I really need to read it. I bought it just haven't gotten to it i just finished the last of ACOTAR series!

message 3: by Nikita (new)

Nikita I'm currently reading it now. I'm trying to not finish it so quickly but at the same time I want to so badly.

message 4: by A (new)

A (krazygirlap) | 1 comments I finished it yesterday......

message 5: by Jo (new)

Jo Conley I want to read it but ALL I WANT IS MORE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO AELIN. I'm sure I'm going to love this book just as I have all of SJM's work though.

message 6: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (ravenandthehawk) | 387 comments Currently reading the book, it is amazing.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

I am also currently reading it and I love it. It might be my favorite book in the series so far.

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments Stephanie patno wrote: "I'm dying over here. I need to talk to other TOG fans!!"

I just finished tower of dawn and I kinda happy and kinda upset about the whole Chaol being healed thing, to me it was kinda lazy like 'oops, I just made that happen so I'm gonna come up with a quick way to fix it' I wonder if Sarah had planned to make that happen to him, but whatever the biggest cripple to me is the fact that Choal and Nesryn and EVERYONE thinks Aelin is going back to Terrasen when in truth that is Lysandra!!!!! And the last chapter being named 'Fireheart' just killed me!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

^^Same!! I hope that Rowan and everyone else will let Chaol know what actually happened to Aelin, instead of letting him think that Lysandra is Aelin. And what we learned about Maeve, oh my gosh...

message 10: by Charli (new)

Charli Reader (charliauthor) I was a bit upset that we had this book instead of the last TOG book but now having read it, i can see it was needed to understand the magnitude of the story and not just regarding Aelin's involvement.
The Maeve revelation blew me away
Im so happy Chaol and Nesryn found happiness but i do think the "healing" was a bit too convenient and not sure it works long term with them being connected like that. Hmm?!

I didnt like the Lysandra link. Once again a bit too convenient but all in all. I loved it.

message 11: by Nikita (new)

Nikita I am nearly done.

Nikita Okay I'm done. OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG! Fireheart is heartbreaking. "Let's begin." Begin what?!

message 13: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (ravenandthehawk) | 387 comments Yed , it was just as good as the other books in the ToG series!!

message 14: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 2 comments Finished it yesterday. OMG, that ending...

message 15: by Blythe (new)

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments Yeah, it killed me. But I'm not worried, everyone needs to remember that Aelin's magic when not used grows stronger and stronger until it will snap the leash Aelin has on it and she will snap. So thats something fun to look forward to in the next book

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Also, can we talk about that little discovery about Maeve's past...

message 17: by charlene ✿ (new)

charlene ✿ (decodethebooks) | 1 comments I finished it and it was way better than I expected. Choal was not my favourite character after Queen of Shadows and after it was announced that the novella was changed into a book left me confused and questioning why and also angry because I just wanted the last book and for baby Alien to get back with her homies. Tower of Dawn was totally worth it and had such beautiful world building.
I also liked how they talked about Alien from an outsider perspective making you look at her actions which is a contrast from knowing her motivations or feelings behind said actions.

P.S. The Maeve reveal left me shooketh!!

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Tower of Dawn and... It was waaay better then expected. It was amazing to explore Antica; the city itself was beautiful and all the new characters- so refreshing!

message 19: by Nikita (new)

Nikita Emma wrote: "Also, can we talk about that little discovery about Maeve's past..."

I knew she was evil but that! Now so many things make sense. And now I'm even more worried for our beloved Aelin. I thought I wanted Meave dead before but now I want her to suffer a fate worse than death. But still want her to die!

message 20: by Blythe (new)

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments Meave might be evil and powerful, but remember, Meave had to wait until Aelin's magic was completely spent before she could kidnap her. Just wait until her magic starts to fester and wait

message 21: by Nikita (new)

Nikita How can Aelin fight back when she's chain up in iron? Won't that have an impact on her magic?

message 22: by Blythe (new)

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments Just like what happen on Rolfe's ship, Aelin's magic gets to a certain point that iron has no effect. Yes Aelin is hurt and injure and there is no doubt she will be hurt even more but as long as she is still living (gah! hate using that word!) her magic will grow and grow until it bubbles over and explodes. Then there will NOTHING that can stop her magic, it might severely hurt and damage her but if she is free then that helps Rowan and co. get to her faster cause he will be able to sense her magic

Nikita Blythe wrote: "Just like what happen on Rolfe's ship, Aelin's magic gets to a certain point that iron has no effect. Yes Aelin is hurt and injure and there is no doubt she will be hurt even more but as long as sh..."

Do you think Maeve will count on this given her ability to foresee things or underestimate Aelin as she didn't foresee Aelin pass on the keys to Manon? Oh why does the final book have to be so far away!?!? This is killing me!

message 24: by Nikita (new)

Nikita I hope that's the case though

message 25: by Blythe (new)

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments Yeah me too, Aelin might be younger than Meave but she is just as smart and sly. I think she will use Meave's pride and arogance against her and trick her.

message 26: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 1 comments I’m just waiting for a Rowaelin reunion! I neeeeedddd the crew to save Aelin like she saved all of them

message 27: by Blythe (new)

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments Eh I really want to see Aelin just appear in Rowan and co. camp and scare the crap out of them, it would be awesome and funny.

message 28: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmadixon11) | 23 comments I really can't wait for the Yrene/Aelin reunion either (even though it'll be Lysandra) I just think that Yrenes reaction to seeing this foriegn queen be the woman in the alley will be awesome

So far my favorite new character is Falkan.

message 32: by Alexa (new)

Alexa Ashryver (alexaashryver) | 3 comments I bought Tower of Dawn, but i just cant bring myself to read a whole book about Chaol no matter how much i bribe myself. Plus, the reviews aren't very promising either, and the rumour that Sarah J Maas has tried to insert more realistic aka whiny emotions in Chaol's POV. As is my custom, i kinda read the last chapter, which is titled Fireheart (you can guess now).
I am almost considering skipping this book entirely.
So, for those who have read this book, is it worth reading? (Besides the fact that its a SJM book and i will probably miss some plot clues.)

message 33: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (kleinrotfuchs) | 1 comments I have to be the only one who didn't really enjoy it.
I mean, I guess it's alright because I love Maas, but I don't like Chaol. The book made his character a little better but I'm still not a big fan. I found the story a little boring... Especially between Chaol and Yrene. I did enjoy Nesyrn and Sartaq's story though.
The last chapter was definitely the best part of the book.
Overall, it's my least favourite of all her books. I just need #7

100% totally agree with you. The book was not very adventure packed at all (except for Nesryn and Sartaq's story) and there were very very boring chapters (especially between Yrene and Chaol). And haha I'm a Chaol hater too. Plus I believe that Yrene deserves someone better than Chaol.
I just hope that #7 really sums it up beautifully.

Tht last chapter tho :SSSS

message 37: by Laura (new)

Laura | 71 comments Coming from someone who has always loved Chaol, I really enjoyed this book! Not only did we get to learn a lot more about Chaol and Nesryn, but we were introduced to a whole heap of new and really interesting characters. So even if you don't like Chaol, it's not all about him. There isn't quite as much action as the other books, but the action included is really intense and exciting. We also learn a LOT of vital information that Aelin could never have learnt. Perhaps it could've been condensed a little bit, but it never felt boring to me. I mean it's Maas, she always writes really well and keeps you captivated. So I'd definitely advise everybody to give it a read (even if you don't like Chaol) because it's an important and awesome book in the series. PS there are only like 126 1 star ratings and like 10,000 5 star ratings, so a lot more people love it than hate it 👍

Honestly it was an amazing book!! If you love any of Maas' writing, you will enjoy this book. I wasn't sure how I was going to like it, but it ranked extremely high for me in this book series. Now, I'm a huge Maas fan, but I would definitely recommend it!!

message 39: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth (pdcdirectorlibrary) | 14 comments I've been a Chaol fan this whole series, and also a fan of basically every character throughout this Throne of Glass awesomeness. But, a friend of mine didn't care for Chaol, and she loved the book, so I highly recommend it. It's so well written, there are so many bombshells in there, it's crazy good! Totally a must read!

message 40: by Blythe (new)

Blythe (blythe_alexandra) | 69 comments I really hope someone posts the Exclusive version of Tower of Dawn. I loved the book, the only gripe I had was the healing Chaol again stuff. I found that kinda lazy writing and like she got to that point and realized that she what she had done and used Yrene's patch for it like a bandaid. I love everything else though, I understand that some people didn't like the Nesryn and Sartaq moments because the lack of action but I liked the brief moment of less action. It was a slow growing relationship that we haven't seen in a while. All in all I thought it was a great book. Can't wait for book 7

message 41: by Esther (new)

Esther Jackson (ejjackson) I read it about a month ago and none of my other sisters or my best friend have read it yet. It was by far my favorite out of all of the TOG books. I never liked Chaol very much but in this book you just love him. And Yrene is my favorite, that is probably why I loved it so much them two are just a perfect fit.

message 42: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Garcia (jennifergarcia) | 1 comments During the series, I could take or leave Chaol. Most of the time, I hated the way he was so judgmental, but understanding his reasons made it a bit better. And he did improve a little throughout the series. I did have my reservations about ToD, but I can say that I absolutely loved it. The storyline was great and I completely fell in love with Sartaq. It was nice to read the growth in these characters and even watch them fall in love. But most of all, even if you hate Chaol, reading this book is super important... there is so much info that we didn't get in the others. Info that's needed. All in all, I thought it was a great read.

I kinda felt like that, too, 'cause I love Chaol but I don't want to read about him and then the final book got postponed and I do not like this at all. But I did start reading this and I really do love it. I haven't finished it though.

message 44: by canela (new)

canela | 14 comments So who liked it? Because I was going to buy it but then i heard that its really slow and that nothing really happens except for chaol's and nesryn's romance and his recovery so now i don't know. HELP!

message 45: by Esther (new)

Esther Jackson (ejjackson) BUY IT! It is my favorite out of all of the series. It makes you love Carol so much, and he finds an amazing love interest!

Sorry, I know it probably wasn't your fault- BUT I FREAKING HATE AUTOCORRECT. IT ALWAYS RUINS THE BEST NAMES. whoever created it didn't prepare for SJM names.
