Does Anfield have a racecourse nc?

message 708: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments Oops, not so fair after all then. I suppose I must have been confusing it with Aintree. I'm totally ignorant about all sport, should steer clear. My abject apologies.

Sj Brooke | 2519 comments Haha! Knew you must mean Aintree! :)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments I've rapidly come up with this one. Should last about 2 minutes!

message 730: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments Well, I thought of that earlier, but couldn't quite see how it fitted. Still not quite getting it.

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments What have you got so far?

message 732: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments East for oriental, and ermm, that's about it, apart from a parade being a sort of show, maybe.

message 733: by TwoddleBungler (last edited Apr 03, 2018 11:34AM) (new)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Oriental = Eastern
Travelling show = show that moves along = parade.
Has gone north = North has gone = remove 'n'.

(Makes sense to me! But then I'm not a crossworder)

message 734: by Sj (new)

Sj Brooke | 2519 comments Fair nuff Twoddle....makes perfect sense to me, now :)

nocheese | 6824 comments Pinetop Perkins?

message 742: by Sj (new)

Sj Brooke | 2519 comments You know it is nc :)

message 743: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments Well, 99.9% sure, Sj. In trying to equate Perkins with children, I discovered that it is slang for a pimp, and also for an unfortunate accident which can occur during intimacy.

Scan round, he needs the dough by the sound of it (jazz artist).

message 744: by Sj (last edited Apr 08, 2018 03:49PM) (new)

Sj Brooke | 2519 comments Oh sorry nc, I see why you were unsure now.....
nowt to do with pimps or 'accidents'
here's the breakdown for my code
Evergreen ~ Pine
hat ~ topper
children ~ kins

message 745: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments Ah yes all clear now, ta 😀

Pedants corner, I'm pretty sure that the plural of kin is the same as the singular 'kin':-)

message 747: by Sj (new)

Sj Brooke | 2519 comments You are right of course Derek, in trying to keep my code brief I did take a bit of a liberty there. I'd convinced myself that there would be a way of using 'kins' in a sentence somehow.
