TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments I'll bet 19 to 36 will lead you to them if you know what I mean! (band)

message 1955: by TwoddleBungler (last edited Jul 26, 2019 04:47PM) (new)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Slight edit but not very significant. It just indicates that a certain amount of knowledge is required.

I'll bet 19 to 36 will lead you to them if you know your stuff! (band)

Not there yet nc but you're on the right metaphorical ladder. Two more steps to go - That's not cryptic, the band has nothing to do with Steps or ladders!

I'll bet 19 to 36 will lead you to them if you know your stuff! (band, two words)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Not The Evens.

I'll bet 19 to 36 will lead you to them if you know your stuff! (band, two words)

Hint: This is not the usual cryptic clue. First you need to know what the numbers 19-36 are called in roulette - they have a name*. This name will lead you to the name of the band in question.

_____________________
* Not sure how I know - I've never played roulette! It's a pretty obvious name though - nothing esoteric.

message 1960: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments Looks like no one on here has ever played roulette either. The only name for 19-36 I can find is 'high', and I can't think of a band, so in case they actually do exist I'll try:

High Hopes?

Not them but getting warmer! You have one of the words (of the intermediate name - not of the final answer).

New hint

1. Find the name of 19-36 in roulette (you are nearly there)
2. This will give you a phrase (3 words)
3. The three-word name/phrase will lead you to the two-word answer.
