TwoddleBungler | 186 comments Hi folks. Not exactly sure how this works. Perhaps a review of the rules would be useful for beginners like me.
Here's what I think they are:
1. Must be band or singer/songwriter (pop rather than e.g. classical. What genres are allowed?)
2. Latest one must be solved before a new one posed.
3. Setter must confirm solution (?)

Questions:
1. Can anyone give a new code once the latest is solved or must it be the person who solved it?
2. What happens if no-one can solve it?

Cheers

TwoddleBungler | 186 comments I agree with Shed Seven so, in case I'm allowed, here's my first attempt.

Topless beauty, according to Keats, gets out of sorts. (singer/songwriter)

nocheese | 6824 comments Hi Twoddlebungler, welcome!

I'll try to explain, the original rules are lost in the mists of time, or rather they disappeared along with the amazon threads.

Although we tend to stick to bands and artists, anything music-related in any genre goes. Sometimes it's an album or a song. As long as you say what you're looking for in brackets.

The person who solves the code sets the next one. One code at a time.

It's OK to go ahead without confirmation from the setter as long as you're sure you're right.

We keep on giving hints until someone gets it, we've never been stumped yet, as far as I can remember.

It's really my turn, as I'm sure I'm right with Shed Seven, BUT since I haven't got anything prepared, and to welcome you to the fold, I suggest we go with yours. it looks interesting.

TwoddleBungler | 186 comments Is it Ruth Moody?

Correct! Too easy I see!

I'm not sure I'll find it so easy to unravel other people's codes though. I probably wouldn't have got to (Shed S)(even) without seeing your solution.

message 317: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments It was a clever code, Twoddle, I just got lucky. (A quirk of this group is to refer to 'codes' rather than 'clues').
