Hmm... Although I can't remeber much of the details.. Your description sort of reminds me of Wicked Lovely by melissa Mar. Fairies are invisible in this novel but the main character can see them and has to pretend she can't. But then shes thrust into the world of fairies. Not sure if its the one your looking for. The only other fairy book i know is Wings. Good Luck.

I've realized this is a ref. to the "Wild Hunt" trope... and it's shown up in more than one YA fantasy (including Kagawa's Iron King and Dogsbody by Diana Wynne Jones), so not sure if I've conflated those, or there really is another one that conforms to my memory :)


There's a kind of metaphysical aspect too - the hunt represents the great cycle of life + death... sound at all familiar to any YA-fantasy fans out there?
