Mayim de Vries | 2948 comments My standards are all over the place but I firmly believe in positive reinforcements. :D My mother taught me that with a word of encouragement everybody can rule the world. :D

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments Well, world domination has always been a life goal of mine. And when I rule the world, chocolate will cause weight loss. :-)

Mayim de Vries | 2948 comments When you do that, I can be your PA. We can co-chocolate or something. :)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments It's a deal!

message 55: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments I finished Round 3, read three old and three newer books from my already-own-it stack of books. This time I managed to limit myself to only buying two new books but one of them I blame on Mayim because...The Curse of Chalion.

Great job! How has it been picking from old and new? Part of me feels like it would be fun to actually focus on books I've been hoarding the longest lol.

message 57: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments It's working out pretty good so far especially because some of those books that I've owned the longest just don't sound all that appealing anymore. :-)

Have many gotten the boot? :)

message 59: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments Weeelllllll...technically they're still there. I should box them all up and either donate them or take to Half Price for reselling. Mostly they're books in genres I lost interest in, i.e. cozy mysteries and romances. I'm really not planning on ever reading the romances. I bought them back when I was trying them out to see if I'd find the right one to flick the switch on my interest but now I know it's just a genre that doesn't interest me at all.

Miche | 3279 comments Great job, Veronica!

Next year I might try something similar.

Haha "technically" is good enough for me. All of my "boot-worthy" books are also in a box. But they're off the shelves, so I'm happy lol.

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Good plan with the old books Veronica. I think I'm gonna follow it too. And you also got so many great ones in sale! I wouldn't have resisted either for those prices. :)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments I'm getting back to this after not tracking it for awhile (I actually forgot about it). I filled out my round 4 and so I purchased a new book, The Queen of Bedlam, which is actually the first book I've bought in about a month.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments Halfway through round five. Finished my three "new" books (owned less than a year), now have to read three old, owned books.

"New": What the Dead Leave Behind, The Circus Fire: a True Story, Extinction Horizon
