"Well it's the first thing he said so I'm pretty sure he did."

"I didn't think he was one to use a bow either. Ugh! Why is he being so complicated!," June complained.
June smiled, "THAT sounds more like him. I was planning on helping him find out how to light his sword on fire without burning it to crisp so he could make his fighting more dramatic... but that was before he..." Her smile faded again.
He swallows and nods, "Yeah he always liked to throw some fire in there somewhere. He could never seem to understand why he couldn't light stuff on fire."
"Well, he could. He just couldn't do it by sheer will. I remember watching him practice. One time I told him to try lighting me on fire," June shook her head and looked down at her twisted piece of grass, "That one didn't exactly end how I expected it to."
"He ended up lighting the ground on fire in front of me. I wasn't hurt, just a little singed. He panicked. I thought I was going to suffocate in his hugging," June said.
"I was only trying to help, and it worked... somewhat," June shrugged, "It doesn't matter anymore. He said he tried to forget everything, including me."
"Only because he wanted me to go away. Only because he couldn't stand to look at me," June sounded heartbroken.
"I can't either, but he had many opportunities. I'm pretty sure I offered to let him at one point," June shrugged.
"I know. He didn't hurt me, he could have. It wouldn't have taken much... speaking of which... I think you're getting out of practice Will," June said pointedly, turning around to face him.
June folded her arms, "Oh please! If I could punch you, in the face, with warning, while half-dead... I'm pretty sure that reflects badly on you."
(( :( Alright. Is everything okay?))
"I'm sure you were, but that is no reason to be out of practice. I, on the other hand, had every possible reason to be out of practice," June said smartly.

((XD Yes I was at an amusment park from 8:30 and I'm home now at 2:30. I was very much okay))He rolls his eyes, "Oh yeah? Like what?"
((Lol! :D Cool! Don't mind me, I'm a total worry-wart!))
"I was locked up, injured, repeatedly tortured, dehydrated, starving, and had a very large amount of time without sleep," June reasoned, "Did I miss anything?"

((:D))
She nodded, "That's what I thought... and I'm pretty sure if I wanted to go spar right now you wouldn't let me on account of my serious tendency to practice till I break."

Her eyes flashed to his momentarily, then away quickly. She couldn't find it in herself to meet his eyes like she used to, "She... Ashea was strong until we were alone. I had trouble believing that it was her sitting across from me at times, then they would come back and she was herself again."
"I thought she would give up," June confessed, "I though she would break, and there wasn't anything I could do about it."
"I didn't realize it was that bad." he whispers now glad he'd taken a risk to get her out as quickly as possible
"Scouting mission gone south. We try to keep tabs on them just to make sure they aren't up to anything potentially dangerous"
"Oh," June was quiet for a moment, "I'm not an asset, Will. I don't command people, I just fight. I'm not important. Why do both of you seem to think the opposite?"
"Because everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. And your set of strengths is particularly good."
"Well yes but ... I guess it comes down to this. They're growing in numbers and we need everyone we've got. You may be no stronger than the rest of us-but you know this place and how it works. Ashea isn't astoundingly strong either but she's a great leader. We need people we can trust. We get put in the line of fire all the time and if something happens we have to know there is someone to replace us."
She shook her head, "But how do you know you can trust me now? Things have changed now, Will. Kane had some very... convincing arguments."
