I don't think you and Dragan are looking for the same thing since yours is a short story, but your post reminded me of this thread:

Barry, what's the common theme or genre of this short story anthology? For young adults (teens) or older adults?
By a single or multiple authors?
By a single or multiple authors?

I've checked the anthologies I own and it's not in them. This means it was probably a random anthology I borrowed from the library once.
The story was a bit of a mind-screw so I can't tell you the genre of the anthology.
I don't associate any other railway stories with it so it's not likely that the book was about Weird Railway Stories.

Without reading it I can't be certain but I'll check out the plots of the other stories and see if they ring any bells.

I believe the title of the story was the name of the station.
I believe the story started with the conductor on the train announcing the station and the protagonist, a regular traveller on the line, being confused because he had never heard of it or seen it before.
The station goes on to appear and disappear during further trips. Much is made of it (not) appearing on a timetable, much like The Commuter.
It was in an anthology from pre-2000.
