I’m not surprised Juliette is antsy and unhappy living underground.
And I’m shocked she didn’t tell Adam about Warner touching her honestly. He’s going to feel betrayed.

I don’t understand how caste and the others around Juliette don’t understand how deep her trauma hurt her. How can he not see how terrified she is of being hurt / rejected/ losing people? 🤦🏽‍♀️
It almost feels like he only cares if she’s of use to him against Warner and the others?

I am actually feeling bad for him after that visit from his father, it is becoming clearer now why he acts so rigid. His father bullies him to no end. Chapter 8-14: (view spoiler)[Damn, i do not want to like him at all but the way he cares for civilians is melting my heart and there’s no doubt he has good in his heart and just is a troubled soul. When he reads Juliette’s diary it is apparent that he hurts for her (hide spoiler)]

I have a bad feeling about caste. Idk why though.

Juliette’s power obviously comes out when she’s scared for someone she loves or is trying to protect them. How hasn’t caste figured that out.

She never got hurt in the past when she punched through stuff. So why when she punched the floor?
And why is caste treating her as he does? He’s been hard om her not keeping in mind the mental effects of what she’s been through!

“ How many times, I hear a voice whisper in my head, how many times will you apologize for who you are?”.
She’s right. She’s always so upset with h herself. And apologizing for just being herself.

So much happens in these chapters. I do think caste is way too hard on jukiettte. All the advancements they have, and he doesn’t offer her therapy???

Ugh. Kenji made progress with her then stupidly said what he said about imagine what she could do to the human body. 🤦🏽‍♀️ (hide spoiler)]

And warners father kidnapped four of the men. Ugh.
I’m bothered by caste and how easily he seems to be throwing Juliette Adam and kenji at warners dad. Knowing the danger.
Naturally it was a setup. but im super surprised with warner.

It’s so crazy to see Warner humanized so much. But I worry shout Juliette’s bonding with him. Adam Is already SO hurt. (hide spoiler)]

And of course that makes sense. Warners power is taking power from others. Goes along with his personality of greed there. :/. And yet Juliette is still keeping secrets for him. I’m beginning to slightly dislike Juliette now.

Man. She’s playing a dangerous game with Warner.

Can’t believe Anderson actually did shoot her. Wow.

Chapter 1-13: (view spoiler)[There are moments when I get annoyed hy Juliette but then i have to remind myself of the fragile state of mind she is in. She has been shunned by everyone her whole life and no one to depend on, locked in cages and being called monster is bound to make you go crazy. Kenji really should have just told her the truth instead of getting so dramatic and now everyone is blaming her for losing control. I feel sad for her because she is now losing Adam as well , she definitely won’t want him falling sick because of being near her (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 14-26: (view spoiler)[I feel bad for Juliette because she has to let go of the one person she felt comfortable with. It's obviously too hard for her and no one understands. But going after Warner during the mission was pretty stupid for her and Kenji did well reprimanding her the way he did. I like how he is sort of a friend to her but she hasn't been able to completely trust him yet. He shouldn't have said what he said about what she could do to human bodies since now Juliette is even more scared of her powers. Castle seems just a bit shady to me in the sense he might not be as noble as he shows himself to be and might have a personal vendetta (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 27-45: (view spoiler)[No wonder it was a setup but I wish Anderson was already dead, he is truly horrible. Adam and Warner being brothers came as such a shock to me. Warner doesn't know this yet though I think. I am getting worried about Juliette's growing empathy for Warner, I don't want her to fall for him - I LIKE ADAM! Like Warner, I also feel like his dad won't barter anything in exchange for Warner so it will be interesting to see Warner's arc in the future. ALSO when is Juliette going to tell everyone Warner can touch her as well, that could cause friction between her and Adam. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 46-58: (view spoiler)[Warner's power/gift is cooler than Adam's tbh and I just feel like Juliette relates much more with him rather than Adam. No matter how much I like him the connection between Juliette and Warner is growing stronger and looking like it would be better for Juliette anyway. I am upset that Warner is thinking of betraying Castle and everyone else and just leave them hanging after promising to fight for them, hoping he changes his mind. His tattoos showed a different side to him and I am slowly starting to like him too (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[WHY IS ANDERSON STILL ALIVE!!? I hope he dies already. Him shooting Juliette was a total shocker for me and I really thought she was dead for a second. It seemed kind of absurd to me that he just left for the base without checking if she was really dead. Warner's gift came in handy there as Juliette would have probably died without him channeling the healers' powers. Juliette's avatar after she wakes up is kinda badass and It looks like she'll finally unleash her full power over the Restablishment (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1-14: (view spoiler)[WOW Warner just moved way up on my list of favourite characters. His whole conversation with Juliette had me reeling with excitement about how these two would now work together against the reestablishment. His powers are pretty badass too and I am finding myself shipping him and Juliette more than I ever shipped her with Adam. Adam in the previous book was not just that impressing tbh because the way he thinks of Juliette to be a damsel in distress is not flattering (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 15-25: (view spoiler)[Yeah Adam is acting like a child rn, he is not even trying to understand what's at stake and I am so over it. He keeps whining about his and Juliette's relationship like they are soulmates or something when there is literally a war going on out there. And atleast Warner shows some faith in Juliette and what she is capable of unlike Adam. BUT then Juliette gave me a smh moment as well when she stupidly asks "thirteen hundred hours from now?" - REALLY JULIETTE? Atleast Kenji is being mature about all this (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 26-39: (view spoiler)[WTH Kenji!!?? I just said he was acting mature and then he went ahead and pulled this shit on Juliette. I don't even want to imagine the chaos when Adam comes to the base. I do feel he need to get his head out of his ass and realise the deep shit they are in rn and prioritise the war over his non existent love with Juliette. What she said about Adam not being in love with her but both clinging on to each other out of desperation made so much sense to me (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 40-58: (view spoiler)[AAHHHHH JULIETTE AND WARNER! I am rolling my eyes at myself for ever liking Adam and Juliette together because THIS is so much better than they ever could be. Adam is acting like a complete asshole towards both of them still - He is LIVING under Adam's roof and still has the audacity to treat Juliette the way he does. I am happy for her that she can now control her power much better and is finally listening to her heart, acting upon her own wishes (hide spoiler)]

Anderson and the blond guy he brought back with him died way too easily and that was not at all what I envisioned for this book. I kept waiting for a plot twist that never came, so utterly disappointing. Adam and Warner are friends just like that and I do not feel satisfied (hide spoiler)]

What Castle said about Warner’s dad not telling him where Juliette came from has my attention and now I am wondering what more is at play here. 60% : (view spoiler)[SO MANY SECRETS!! I wonder when will we get to meet Juliette’s sister Emmaline and would she still be on their side or the resistance had managed to break her. Warner is frustrating me soooo much, please just come and say whatever it is that you know Warner! Aslo Castle…..why does he not say anything if he knows so much. Ugh i am so over the useless drama tbh, WHAT purpose does Lena being Warner’s ex serve here when there is so much to unpack with respect to the Reestablishment’s experiments, Juliette’s sister and the future course of their actions (hide spoiler)]

Anderson is insane for torturing Warner by making him meet Juliette over and over again and then erasing his memories. Juliette's parents aren't sane either, they don't even consider her a person, just an experiment. How is Warner able to recall all of this though, the poison food? AND ANDERSON IS ALIVE!!? Despite not liking all the drama in the previous books, I actually felt really good that they all caught a break in this one albeit towards the end. Warner proposed!!
