SOLVED. Children book where a boy goes to a sideways castle [s]

I read this book in maybe 3rd or 4th grade, it is about a boy who can talk to radios and other electronics. He has a very large family and they are all very strange. I think he lives in New York or another large city. One day his mom leaves and they get a mean Nanny, so the boy leaves to go find his mom. He eventually goes under a hot dog stand to another world where there is a sideways castle. There is something wrong with the king and his mom is trapped in the dungeon. There is some kind of big event that they have in a labyrinth type place where there is a minotaur or something...
I don't remember how it ends


I have been trying to figure out the name of this book for years and suggestions are VERY appreciated

I read this book a while ago and absolutely loved it, but haven't been able to remember the name for a few years now. Spent a few hours googling and finally found it, the Erec Rex series by Kaza Kingsley. Hope it's the same book as yours!
