Wow, Kathryn, that's awesome! Good work. I hope you're doing the individual game, because you get major points for finishing the ATY challenge during the read-a-thon.I just finished The Geek Feminist Revolution, which we can count for the 5 ATY books prompt. I can't access Google Docs at work, so I'll have to update tonight unless someone else can.
I listened to this in audiobook, but since I filled the audiobook prompt, I'm going to count it for pages read, so 272.
I finished On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft yesterday, but it didn't count towards any categorie, only the pages read (+284). I started reading The Sea of Monsters, which will count for 'ya, middle grade or children book', but I have only read a few pages today. I'm going to read more tomorrow again.
Our card is starting to fill very nicely and most of the last stuff will be easy to fill (except the rainbow) :)I think I'll finish my audiobook tomorrow. It seems to have a greenish sky on the cover, so we'll have a backup for green too.
How does it work for the spreadsheet when books are listed for multiple categories? I've been listing the books I've read anywhere they might fit, especially if I see we are missing something in that category, but I hope I'm not confusing things more by doing that.
I finished with The Last Unicorn. I updated my book in the spreadsheet, and with that one we reach three books in the category of YA/Middle Grade/Children books, so I moved one of the available smiley faces there. I hope that's ok.
Thanks for all the congratulations! If I understand correctly, it's okay to use the same book for multiple categories as long as the categories are different colors on the Bingo Card. For example YA/Children's and Graphic Novel/Manga are both green, so if you read a YA graphic novel, you would only be able to use it for one category.
It's a beautiful day here, so I'm off to add to our reading outdoors total. ;)
I finished my POC book and will focus on my ATY book. When does the contest end exactly? I thought I was a medium reader, but after seeing some of your page totals may need to downgrade to slow :)
I believe it will end at noon on Sunday? We are all doing such a great job! I think we really will complete the Bingo! Go team!
Perri, I have the week off so my totals are high. It means more Audio books while completing chores, and reading as a break. That is going to change since I will have family visiting tomorrow and for the rest of the week.
I think our total number of pages is over 4000 now and the audiobook total is getting close too! We're doing great!I read for an hour outside today and put it into the spreadsheet.
Perri > you can be a medium reader with a little time to read ;)We're done with the 4000p and the reading outside.
I'm not sure for the YA square as Rachel put her books at several places, maybe there are some overlappings. I've a short children book to read, so I can add one to the list if needed.
I have right now, pending to read for my AtY challenge, these two books. One is a novella (green cover, by the way, in case is needed) and the other one is another huge graphic novel. Can any of them count for the Bingo (square AtY book)? or should I look for something else? The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
Blankets
I was trying to remove the smiley face from the YA square, because it seems that it was incorrect that I put it there, but I cannot do it! :'(
Removed :DBoth can count for the AtY square, I also use some short reads and graphic novels, so it would be weird to decide they aren't AtY books.
We do need to add to the map or timeline. I do not have the know how to do it especially from my phone.
Anastasia wrote: "We do need to add to the map or timeline. I do not have the know how to do it especially from my phone."I can do that when I'm finished since it has to be an ATY book. It's a beautiful day and I have only two goals. Put more tomatoes up and READ
I might be able to get some outdoor reading in this afternoon and tomorrow is looking like it might be warmer and sort of sunny so if not today then tomorrow. It looks like we are doing a great job of getting to a blackout, nothing is standing out as needing to be filled but if anyone is worried about a particular square let me know. I should be finished with The Thing Around Your Neck this morning and will have finished my three pre-planned books so would be happy to add something that fills a need.
Anastasia, there are 2 maps & a timeline threads under Projects. The timeline is for books original publication date, so you just list your book & author & the date it was originally published. For the author map, you list the book & author & where the author was born & where they lived while writing the book or now (whatever combination of information is available)
On the reading map, you list the book & author & where the book is set.
All 3 are only for ATY books. If you have any additional questions about any of them, let me know.

As I've said, I put them wherever I thought they would fit, but I'll stop doing that if it's making a mess of things. I thought that's what we were supposed to do so we'd see what options there were?
Finished my (tedious, boring, terrible) audiobook. Yey! With that, we completed the audiobook square :)I'll concentrate on my orange cover (also AtY book) for the next days.
Rachel > I suppose you have to choose at one point where to put your books. See where finished books are needed and if some of them can be used for several squares.

Rachel > I suppose yo..."
Right, but I was under the impression that was a group decision. My understanding was books should be listed wherever possible, and by the end, we would decide where they were most needed.
I guess I'm confused because when we last had a group Bingo card (last year, I think), if I remember correctly whoever was running the spreadsheet took charge of deciding where things best fit. I find this one a bit tricky because there are a lot of pledged books that we don't know for sure will be finished.
Yes and I think last year we were a bit worried to not be able to finish the card (which happened if I remember well), but in the end just the rainbow was a problem, the rest was checked. You can select your squares and if Sunday we are missing something we can see if we can switch books.
One question, I have been playing all the games during the read-a-thon, but I have not updated any of them on the spreadsheet, because I saw there were already one name for each game there and I know that one people for each game is enough. Is that correct or should I update everything I have played just as information?
Yes Silvia, one person per game is enough. Perhaps it might be better to update the spreadsheet by game and then write the names of the people who've completed it next to the game. That way we won't miss any games.
Only six more strategizing comment to go!I'm on track for finishing my pledged ATY book and then posting it on the map
Yes, we're doing great here! Since it's the weekend I'll have more time to read again. I've read a bunch of Sea of Monsters today, only 60 pages left. I'm going to finish it this evening and then I'll start 'Hunger' right away which will count for the POC category :)
Very busy day with a long walk, a picnic and a vet visit, so almost no reading done. Luckily I'm on the good side of the Earth, so I'll have 2 more full days to read and will finish at least my orange cover ;)The page counts of the team are great and lots of books finished already :)
Lol Zazz, we had a Vet visit today too. I will hopefully have a few minutes to read before bed tonight.
Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body. I knew there was obese and morbidly obese but not that there was a super morbidly obese. To hear her story is both brave and enlightening Plus is this mesg. 137? I can move a smiley face?!
I started reading Sing, Unburied, Sing today. It's also orange and by a person of color if we need it to be a backup for either of those.

I thought the space called for 175 posts?
I had a slow reading day, started and read half of Captain Marvel, Volume 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More and started Vanguard. I don't think they need to be added to the team challenge but should finish by noon Sunday if they can fill in any missing bits. This group is doing so well at getting the bingo board done it is hard to strategize :)
My name will need to be removed from the games slot with Scrabble attached. I just have not had time to play it the last 3 days.
I finished with Blankets. I am using it for my AtY challenge, so I added on the row of AtY in the spreadsheet. According with the spreadsheet, we are missing just one more book to finish with that square :)
Yeah, we still need to get a lot of comments in during the next day and a half. Maybe everyone can post whay games they've played? Or post about the book they like best from the read-a-thon. We need something to increase participation or we might not make it to 175.
I have just updated all the games I hape played on the spreadsheet in a similar way that Rachel did.
@Perri I'm currently reading it too :) You're right, her writing is really honest. It's interesting to read about her story. Maybe I'll read 'Bad Feminist' someday too. This might give me an even better understanding of how her book came to be. Have you read Bad Feminist?
What means whay games?I liked very much The Last Unicorn and it was funny, because I was not enjoying the book so much, but in the last pages it made me cry so much that it made me forgot that I wasn't enjoying it :P
... something like this, Katie?
So we need about 30 more comments. I'm currently reading One Hundred Years of Solitude. Has anyone here read it? Its such a highly related book so I came with a lot of expectations. I do enjoy it but it's not amazing so far. The repetition of names across generations and the story hopping around the timeline gets confusing for me. Maybe it's just not my style.

I did, but a long time ago. I really liked it, but I think part of the magic is the irreverent, but funny way he writes. I read the book in Spanish, I don't know how the book can sound in English :( I hope you enjoy it!
