IT by Stephen King | Week 1: Chapter 1-6 (Pg 3-289)

I just finished chapter one and I forgot Stephen King explains so much within his stories. It's great but takes me quite some time to get through it.
I just finished chapter one and Georgies body isn't missing! I'm seeing all these differences from watching the movie first, which isn't a bad thing. Not much else has happened within the first chapter.
How are you enjoying the first couple of chapters?

I didn't watch the movie so I don't really know anything from it but it's interesting seeing you distinct the differences.

I know what you mean! I have to also remind myself when this book was written from the language used and what happens in some scenes.
I want to say if I didn't watch the movie I'd be more interested in what's happening but that's my fault. For the most part, I already know what's happening but with added details. The differences aren't enough to keep me very hooked.
I'm still pushing through though!

I'm also kind of struggling with the back and forth of time jumps!

Yeah, I've had to flip back a couple of times to figure out what's happening again. Idk if I forget from being distractions or from all the detail I read and forgetting who I'm reading from.

I think for me it's the detail, it's like who said that 😂

It's like old fashion scary... I'm farther than you (and don't remember when the clown makes appearances) and don't wanna spoil you in any way but you've seen the clown already a few times, right?

Yes seen the clown a few times already!

Doesn't the clown (for the most part) just threaten the characters from afar? That's not really scary anymore... I think we need actions to find scenes scary nowadays.

Yeah he just says their name and some creepy things but other than that.
Yeah I think we've become far too desentised to it all...

Same, I would have liked it in chronological order instead of flashbacks. I remember talking about the movie adaptations with you, have you watched the 2017 IT yet?

Right! It's so good 😍"
I have to say and I hate to say it, but it is much better than the book. They fixed all the issues the book has. They made it easier to understand what was going on and it was creepy!!

I thought the same thing! I don't get scared very easily but during the movie, I jumped quite a few times! I can't wait to watch the second half of the movie.

I jumped a lot and hid my face. I haven't hid my face since I was a teenager watching a horror movie. I am beyond excited for the second half!!!

I did the same exact thing and loved that the movie could make me laugh the second after I was scared. I can't wait to see what they do with the second half of the book!!

I'd advise coming back once you're done reading these chapters OR leaving your comments without reading anyone else's comments if you're not done reading this section to prevent any spoilers.
I'd love to see your thoughts, in the moment, while you're reading!
