Novella's are just short stories as an add on to an actual story. However, if you're interested in maybe reading+learning more about the other characters, you should read! ”I never meant to disfigure an innocent piece of cake – it’s downright criminal to waste food, especially cake – but there’s something soothing about the repetitive motion and the soft, gentle resistance of the vanilla sponge.”

Only Kenji would apologize for disfiguring a cake! *lol* If I’d have been there I’d have picked up a fork and helped him to eat it! Haha! But oh well, that’s me, we’re talking about. Anyway, let’s speak about this short novella. Was it kinda dark? Yes! Was it depressing! H

This series started good until Mafi decided to Shatter It, Destroy It, Unravel It, Fracture It, Ignite It, Defy It and NOT Restore It!!!

Guys, you know how much I love Kenji, but this novella was kind of a mess.

I understand that not everyone can be "happy" and "put together" all the time, but it was like his personality completely changed - even others noticed. I mean, I care about him, and I want to read about him in different states - sad, happy, excited, terrified, and Mafi wrote all of the emotions perfectly, but I felt like she didn't write them "for him", if that makes sense. I couldn't connect this person with Kenji. Idk

This series has been my favorite since I first read the original three and still continues to be! I was excited to be back in Kenji's head because he's such an awesome character! He feels real, and his head is a mess with so many thoughts. And he's funny! But also emotional, caring, and loyal.

I really liked the scenes between him and Nezeera because, like him, we never know whether to trust her or not. But from this one novella, we learn so much, about him, about her, about the others! Of course
Kenji is too good for this world. He deserves more than he's given

I’m trash for Kenji Kishimoto expressing his feelings

This was a step above the last Kenji novella but not by much. I can honestly say I'm happy the next book is the last one because this series is going downhill more and more with each book.

Okay. This was good. I love Kenji. But the cliffhanger is cliffhanging me.

October can’t come soon enough ❤️ Kenji POV confirmed by Tahereh! COVERRRR game is strong! I love it 🥰!!

I’m was hoping for another Warner POV, and terrified (and magnetically drawn to the idea) that we’d get an Emmaline POV. Think of all the things she could tell us...

But I love me some Kenji! I’m so in for this!!

the last book have so much potential and I love kenji even more in this one (even if she made him a whole different person😐)

oh and also make kenji and Warner friends cause that "hate" looks so fake and unnecesary

5.0 Amazing stars!

Wow! This was so much better than expected!

Usually, novellas can be either hit or miss. "Reveal Me" was a complete grand slam, touch all the bases!

You may think I'm giving this a glowing 5 stars because I'm a huge fan of this series, but you'd be absolutely WRONG!

This novella is the perfect bridge between "Defy Me" and the final book in the "Shatter Me" series.

Not only is it in our BFF's Kenji's POV which was absolutely fabulous, but it gives us some pretty raw insight i

3 stars because I'm too attatched to these characters to lower my rate but, honestly, this series has become too much lovey-dovey even for my tastes. I'm still curious to know what is going to happen, but since Defy Me it feels like reading fanfiction. By the way, I love Kenji and I enjoyed reading from his pov!

I can't remember the last time I was this attached and hooked!
I had forgotten what that felt like.
And I have Tahereh Mafi to thank for reminding me.

Okay, so throughout the book my brain was shouting "Where the hell are you J!!!". I was pretty angry with everyone else, too, especially when they weren't letting Kenji go to J!
Also, I don't think I've ever said this before but I am saying it now- Warner was seriously pissing me off. Kenji is going through so much, and Warner got his happy ending b

It was a cute novella, especially because it revolved around one of my favourite characters, Kenji. I must say that I live for his banter with Warner, it's everything. I'm really curious to see how his relationship with Nazeera might evolve in the future and I really hope that he gets an happy ending in the last book of the series.

I just love Kenji so so much. There are so many times when I think "Wow, is that me?" while reading from his POV. He is my favorite in the series. (But you all know I love Warnette with all my heart, so don't yell at me.)

This was a very quick read. It took me like an hour and a half because I kept getting distracted. It's a great filler between books, but it also does a wonderful job of getting a deeper look into such a beloved character while setting up the reader for the final book. I cannot

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being in Kenji’s head!! But this one was a little different. I worry about my Kenji.

This was a little mysterious, a little worrisome and a whole lot of GREAT to be back in this world!!

I’m being vague because how do you review a little novella without giving to much away. But it was enough of a tease to make me want IMAGINE ME, the LAST book in the series!!! I need it now!!!!!

This was bad. Everyone was an asshole. Kenji is like my favorite character in this series and he was an asshole for the most part. I didnt like Warner or Castle or anyone in this.

2 stars are for Kenji and Nazeera. They are cute.

3.5 stars

In my opinion, I didn't much like the start which is why I rated it 3.5 stars. Kenji had turned into a total pity party and bemoaning how no one cares how he feels at this moment (which isn't true). (It is a bit odd because he never seemed so in his POVs in Defy Me.

However, a bit later on, the whole pity party and all issue was gone as Kenji was more or less back to his usual self :).

However, that ending is evil. The fact that I have to wait basically 5 months to get Imagine Me is a tr

“I don't know what's wrong with me tonight. I feel off, unbalanced. Aching for something. I'm losing sight of my purpose, my sense of direction. I always tell myself that I'm fighting every day for hope, for the salvation of humanity, but every time I survive only to return to yet more loss and devastation, something comes loose inside of me. It's like the people and places I love are the nuts and bolts keeping me upright; without them, I'm just scrap metal.” 5 likes
“With her, it’s different. I never even realized just how much I was missing until we really got to know each other. She lets me talk. She doesn’t rush me. She doesn’t tell me to calm down or feed me bullshit lines or tell me everything will be fine. When I’m trying to get things off my chest she doesn’t make the conversation about her or her own problems. She understands. I can tell. She doesn’t have to say a word. I can look into her eyes and know she gets it. She gives a shit about me in a way no one else ever has.” 0 likes
