The Portrait of a Lady
question
Isabel decides to go back

I read The Portrait of a Lady months back, and was gripped by the thought regarding Isabel's return to her 'old' life. She could have stayed back and been with Goodwood, or by herself, but she chose to keep her promise to Pansy. I wonder what happened after that. Did she live the same life, or the new step daughter-mother relationship turn out to be a game changer!
