It was a Prime Day offer they emailed me. Three months free as long as I redeem by the end of July. I wasn't sure it would work since I have had a three month offer previously, but it did! (And this time I have a list of KU books I want to read, so I'm prepared. lol)

I will have to sleep, that's for sure. I guess I'll see if I'm even able to go to sleep before midnight. :P

The great debate! I would just get up as early as you're comfortable with. I don't usually stay up late so it would be easier for me to just set my alarm for like 5am and go to bed at my normal 10-11pm. lol

During 24in48, I stayed up until 2-3 each day and got up at 7:30. I can survive off a few hours of sleep though, so it wasn't a huge deal for me. I'm going to try to stay up the entire 24 hours, but I didn't get much sleep last night so we'll see how it goes.

Once in High School I stayed up 72 hours but I was pretty loopy and got sick because of it. Have done several all nighters through the years but every year it gets harder and harder.

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? New Hampshire
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Probably The Exile graphic novel. Love Outlander!
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I'm a reader. It's my thing. I love animals, wish I could have more pets! 2 dogs, 2 cats.
5) This is our VERY first Reverse Readathon! How does it feel in your time zone? Was up too early this morning so even though excited to see how I will last with night coming up first, I'm tired! lol.

OMG!! :O :O You went clinically insane!

1. What are you reading right now? Here We Go Again by Betty White on audio
2. How many books have you read so far? This is my 4th!
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Still haven't read The Exile! I'm saving it!
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? Sleep was my interruption. 5 hours. Usually I try to make up my time after the RAT ends but as it ends at 8pm, I will not making it till 1am. lol. I'll probably barely make it to 9pm!
5. What surprises you most about the Reverse Read-a-thon so far? That the night is still hard. I love and need sleep too much. lol

Just the one graphic novel. So far! :) But the books are wonderful! I love them!! They do get bogged down at times but hey, it's history (accurate on wars), so it's educational. lol. 'Ive loved Jamie and Claire since I was 12!

Now there's a book for me! I've been recommended the Stephen King but not got round to it yet. What do you think of the graphic novel?

I wouldn't start with the Gunslinger series. It's...very weird. lol. The graphic novel is good if you've read the first novel in the series. I'm enjoying it. But I would start with either one of his short story collections or one of his horror novels. Four Past Midnight is a great short story collection as is Skeleton Crew. Misery and The Shining are great horror novels.

I enjoyed the graphic novel take on both book series but I prefer the novels. I've read all of the Outlander novels, everything written by Diana Gabaldon really, I love her. I read the first 2 of the Dark Tower series last year. I'll probably read the third one in October. This will be my second October only reading King! :)

Nice! I loved this book.
I took a page from your book (zing!) and switched to comics for most of today, and plowed through 6 of them!

1. Which hour was most daunting for you? Still the wee hours. I can't handle them. lol.
2. Tell us ALLLLL the books you read! Milk and Honey
Valiant High #2
The Guild: Knights of Good
Here We Go Again: My Life In Television (audio)
Goldie Vance Vol. 1
The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel (physical I own)
The Wishbones( audio)
You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams: My Life in Stories and Pictures (audio)
Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born (physical I own)
Paper Girls, Vol. 1
Astrophysics for People in a Hurry (audio) partial
3. Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners? The Guild, The Exile, Gunslinger Born, You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams, Goldie Vance, Paper Girls
4. How did you feel about this first-ever Reverse Readathon? Should we do it again? It was fun and different! Yes, do it again!
5. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? Would you be interested in volunteering to help organize and prep in October? Definitely will participate again but will not be able to volunteer this time.

I started listening to Astrophysics for People in a Hurry but it was during cooking and then friends came over so I wasn't really paying attention so I didn't count it.
Facebook Wrap-Up Post

I never saw this! Whoops! Sorry! I loved The Guild and Goldie Vance. Paper Girls I think I need to read more of, it starts off pretty strange. I really liked The Gunslinger Born and plan on continuing with it.

I never saw this! Whoops! Sorry! Milk and Honey was short but packed a punch. It's very emotional and visceral and there's something to relate to for every woman depending on where you are in life/relationships. It's a quick read but really stays with you.

Nope! This will be my second October reading only King. I've made it my own tradition. :) Before last October I hadn't read many of his works so I've still got a few years to keep doing it.

I recently finished Bag of Bones

I recently finished Bag of Bones

No rhyme or reason. I take what I own and what I can get on Overdrive and just go with it. I rearrange according to holds and mood. :) I own 2 copies of Bag of Bones, just bought a hardcover to replace my paperback but haven't read it yet. I have seen the movie. I haven't read any of the large ones because I know that will mean I'll only be able to read like 2 books that month. lol.

Current Reads:
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams (on pg 118)
The Waste Lands (on pg 111)
The Dark Tower: The Long Road Home (graphic novel)
The Dark Tower: Treachery (graphic novel)
Cujo (audio) (Now this will keep me awake!)
Carrie

Current Reads:
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams (on second story so far)
The Waste Lands (on pg 75)
Revival (audio) (really hoping to ..."
Reading all these horror stories is one way to stay awake! You’ve got a nice mix with the audio and graphic formats for variety. And Stephen King is unputdownable.

Oh yeah. I didn't really read anything scary last October's readathon. I didn't get very far into The Shining because the font was too small in the copy I own. So I'm hoping scary stories will jolt me this time! I've already had some nightmares this month from King stories. lol.

Drinks throughout day:
Tea, water, maybe a Dunkaccino or Dunks coffee later in the day, Pepsi, Bubly flavored seltzer
Meals & Snacks
1st Breakfast (7-8am): English muffin
2nd Breakfast (10-11am):
Bacon, eggs, sourdough toast (when hubs wakes up)
Lunch/Snacks (1-3pm):
We're late breakfasters so lunch doesn't usually exist. But I have snacks!
SmartFood popcorn mini-bags
Cheese and Wheat Thins (this time the cheese is Pub Cheese Sharp Cheddar instead of block cheese)
Skittles
Peanut M&Ms
Luna bars
Cottage cheese
Yogurt
Cucumber kiwi salsa w/ pita chips http://turniptheoven.com/cucumber-kiw...
Peanut butter cookies or brownies
Supper (5-6pm):
Kind of just feeling like pizza or subs that hubs can pick up. At the moment I don't feel like doing a crock-pot meal

Oh yeah. I didn..."
He is one scary dude. I still remember reading Pet Sematary one night — too gripped to put it down, too scared to keep reading. When I finally HAD to get some sleep, every time there was a faint noise outside, I woke up with my heart pounding. Maybe his books should come with a warning label....

Drin..."
No grocery shopping = more time for reading. Your snacks look very tempting....

lol totally! I own Pet Sematary but haven't read it yet. I'm hoping Cujo will be scary enough to keep me awake but I might pull out Pet Sematary if I'm fading.

Thanks! I'm trying to be a little more organized this time around. With less titles. lol. But who knows what King book I pull off my shelf because I feel like it!

I understand that. I've already finished one book I intended for the readathon so I am going to have to rethink some things. And see how I can fit the BINGO tasks into it. I am determined to get a blackout. I've been waining for the last several readathons and I think this is going to reinvigorate me.

This waiting for the Readathon to start is tough! My stack of possible reads is so tempting. Once I plan my snacks today, it will get even tougher ;).....

I totally agree!! lol. I want to hit my 24 hours of pre-readathon reading and then catch up on some DVRed shows so I don't burn myself out on reading before the readathon starts but gosh, I just love reading too much!! lol
