You can always write your bio like this "J.L started their writing career as blah blah. J.L soon developed a passion for ... blah blah. J.L is currently working on ... blah blah"

I've seen a lot of authors with images of things that were obviously not them, so that, you probably don't have to worry about. As for keeping gender neutral,you could always do a first person bio and say 'I" or do third person and refer to "the author" and your name.
