It was a nonfiction like really awesome and I remember a bunch of drawings so I am not sure if it was a graphic novel of novel. So the main character I think hes a guy, overhears this story about like another universe or world. And to get their there was this whole like ritual to get there. And it had something to do with cat hair he got from his neighbor and burning it. and one of his friends were there. She didn't want to do I too because she was too scared. so she watched. then I remember after they did it, the power went off and the friend got scared and the main character wasn't impressed. He didn't believe it blah blah blah. Then I am not very sure what happened. I remember also the character passes out or something and wakes up on a train. He like "oh god I cant believe its real " and hes like whats going on. And when he arrives its like a bunch of other people there too and then iam not sure. I think it was like a battle between humans and like these monster machine things. Also after he arrives a pretty girl dies and she was the girlfriend of a scientist or something. And he gets really upset and wants to turn her into a machine she can live again. But after that I cant remember anything. I tried everything I asked other people and googled everything and did some library research and I cant find anything after like 2 years. So if you know PLEASE TELL ME I WILL BE VERY GREATFUL!! Have a nice day!

Daria, I moved your request to the Unsolved folder because you're looking for a specific book.
When did you first read this book?
When did you first read this book?
Maybe, Malice
by Chris Wooding? One of the Goodreads reviews mentions burning cat hair will take you the "Malice." Were the illustrations in color, full page, realistic, cartoony, etc?
Anything about the cover?
