Hi Nick,
I ended up buying the Kindle version and read it in one sitting. Started in the afternoon and finished it a 5 a.m. 5 star book if ever I've read one! Loved everything except the way it ended.

Hi Carmen,
I've run across several comments about If I Stay. What did you like about it? I may add it to my TBR list.

I've found it's better if I don't do that. Then when a favorite scene isn't in the movie, I don't get disappointed. I can enjoy the movie more as just a movie than as a book I loved adapted.

"Orbit" by John J. Nance. Haven't read anything by him yet.

It is good so far. A routine passenger flight into low orbit becomes not-too-routine. Lots of action and th author has bothered to do his tech homework.

An interesting and modern take on the Frankenstein Monster. If a person is truly animated by the soul, then what animated the Frankenstein Monster?

That's the next book on my list :)"
Do you find Joe Hill like Stephen King or good on his own?

His story ideas, somewhat, but his writing, no. I think he's probably gone through a lot to not "sound" like his dad in in his work.

I'll bet it's hard to be the child of someone so successful, especially if you decide to follow the same career path. I'm going to give his first book a try.

I loved that series. I just dug it out of my bookcase to lend to a friend yesterday.

The book is Port Royal by V.W. Singer, I'm loving it so far!

I just finished the above - an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award winner. And I can't believe how bad it is! Nothing new or fresh or intriguing or thrilling or mysterious. Certainly not breakthrough in any way. Moreover, the author must have been born after 1978 because she seems to confuse the 70's with the 50's. I can not imagine how this book won anything.
Currently reading Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan of the Apes."

Just finished Tom Clancy's Op Center: War of Eagles.

I liked Weaveworld.

Here's my review of Weaveworld. I thought it was great. If you want to avoid some spoilers (though it's pretty general) just read the first and last paragraphs.
