"That was only because she wouldn't tell him what her power was! I'll bet you they figured it out after Kane's girlfriend called me out after Ashea healed me!," June shouted at him.
"So it's Ashea's fault because she didn't just tell them everything? They're corrupt people there's a reason they separate themselves and don't live like the rest of us."
"No, Will! If she had just told them that then he would have left her alone! They aren't corrupt and they live almost exactly like we do!," June shouted, frustrated that Will couldn't understand.
"I never thought about not trusting you because I never had a reason to doubt you. You can't really sympathize with them."
"You can say you trust me all you want but you know I'll never believe you, Will," June snarled.
"I've had enough of your apologies, they don't mean anything to me.," She said sadly, "And there isn't anything you can do to change that."
"I don't care, now stop," June took a deep breath, not sure if she should yell at him or hug him. She winced as her side burned.
"No... maybe... Just forget it," June turned and began limping away, holding a hand to her side.
"No! Will don't touch me! Put me down!," June screeched, pushing at him as memories surfaced from prison.
"I can walk! I'm fine! Don't touch me!," She struggled some more; Kane sitting down in her cell... Lyn staring... Ashea screaming...
Will growls under his breath,"Fine whatever." he snaps,"Kill yourself trying to walk there then." he says setting her down and crossing his arms.
June curled up in fetal position on the ground, gasping, trying to calm down, "Don't touch me." she repeated, her voice shaking.
June took a few deep, shuddering breaths, forcing the memories into the back of her head. She just barely managed to calm down before everything came rushing at her; everything she said and did while in prison, Kane being alive, her coming back home. June cried into the ground, not bothering to try and hold it back anymore.
After one last sob June stopped. She sat up and wiped off her face, keeping her back to Will she stood up, her composure regained.
((Why is it that my characters have mental breakdowns alot? :) ))
June clenched her shaking hands into fists and whispered, "I have to get him back, Will, or I don't think I'll ever be sane again."
June clenched her shaking hands into fists and whispered, "I have to get him back, Will, or I don't think I'll ever be sane again."
((Haha I don't know but it certainly keeps things interesting!))"We'll find him and talk some sense into him. It'll be alright."
((:D))
June let out a pent up breath and ran her hands through her hair, pulling out strands of wheat and grass, "Being in prison did something to me, Will," June admitted.
June let out a pent up breath and ran her hands through her hair, pulling out strands of wheat and grass, "Being in prison did something to me, Will," June admitted.
"That's alright. I'd rather you didn't." he says,"Hiding things takes it's toll on you." he says thinking back to the secret he'd kept from her for so long.
She flinched visibly as she realized what he meant, "When you picked me up, it was like re-living prison. I remembered everything, and everyone, even their voices, Will."
"I know, just don't do it again, not till I can figure this out," June shook her head, "I'm not sure I'm strong enough, Will."
She looked at him over her shoulder, "But I'm not as strong as YOU seem to think. If I were, I wouldn't be like this."
"Anybody would react the same way you are." he insists. Sometimes he forgot she was older than him. That her and Kane basically raised him.
"No they wouldn't. They would come back and continue life like nothing had happened. They would have forgiven you, forgotten about Kane, forgotten about everything. They wouldn't break down without notice or leave the infirmary till they were better. They wouldn't feel restless like they have to run a mile before being able to sleep or even sit down," June blurted out.
"Everyone deals with things differently. I can't blame you for the way you are now and you shouldn't either."
"I just wish I could handle this differently, face things easier. This is hard, Will, especially with everything happening at once. I can't talk to very many people anymore, I don't know what to believe anymore."
"Not entirely, but yes it is and its time for you to drop that stupid subject. You can't change the future, Will. You chose not to trust me with the truth and these are your consequences, end of story," June said.
June waved her hands in the air, "You don't need to worry about me. Worry about Ashea, worry about the rest of the camp. I'm just one person, Will, you have to help her command and protect everyone else. I make my own choices."
"I made a choice I thought was best for everyone and it wasn't. Sometimes I feel like I'm not a very good leader."
"Sometimes you aren't, but you'll do what you can," June turned around to face him, looking at their feet, "You do what you think is best, I know that, but I think now I'll have more trouble following orders."
"How, Will? How do you know? I don't even know what I'd be willing to do. I don't know myself right now," June said sadly, "Right now... I'm not strong. I'm not a fighter. I'm a burden to everyone around me. I'm not ready to face myself."
