I need help finding a book!

I read a book around 10 years ago about a large family who lives in the country. They have a capable farmer neighbor who often helps the family out. The dad dies and the daughter marries the neighbor. She is in love with him but he believes she married him out of obligation and keeps her at a distance. His brothers widow visits with her son and the young wife engages in an affair. She becomes pregnant and runs away where she gets a job and a place to live but ultimately has a miscarriage. The man goes to find his wife and welcomes her home.

I don't know how accurate this description is, it has been a while. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
