FUCKING MAEVE
AND MAEVE IS A VALG QUEEN??
I AM SHOCKED

I also think that Aelin knows that Maeve is a Valg Queen.

Maybe she's not even a Valg Queen. Maybe she's a Valg Goddess, and she's able to change her form into any she wishes - Like how Mala Fire-Bringer became human.
Maeve needed the healers, to act as a last stronghold to the Valg Kings who would one day find her out. (remember healers can burn the corruption of the valg from the inside). Athril was a Fae healer, blessed by Silba, and when Silba made that ring, you can guess that she wanted it badly, not because she wants to destroy it. I think that it would serve to be her last defence against the Three Kings. So that she can be immune of their power, and then once she gets the wyrdkeys, she can be unchallenged.
Although i'm thinking again?? Athril and a Valg Queen as lovers? THIS IS TOO CONFUSING LMAO.

I also think that Aelin knows that Maeve is a Valg Queen."
Maybe they'll only find out after Lysandra/Aelin can't read the wyrdmarks on the scroll and the book chaol and yrene brought with them for Aelin to read. Because it would be possible that "Aelin" wouldn't recognize Yrene after 3 years.

i didnt´think i would..but i did.
i am still .... ( i have no words)
i don´t know. I can´t think straight right now..
the only thing i keep thinking is that i want to see them all together in one book. it´s going to be fantastic.

PLOT TWIST: enter the Inner Circle & Co.

SAMEEEEE

Perhaps because the ring grants immunity to her powers as well?
So if Aelin were to be wearing the ring on the beach scene, she would have been immune to Maeve's 'dark power' (which in hindsight is very obviously Valg when the King had the same type of power)

-- Since Maeve spent all that time running AWAY from the valg, and idling along being seemingly happy to play queen of the Fae (and a god in some ways, like what she did to Rowan for one); what if she wants to help (in some twisted way)? Wanting to see if Aelin could wield the fire, so SHE could wield Aelin against her 'enemy'.
Wouldn't -that- be the ultimate plot twist? Because she doesn't want to be near the valg kings any more than Aelin does. The Queen who was promised. It could refer to Maeve -shrug- since she WAS promised to a valg king (in a manner of speaking, mating/marriage being what it is, and clearly the 'norm' in this world is that it being arranged isn't abnormal).
In the end; Aelin could trick Maeve into sacrificing herself, since, at least by the gods' memory, Maeve is related to Mab, and therefore her line, and in essence with that first move in Aelins world, sealing her own fate. Would that not work? -shrug- Food for thought.
--------------------
Otherwise, since pretty much all the other characters she's helped in the long-run have popped up, I'm wondering what role Nox has to play. Perhaps Choal and Yrene meet up with him somewhere, and he gets dragged along for the ride? (Another one that Lysandra wouldn't know to acknowledge as a previous acquaintance) Or the witches could come across him (cue Dorian's recognition).

I was thinking about that too. He may be a problem. See, here's the thing: he's already got a crappy attitude, so what are the odds that he might've also been taken by the valg already? He was very aggressive towards his sister when she came to after yrene expelled the princess, almost as if he was angry about it. He is the spymaster, so it wouldn't be a stretch to think that he knew about aelins happenings because he is valg, or has some relationship to them.

-- Since Maeve spent all that time running AWAY from the valg, and idling along being seemingly happy to play queen of the Fae ..."
Technically, Maeve is NOT related to Mab, as she was never truly their sister. Everyone only believes that they are sisters, so she has no blood connection to Mab's line. And isn't it Mala's line that has to make the Sacrifice? Fire powers and all? And because Elena was a Galathynius? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I thought.
But your first point was AWESOME. What a plot twist that would be! I'm just DYING to see what happens with TOG7.

Maybe they find out that way, maybe not. I hope Aelin will come free very soon but I'm afraid of what Maeve is going to do with / to her"
That is a new nickname for Lysandra... I think I like it!!

But I really hope ..."
Same!! I was dying... there were several times I though he or she would spill but they didn't!! It was their last scene!!

-- Since Maeve spent all that time running AWAY from the valg, and idling along being seemingly happy to play que..."
Yes, but it makes you wonder if even the"gods" think she's related and they (Aelin/Elena & co) were misunderstanding their role the entire time, the way Elena misunderstood her role in the first war, with the lock. As for the relationship between maeve and aelin, before that reveal, wasn't she being referred to as an aunt? That is still a blood relative. At least by everyone's memory anyway.
Aelin makes a good point: the gods suck at communication. Lol

Aelin seems to have two reactions to adversity. 1- she'll let herself go. 2- she'll find a way to fight, being the strategist she is.
I think she may start with the first, as she, like we all know, doesn't think she's necessary for this war and what comes after. At least until someone snaps her out of it..

Have you heard the shadowfire theory? It is an interesting one and a future possibility. I like the pins/posts/tweets about how Aelin will either come out as Celeana Sardothian or Nehemia, the spirit that cannot be broken.

Also I dont know if any one else had this thought, I know Maeve did some horrible things but for a second when I heard that Maeve was against the Valg Kings I thought Aelin and Maeve would form an aliance. That would be a funny sight. Rowan showing up to get Aelin back and Aelin and Maeve talking over some wine.

OMG CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THE SHADOWFIRE THEORY, I HAVEN'T HEARD OF IT. Or send the link :)
(sorry for caps i'm just very excited)

But I really hope ..."
I loved the part when Yrene finally showed Chaol the note. For all those who read the prequel with Yrne, I couldn't wait for Yrene to find out about who wrote her the note! That was one of the best parts in the whole book!

I am just going to copy the post from Instagram....
"A familiar, dark fire rippled in her gut, spreading through her, dragging her down into the abyss without end."
Tell me this isn't shadowfire. Tell me that the more Aelin get's broken, the more her fire extinguished into a darker form.
So basically, shadowfire is a darker form of fire like Aelin's. Kaltain was broken in Morrath so the shadowfire was formed within her. If Aelin gets broken like Kaltain in Maeve's clutches her golden fire might turn to shadows... Just a theory everyone hopes is not true....

Kaltain's fire was golden in her youth. I am leaning towards your view Danielle; how shadowfire is developed from being tortured and broken.
I believe Maeve will try to exploit her like that. Force her to use her abilities.
But I also think that you need a Wyrdkey to alter your magic that much. I believe that with something of pure power like the Wyrdkey, it sort of alters/amplifies existing gifts. And it depends on the person altering the gifts.
→ Like Kaltain developing the shadowfire, flame of pain/hatred. Perhaps the reason why her flame became black, why she was able to inflict formless pain on people without fire... I believe Erawan influenced the wyrdkey to do so.
→ Aelin able to use moonfire, silver flame, too cold it burns. The reason for her fire becoming silver, was obviously due to Deanna posessing her; but i like to think that she influenced it using the Wyrdkey.
I believe that this is Maeve's intention. She wants to gather the Wyrdkeys, influence Aelin and use her as some form of weapon against the Valg Kings. Not by posessing her... but by using the Wyrdkeys of pure power. Because she certainly doesn't want Aelin to go against her with her flame, but she has no qualms about using her against the Kings.
I think that's what the King of Adarlan meant by how the Wyrdkeys can be used for so much more. Like some sort of manipulation. (Sort of how he did to Dorian).

Yes, petty revenge on aelin seems likely, but I think there's something off about it too. If she'd truly wanted aelins power she could've done her mind thing earlier on. Who's to say she didn't somehow? She gave up rowan too easily, IMO, considering her supposed abilities.
Either way, can't wait for this book to release. There's a lot of loose ends to tie up here..

I feel that there's so much missing. We're only getting one side of the story here. Especially with Maeve.
With her using Aelin like that, I'm fairly certain it was mentioned that with Mala and Deanna always behind Aelin, and with Aelin at her full strength could defeat Maeve - we know Valg are afraid of fire, they want it gone so they can use their darkness.
She's so much like those Valg Spiders, how she weaved a massive web of traps for Aelin.

I have a feeling this last book is going to be HUGE, page-count wise. lol. There's just so many loose ends and possibilities to tie up.

I feel like we have no idea what the result will be because of all the new information we have gathered but I think that Aelin will probably make a new Allie and I can't wait to see the result.

I will also be writing more reviews, so if you like this one, recommend a book, subscribe, and I'll let you know when I have a review for it!
