So the brother of the 4th order following around Lyrna was the one who tried to kill Vaelin earlier in the book. He mentions encountering him twice though. I don't recall the other time.
And I called it on Lyrna getting healed. I should have guessed it would be weaver. We learned in the first book that he can heal scars.
So was that the priest who abused Riva that tried to kill her?
Overall I really loved this one too. Despite it being very different from the first in structure.

I remember thinking when part 5 started "Weaver hasn't used his rope yet, what gives?" And then there he is in the right place and the right time.
So, so good. Absolutely cannot wait for the next installment to come out. So many great story lines to work with. Vaelin losing his blood song, possible love triangle with Dahrena, him and Lyrna, what happens when everyone learns Frentis killed the king, will Caenis continue being a pouty baby, how Lyrna and Reva work together (or not).
The Frentis reveal is the part I look forward to the most.
And we still don't know what was said between Vaelin and the aspect of the 7th order.

Think we'll get any other character views in the next one like Caenis or Nortah? Would dig that, for sure. Just hope he doesn't over extend himself trying to tackle too many
I think 4 (not counting the chronicler's interludes) is a good number of POVs. If he's really going to finish things in 3 books, any more would be too much.

Yeah, but often times it makes release day that much sweeter. What seems to have happened to me in the last few years is I numb some of the pain from waiting by reading entirely too many series such that there always seems to be a new book in a series I enjoy coming out every few months or so.

I assume we'll see her in the third book along with the mason. But maybe not.
Seems like Vaelin has enough love interests though.

True ... so is it confirmed that it will be a trilogy? Wonder how successful it's been so far and if that will influence whether or not he extends the series.
I never really understood the love interest with Sherin. Always thought Lyrna was the better match and more intriguing character. But I guess that's kinda how love is, you don't really understand it. I'd have to agree that we'll see her at some point in the third book.
I haven't seen anything definitive about it being a trilogy. I did see somewhere (his wiki page maybe?) that he signed a 3 book deal.

I could tell from all your comments along the way! ^_^

One thing I do like is that the whole of Verniers account while he's accosted is about the later part of the siege. So we get the enemy's POV on events that only happen towards the end of the book before they merge.

I can't say without pictures :) But it will be 5 stars once I get to the review.

I'm like 80% sure that nocking an arrow means you've loaded it, and notching an arrow means you've carved a little groove into its surface. Not that it took much away from the book, just something that gave me pause...

From wikipedia:
Nocks[edit]
The nock is a notch in the rearmost end of the arrow. It serves to keep the arrow in place on the string as the bow is being drawn. Nocks may be simple slots cut in the back of the arrow, or separate pieces made from wood, plastic, or horn that are then attached to the end of the arrow.[16] Modern nocks, and traditional Turkish nocks, are often constructed so as to curve around the string or even pinch it slightly, so that the arrow is unlikely to slip off.[17] In English it is common to say "nock an arrow" or "notch an arrow," when one readies a shot.

There may be an outside chance that I'm just bitter that I paid for that advice, and must therefore tear down anything that contradicts it.

And I cal..."
I was wondering pretty much the whole book where we had seen that 4th order guy before but I couldn't be bothered to post a question. I think it was revealed here that he was the guy who was imprisoning Sherin. After he hit her Vaelin proceeded to rearrange his face :D
Weaver can heal scars? It's been a while since I read book 1 and I don't think his power was mentioned here. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand it's pretty convenient that Lyrna just immediately goes back to being the 'beautiful princess'. On the other hhand I like Lyrna and I want her to be happy.
Weaver healed scars of the brother of the sixth order who fled in the first book. His name starts with a N I think.

Nortah? Did he heal Vaelin too, in the Ruined City after the encounter with Sella's cat?

So are we sure Vaelin's blood song is gone, and just not temporarily diminished from overusing it while storming Alltor? It's gone when he is in the room with Eleverah, but Eleverah comments that the song doesn't work there. It's unclear if he is able to use it when the General's wife is being questioned. He shows some pain from the effort, but not sure if it is pain from successfully or unsuccessfully trying to use it.
So the 2 zealots that attacked Lyrna included the Priest that trained Reva?
Any idea when book 3 comes out

If I recall, the black arrow was thought to be the leader of religious zealotszealots in the woods. Vaelin and his brothers were sent in to stop them, and after an encounter the black arrow is assumed dead.

Sorry to be late to the party. I'm reading/listening to TL again before QoF and I don't remember what happened to Davoka. Does anyone remember?
