Stephen Baxter interview: why science fiction is like therapy: "The bestselling SF writer talks about the rush to finish the Long Earth series, being the order to Terry Pratchett’s chaos and how maths helps him write". On the Guardian.
The Long Earth series has been hit and miss for me so far. Decent idea , some good characters but painfully plotted in huge parts . Long War is still one of the most dissapointing books I've read.
Definitely reading Shepherds Crown before I read the latest in this series

I couldnt agree more. I wanted to like it but it lacked everything that worked in the first book. Lobsang was barely in it.

I do enjoy Guards Guards. Probably a nice contrast to Mark Lawrence. Jalen doesn't have much humour to him.
Has anyone preordered the final discworld book out this month. Should be a big event and hopefully a great send off.
Also noticed his daughter with a story in an upcoming anthology -

Gregory, obvious choice after Guards Guards is to keep going with the watch books and read Men at Arms then Feet of Clay next.
