisted that it should be Mayo on the ultimate Fish Finger Butty and NOT Ketchup? ... and we had such a hysterically funny ongoing battle about that for many years! - LOL!!! - as I absolutely hate Mayo and he was absolutely determined to do all he could to try to convert me over to it ;o>

I like two thin slices of Brown Bread, only very lightly buttered, and sometimes I spread Ketchup on them and other times I put a generous squirt on the side of my Plate instead for dipping into. Then, for me, it's just the Fish while it is still warm and a good grind of Black Pepper ;o>

You could take it to the next level though? ... https://www.birdseye.co.uk/our-brands... ...

I've now got a vision of a rather bemused and bewildered Duke sat in his Kitchen ever-so-tentatively nibbling on a Fish Finger Butty - and still wondering just what on Earth the appeal and all of the fuss about them is about? - LOL!!!

I hope that you are pleasantly surprised by how yummy it is though, Duke ;o>

Fish finger butties are nice (with brown sauce, thank you very much!) but you can't beat a chip butty with the chips straight out of the oven so that the butter melts all over them - delicious :)

suzysunshine7 | 16052 comments It's sort-of hot, and spicy, and sweet, and fruity'ish?

I've only ever had it a scarce few times and I'm not much of a fan.

HP Sauce has a Tomato base blended with Malt Vinegar and Spirit Vinegar, Molasses, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Sugar, Dates, Cornflour, Rye Flour, Salt, Spices and Tamarind.

Martin O' | 2196 comments Let's hear it for the mighty Worcester Sauce then......

WOO... WOO... WOO... WORCESTER!!!

I used to like tartare sauce but find the flavour bit too strong and much prefer fish without these days so you can really taste the fish.
Fish finger butties and scampi are an exception, for extra flavour try adding baked beans Duke.... just a suggestion!
