Russell Midgley Unbroken is the true story of an incredible man named Louie Zamperini. It follows his life as he grows up a troublemaker, but then goes on to become a famous Olympic Athlete. He was then drafted into the military, but when his plane fell from the sky, his nightmarish experience began. Louie and his friend survived at sea on a raft for 47 days before being captured by the Japanese. He survived a number of Japanese prison camps, but was eventually rescued at the end of the war. After the war he had some drinking problems, but eventually he quit and lived until he was 97 years old.
I personally had a good experience with this book. I read it on a car ride, and it was an incredible experience. Definitely a good read.
I personally think this was a phenomenal book. I loved the author's writing style and the way she portrayed Louie's life. I especially loved the way he added statistics that made you wonder how Louie survived in the end. A great plot line.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is going through a hard experience. It can make your experience seem easier. Or you can just read it for fun.
I have read 100% of this book.
