Read 17 books for this challenge but bought 9 new ones. 9 book gain because I read one that I bought.

So I was just looking at this challenge today and I am really happy with my book buying this year. So far I have only bought 44 books which is really low for me. On top of that 32 of those books were on sale when I bought them. From the beginning of the year until mid-August when audible had a huge sale I only bought 12 books and I have already read 11 of those. I bought 27 books from the audible sale(12 of those my sister bought) and 5 since. Of those I have read 6 with another 10 planned for this month. Going to try to get all of my 2018 purchases read this year.

Yeah I’m really happy with it. Keeping this list has kept me much more aware of my needless buying.

That's such a great strategy. That way you're at least not adding to the issue haha. I have a personal rule that I need to have read the book before I bring it home, or if it's not a available though audio or library, then I have to read it as soon as I buy it.

Of course, when book outlet has their annual Black Friday sale and I can get all the things $3 or cheaper, I buy like 30 (with no intention of reading them soon haha). I'm sensing a flaw to my strategy with this... but at least it's once a year lmao.

Good luck though - I think you can totally make it down to 0 by the end of the year. :)

Thanks. It is a good plan but If I do manage it it will be the first time I have. My best laid plans never seem to work out for long.

Those big sales always get me too. I think another big reason I have been able to resist buying too many books is that I have a great library system and have started using Hoopla to supplement it this year.

Lol my plan didn’t even last the month. I bought 24 credits so I can get the rest of my Incomplete series done. So far I bought books 6-11 in the Drenai saga and books 2-4(got book 5 in a sale) in the Heartstrikers series. Trying not to grab too many at once so after I’m done with those 2 series I can get more.

I just passed the halfway point for the books I have bought this year. Now sitting at 34 out of 66.

I bought another 4 books in the audible sale yesterday and got a $5 coupon so it will end up being 5. Two are continuations of series I had the first book for and the other 2 are standalones.
