THE CASTING FOR EVAN AND BEN AND CASSIE!!!
I don't know what to think of the cast yet, but the entire time I was reading the book I thought that Evan should be Lucas Till and that Ben would look something like somewhere like a cross between Josh Hutcherson and Brian J. O'Donnell

I can agree that Alex Roe may not be the right choice for Evan, even though I do think that he is cute. The age difference between Evan and Ben are too much. In the book they are around the same age and the actors look years apart.
As for Cassie and Vosch 100% perfect and I also think that once her hair is dyed black Maika Monroe will be 100% perfect for Ringer.
The only ones I am stuck on is Ben and Evan. The more I look at Alex Roe the more I agree with him playing Evan. I really think its that Nick Robinson has such a baby face and Alex Roe just looks older.
Idk maybe it will all be great for the movie. We shall see :)
I just saw that they cast Talitha Bateman for Teacup. I think that she is perfect for it.

Can we just -- SAMMY CASTING. CAN WE JUST APPRECIATE SAMMY CASTING. I CAN'T GET OVER HOW ADORABLE HE IS. For some reason I have this thing where little brothers in books are always my favorite, and SAMMY. THIS IS MY FAVORITE LITTLE BROTHER CASTING EVER (besides Jamie from The Host, he was PERFECT). I'M SO EXCITED!
I was excited about the movie but after seeing the cast...eh.Cassie is ok but Ben looks 12. He's supposed to be Zombie. He doesn't look like he'd ever resemble the character we read about ya know?
& the actor for Evan simply isn't attractive enough.

I don't know about Ben and Evan. I like Chloe, and I think she'll do great, but Alex--he looks so old!-- and Ben, although he's cute, handsome, and hot, he looks so young.
I think that Chloe is a great choice for Cassie and the boy who is playing Sammy is exactly how I pictured him in my head...I'm just not really feeling the actors who play Ben or Evan! Ben's meant to be a soldier which isn't the vibe I'm getting from Nick Robinson and I do not agree with the casting of Evan at all; but then again the casting people can't please everyone and I'm sure there will be people who 100% agree with the choice.

To be honest I didn't really like the casting of Cassie. She feels too... pretty? I'm not sure because I haven't seen the actress act.I've never heard of the other two actors but I think they're decent. When I was reading the book I thought Evan acted extremely mature so the fact that the actor looks a little older doesn't bother me. The actor for Ben is cute and seems to be around the right age so I'm okay with it even if it wasn't exactly what I'd imagined.

These picks are very similar to how I imagined them.
Being a huge fan of the book, I really can't wait for the movie! Chloe Moretz is going to be Cassie in screen is such a great choice! I also completely agree with Nick Robinson as Ben Parish, thou he has a great acting skill and he is the same as I imagined Ben when I read the book, he's charming, smart, handsome and have big heart. But, I really disagree for Evan's choice, Alex Roe. When I read the book, the one that close to my Evan's imagination is Sam Claflin, he might be too old for Evan Walker's character but Alex Roe is definitely not our Evan Walker.
I'm so happy that there is going to be a movie mad out of this book! This is definitely a book that I've read that I wanted/needed to be turned into a movie. Here are my thoughts on the casting:
Chloe as Cassie: Great choice! I'm really looking forward to seeing her performance and take on the character.
Nick as Ben/Zombie: I haven't actually seen his acting before so I cannot comment on that, but appearance wise I'd say this is near enough to how I imagined him.
Alex as Evan: Again I haven't seen his acting before so I cannot comment on that, but appearance wise I think they done a good job. Evan is described as perfect, he is not described with flaws. Any character like this is almost impossible to cast as we are all human!
Maika as Ringer: I have only seen her in 'It Follows', I think she definitely has the potential to portray Ringer really well and I don't think she will disappoint. However, I hope they give her a dark straight wig or something. As the pictures I've seen of her she just does not look like Ringer! However, with a dark wig and a more serious facial expression she could definitely look the part.
My favourite casts so far: SAMMY AND TEACUP! So pleased with both of the decisions on these actors. I do like all of the casting in general but these two are by far my faves and most like how I imagined them in the book.

OKay what's with the hate for Chloe playing Cassie have you guys not seen her act she can do anything. Bad ass girl in Kick-ass 1 and 2. Werewolf teen in Dark Shadows (although I did not like this movie much) Drama Romance girl in If I Stay, and horror girl in Carrie... and she's in Let me In which I haven't seen but heard she was really good in that... combine them all together (apart from werewolf teen) and you've got Cassie..as for the other casting choices I don't know them have never seen them act and I don't judge on looks especially cause makeup can do anything, so what you see as there IMDB pic is probs completly different from what they will look like in the movie. ;)
My 11 year old daughter was really disssapointed that alex roe plays Evan Walker.I mean she was super excited for the movie then she saw alex roe and was like " do you think we could get Divergent instead?"and she didn't even like the divergent movies that much!
I agree with Paige about imaging him being more like a lumberjack
I wish the producers would see our comments and change the actor playing Evan : (
I'm more angry about their choices for Teacup and Ringer. Ringer is an Asian bad ass in the book and from what I can tell they cast her as a pretty, blonde, white girl. And Teacup is 7 and uses her littleness alot and they cast a 14 year old who can pass as 11 at best.

I like the choice for Cassie and Ben of course. Nick Robinson is BEAUTIFUL. But I don't really like the choice for Evan.
I have 3 things to say about the 5th wave, one the others is not a good name for aliens so why not name them after the planet they came from, two zombie is an ugly name for Nick Robinson's character and nick is too good looking to have that name, and three I hate seeing Nick Robinson playing a soldier and I believe that the chance of a good looking surviving as a soldier is the odds of one in a million and I got say Nick Robinson is my favorite actor since Jurassic world and I to ask why is Nick Robinson in the 5th wave? all I can say is that who ever decided to give Nick Robinson the role of being a soldier being called zombie deserves a punch on the nose

the reason why i don't like nick robinson playing a soldier is because the chance of a good looking guy surviving in the military is the odds of one in a million, in other words nick robinson's character looks like he is going to die as a soldier and i hate to see nick robinson die because he is too good looking to die and too young, he is my favorite actor who is around my age since jurassic world

A good looking guy has just as much of a chance as surviving in the military as a not so good looking guy or an ugly one.
i do agree that evan is not someone we wish could survive for long in the 5th wave, but whats wrong with ringer, did you ringer is played by an actress name maika monroe who is becoming a close friend of nick robinson who plays ben parish. i want to get know nick robinson and maika monroe because i have an idea for them to star in my blender movies
did you guys even know nick robinson is in jurassic world and maika monroe is staring in the next independence day and i wish to star them both in my blender movies as a couple, because they look like a wonderful couple and i wish they do actually become a couple.
alex roe is perfect tbh and also plus he has the tough abs build and kinda the dark hair and also plus hes pretty much yah
also Alex Roe is pretty much how i pictured him not really but yah and also plus he did really good but except he looks a little older that 18.....but whatever TBH: i was kinda surprised because once i read the books i was like 'heh hes good looking but in my head i was like WTH(what the heck)

sorry i keep on going from comment to comment but in my opinion Chloe is kinda sorta what i in visioned ,Maika she gives ringer that edge in the movie even behind the make up,Nick for Ben Meh i mean its fair .......,and sam perfect! the eyes,and commander Voch (sorry if i spell it wrong forgot)also cassies dad :meh i kinda sorta in visioned him to be kinda sorta a ginger -no offense-because in the movie chloe is frigin blond -how does that happen-and as i said Alex Roe perfect

i like nick robinson but TBH i like him in jurassic world (which is about my most favorite animals of all) better than nick starring in the 5th wave. i wish nick robinson can get along in person because he is a cool guy and i wish nick can star in my films because i got a lot of new ideas for him
