Looks like this section was neglected by the few of you who read this already, so I'll chime in as I go.
If there was any doubts about the princess (now Queen) having a demon in her it's been confirmed by the Duke. And he believes he'll be able to hold it against her, possibly by a very public death and rebirth.
Also, Marcus is apparently an idiot and thinks Winter is just pretending to be a girl.
Oh and I'm not sure if this was part 3 or 4, but the Colonel seems to be aware of some (all?) of the Princess plans and secrets.
For now they have the advantage over the duke, but that is not likely going to last long.

I think I didn't comment on this section because I was away somewhere and finished it and started the next, then couldn't remember where it ended.Yes what is Marcus doing thinking Winter is a guy...although the whole girl pretending to be a guy pretending to be a girl thing was kind of funny. I think he (Marcus) gets really set in his ways - since he knows Winter fought in the army and only men do that...Winter MUST be a man.
The Marcus-Winter thing created some funny scenes but it was also really moronic. The whole Orlanko using the demon as leverage thing seems kind of thin. I mean accusing the queen/princess of being a demon isn't the easiest thing in the world. It would also be fairly hard to get proof as he'd have to essentially 'murder' the Queen which doesn't seem like it would go over well.
Also the Jane thing at the end was a surprise. I'm really liking the Jane-Winter romance atm so I hope this won't mess it up.
There are way too many factions in our revolutionaries and all of them although are demanding the same thing but the way to achieve it is different for all.Princess is really an interesting character which Wexler has introduced in this book and she has sound mind is exhibited by the fact that she writes all the speeches for Danton.
