Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments Food & Drink
Not going crazy this time around. I just don't feel like it! We've got an EveryPlate box coming today and will have one meal left for Saturday's supper or we'll order out. Hitting the grocery store Friday after a long sleep in, took the day off! Basically just going to go with some Chex Mix, fresh veggies and fruit, cheese and crackers. We just got back from a winery tour in upstate New York so if I want to sleep, I have wine. lol. Wine makes me so tired but I might indulge in a glass or two.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments Pre-Readathon Goals
So before the readathon starts I want to...read. lol. I have 2 books I would really love to finish before 8pm tomorrow night and with taking tomorrow off from work, I'm thinking I can achieve that.
Gods of Jade and Shadow 35% through
Unqualified : love and relationship advice from a celebrity who just wants to help 50% through (audio)

This is always a thing. I want to finish everything I have ongoing so I can start fresh for the readathon. During the 24in48 I didn't even get to my readathon TBR until the second day. This time I'm just going to put my current reads aside and get back to them on Sunday. I think. lol

For 24in48 I also just read whatever I was currently reading because I wasn't very far into them. I don't think I read anything else in addition! lol.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments Helllooooo!! (in my best Mrs. Doubtfire voice which I do often at work)

So I've been purposely staying off of the laptop. I've only been posting the hourly photos on Instagram (@weezielemoo). I read hard from 8pm-2am. I read Star Wars: Lando's Luck and got halfway through Cape May. Then I slept in bed from 2am-5am, got up, and laid on the couch fluttering my eyelids from 5am-8:30am while listening to Stephen Fry's Victorian Secrets. I'm now halfway through that and it has managed to hold my attention because it is bizarre and amusing! (sidenote: Definitely need to buy the Stephen Fry narrated Harry Potter audiobooks and apparently buy a CD system again...🤣).

I have 35 notifications on Goodreads and plan on continuing Victorian Secrets while checking in and then going back to Cape May. First cup of coffee of the day is being had and thoroughly enjoyed! I only drink coffee on the weekends.

My husband got home at 1am and tried making me go to bed. I was like leave me alone!!! lol. And then I just didn't want to be awake anymore by 2am. Now he's trying to get me to take a nap. But I'm good, I can get through the rest of these daylight hours! It's the night that kills me. No matter what time I start. Darkness wins. lol.

message 341: by Elyse (last edited Aug 03, 2019 05:26PM) (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments End Totals Wrap-Up
Total time reading: 20 hours 53 minutes my best time!
Pages read: 843 (including audio)
Hours listened: 8 hours 33 minutes
Breaks/sleep: 3 hours of sleep, a couple minutes not reading or listening here and there
Books read completely: 2
Star Wars Lando's Luck (Flight of the Falcon, #1) by Justina Ireland Cape May by Chip Cheek
Books listened completely: 1
Stephen Fry's Victorian Secrets by Audible Originals
Partial: 2
Widows' Revenge by Lynda La Plante 132 pages read
Pax by Sara Pennypacker 1 hour or about 50 pages
Comments:
I beat my April time which was my previous best time by 11 minutes. Woot! lol. But my page count is lower because no graphic novels. I'm pretty happy that I read 2 overdue ARCs and got halfway through a third. Will be writing up those reviews and submitting them tomorrow.

Closing Survey!
How would you assess your reading overall? I think I did pretty good. My best time to date but not my best page count.
Did you have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I didn't really have one.
What was your favorite snack? I had some raspberries and they were very good.
Wanna volunteer for our next event? Possibly!
