For discussion of A Time to Die.

Andrew (mr_andrew_c) | 17 comments The mystery behind the Rashanar Battle Site was disappointing. Full review here:

I'm going to continue the series though. Is anyone else reading this?

gary simpson | 4 comments I have all the books in the series . I liked them all . my favorite star trek book is doctors orders .

Bruce | 44 comments Doctor's Order is a great book! Dr. McCoy has the bridge with Spock answering to him. Classic! Haven't read that one in years.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments I am downloading today! I kind of guessed that the mystery would end up disappointing so thanks for the heads up. :)

Andrew (mr_andrew_c) | 17 comments Gary, what part(s) of these opening books did you enjoy the most? I my favorite parts of book two were Picard getting his ship back (no surprise there) and (view spoiler).

Chris | 27 comments I felt like your last one had to happen. For reasons we'll discuss after everyone finishes.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments I've started and I like how it takes off right after the first book so we get to find out what happens every step of the way. This book also seems shorter than the first book or at least it has a few less chapters.

Brian | 12 comments I finished this one today. Initially, after finishing it I enjoyed the book, but the more I think about it, the more loose ends I see, and the more unsatisfying the overall resolution was.

(view spoiler)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments Sad to hear that Brian. Will you continue? I can't read your spoiler yet because I have been working on papers and am no where near finishing the book.
But its Tuesday and I have already finished all of my papers due this week so WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Excuse me while I loose my mind. :)0_______@

I was very disappointed in the (view spoiler) ending.

About my earlier comment - (view spoiler)

I'm going to keep reading the series though because I already own them and the books by David Mack and Ward & Dilmore are bound to be good. They did great work on the Vanguard series (among others). This will most likely be the last time I read a book by John Vornholt though.

Brian | 12 comments I will definitely continue the series. Although I was disappointed in the plot resolution, I'm looking forward to the other authors. I've heard a lot of good things about Ward and Mack. Also, I need to get to book 9 because DeCandido is one of my favorites.

Since I tend to read Trek books really fast, I've picked up another book before A Time To Sow starts. I shouldn't be behind on the next one.

I like Vornholt's writing style, but if his other books have lazy resolutions I might give up on him too. That said, the book was enjoyable. It just sputtered out on the last few pages.

Chris | 27 comments I didn't mind the conclusion all that much. And I love Wesley, wish they would do more post Traveler stuff with him. He has been one of my favorite characters since I first watched TNG (though as I get older I see more clearly why there was such a backlash against him).

Andrew, I fully agree about that spoiler.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments For some reason I just have problems with the female characters I usually love the male characters except for Riker.

Brian | 12 comments I thought that all female characters were off in the book, even the invented one. It's not just you.

Beverly has a strong character in the TV series, but the book makes her a bit too 2 dimensional as a doting mother. She seemed almost non-existent in the book.

Troi was also far too physical with Riker when on duty for one of Picard's officers. 10 years of being around Picard should have had more of an impact.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments I also have a problem with the female characters in the show though so it didn't seem that out of place in the book to me just the same. I'm loving that the books will change directions though.

Just letting you guys know that the thread for A Time to Sow is now open.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments still reading this. I like it wondering about wesley though

Bruce | 44 comments I fell behind on A Time To Die and am quickly catching up. I'm really liking Wesley in these books.

message 20: by Linda (new)

Linda Wrage | 5 comments I finished A Time To Die. I really enjoyed it, but the female characters were a little weak. Loved Wesley's character in these two books so far. Glad to see his character get more developed. Did not care very much for the character of Colleen Cabot. I didn't think she was very likeable. I thought the ending was very satisfying.

Bruce | 44 comments Just finished the book and still really like Wesley's character as the Traveler. Once again, Wesley saves the day, but this as more to do with his Traveler's powers unlike what we saw in season 1. Knowing where Wesley is ending up on life's journey gives a new outlook on the younger Wesley's prodigy abilities in the early seasons.

The book is a quick read with fast-paced action. Picard is underutilized which makes sense based on his circumstance.

Linda - I didn't like Colleen at first either. She's a Ms. Know It All. Makes sense that Wesley would fall for someone like that since he wasn't far from being like that when he was younger. After awhile, I started to like her more. As Christine Vale said, "We all grew to like her..."

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments watching a bit more of season five and then continuing to catch upon this book.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments still enjoying this data is still my favorite and im liking the romance between the psychologist and wesley crusher.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 76 comments So I finished this one and I also was not a fan of the ending so can anyone explain why a Traveler is not supposed to interfere and yet Wesleys final test was for him to k the rules and interfere? does that make any sense at all?

Also I didn't like Colleen at all and I didn't feel anything when she died. Can't wait for the next book.
