Having travelled by train, Erza and Jenares soon arrived at a small village which wasnt for from Magnolia Town and stepping out of the train, Jenares looked around to see if he could find any traces of the monser which he fought against a few hours ago. Looking at Erza he said: "The first time I approached the monser, was near the west. I hope we can still find him, because the mayor of the town told me once the monser goes back to his own place, there is no way we can go after it."

Erza shook her head. "For wizards, there is always a way. To the west, you say?" She shouldered her armor, adjusting it, and headed in the general direction.

((Changed the title of our topic a bit))

Jenares nodded, wondering why the mayor would say something like that anyway and following her, he held one hand close to his sword so he could act quickly in case they get attacked.

Meanwhile though, not really far from them, a group of dark wizards were hiding in a cave, nearby a giant lake, counting large amount of Jewels and while counting, a man walked inside which seemed to be the leader of the group and dropping some stolen things from the nearby village, he looked at one of the mages, saying: "Did the monster took care of that little wimp? I guess he now either sleeps at the bottom of lake or ran home straight to his mommy. ", drinking some bottle of whiskey."

Arriving at the lake, Jenares looked at Erza and asked: "Can you see anything?"

((I don't know how I feel about turning a simple D-Class mission that is required and recorded as a D-Class into a more valuable mission just for the heck of it. We should expect the people in the group to follow the same standards that we do, right?))

Erza shrugged, then slashed multiple times at the water in a lightning array of speed. The water sloshed at least ten feet in the air, broken into hundreds of perfect cubes of water in an instant. Slashed fish and seaweed spewed forth. The very air waves from her blades had done devastating damage. She was, after all, trying to destroy or call out the monster. Erza was sure she could handle it.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

((Yes, you are actually right. I will edit my last post then. As for people in the group though, Any ideas for making the group more active?))

((Okay. I don't know; there are so many FT groups that this blends into the woodworks, I'm sure.))

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

((Yes. I actually hoped that the new rank system would bring people rp'ing here more active, but so far not really :( ))

Altough Erza's attack didnt striked the monster directly, he was badly damaged and being furious, the octopus went deeper inside the lake, attacking them from suprise as with his large tentacles, he grabbed them around Jenares' legs, trying to drag him into the lake and as Jenares fell, he shouted for help, quickly slamming his sword into the ground so he couldnt be dragged in so easily.

Hearing a loud explotion out of the cave, the leader looked up and being armed, he walked outside of the cave, growling as he noticed that the 'wimp' returned, but he trembled at the sight at Erza as he heard of course of the famous and very strong "titania", knowing as well that only a mere glare from her is enough to make a man tremble in fear. Quickly going back inside before they could see him, he quickly called to his men: "Gather everything we stole from the village and leave through the other side of the mine!", hoping they could escape in time, knowing they had to leave the monster behind and that they had to take the risk as well that the real mayor could be found.

((Same. I was hoping pretty much the exact same thing.))

Erza raised her eyebrows, folding her arms curiously as Jenares was snatched by a gigantic beast with enormous tentacles. It reminded her of something she'd read in a surprisingly secret tome that she had donated immediately after reading. The thought was pretty stupid and gross, but it still made her smile. She stepped up lightly, requipping immediately to Heaven's Wheel, one of her go-to pieces of armor, and shooting like a pigeon to where Jenares was. The wheel of blades spun madly, removing the end of the tentacle. Neither of them could possibly suspect that the real mayor was missing unless somebody told them... For it was just a monster slaying quest, right?

Luckily, the Mayor's daughter had hidden from the scoundrels. She hadn't managed to speak to Jenares before, but now she would definitely speak to them both! ...After the fight, of course.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Having removed the end of the tentacle, Jenares was freed and quickly standing up, he drew his sword out of the ground, quickly thanking Erza while attacking the creature with air pressures attacks as eventually, the monsters tentacles began to lie in a knot, making the monster unable to move and as this was the perfect moment to finish of the monster, Jenares said to Erza: "Erza, now!", as the monster was now almost completely on the surface, making all of his weak spots visible.

message 10: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza nodded. The whole thing was a weak spot. It was nothing to a mage like her. These villagers would be feasting on sushi for as long as the flesh was able. Swords flashing, she dealt a hundred cuts in a span of seconds.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

((I just wish we could think on something though to make our group active.))

In just a few seconds, the monster was cut in pieces and smiling at Erza, Jenares was happy they managed to defeat the monster, only if they would know though that the mission was not over yet as he noticed a girl walking towards them, seeing that she was quite worried, feeling like she was not going to bring good news to them.

message 12: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((Arc?))

Erza nodded in satisfaction. Maybe she shouldn't have dealt with the monster for the boy. He might need some more instruction.

The girl approached anxiously. "They were using the monster," she began, not knowing how to appropriately start, "They took my daddy..."

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

((That could work.))

Maybe she shouldn't have indead, but on the other hand Jenares did watch her how she dealt with the monster, seeing her moves, her fighting skills etc. So it was quite useful that she still joined him on this mission though.

"Using the monster? Took your daddy? What do you...", Jenares said, knowing enough already as he quickly began to look around, realising why the 'mayor', which he first encountered was so weird and quickly holding the girl in his arms as she started to cry he said: "Dont worry. We will find your daddy.", not knowing though were they could be at the moment.

message 14: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((I just orchestrated one. Do you have an idea?))

Erza stroked the girl's hair. She was already crying and rubbing at her eyes. "It was a fake mayor. They locked up my family. They took my dad, and they took him to the lake, in one of the tunnels," she said, not going to blubber when she could help more than chatter.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

((Not now so far, but maybe we can send out a call fof activity with the request for a story arc?))

"Dont worry. We will find your dad and your family!", Jenares said, still comforting her before asking: "Do you know where the tunnels are?"

message 16: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She pointed. Not all kids were useless sobbers. She'd dried up her tears days ago. "They probably saw all the fight."

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Looking at the direction the girl pointed at, he could see a small tunnel entrace and looking back at the girl he said: "Then they must be still be around here somewhere.", admiring the girls strenght that she tried to help them, but not wanting that she will be in danger he said: "Can you go back to a safe place in the village in the mean time we are looking for your father? Because going in there might be dangerous."

After she agreed, he and Erza went into the tunnels and being inside, they could see multiple ways as they were about to walk into a maze. Seing trash lying around on the ground, Jenares said to Erza: “I guess this was once a mine. The dark wizards must have used this as a hiding place. Now usually, a mine should have another entrance so people could escape in case the mine would collapse. Which way should we should try taking first?”

Meanwhile, at the other entrance of the mine, the group of bandits had already gathered everything they stole and as the leader was in a bad mood he spit on the ground while shouting: “Where is that lazy Cole? He should have brought the vehicle an hour ago! Come on lads. We need to get this to the trainstation before she will find us!”, refering to Erza only as after all, she was the wizard which was trully a threat to him. Again, she was not for nothing being called: “Titania” and she was absolutely not a women to face once she goes to battle. Her strenght, her magic. Only thinking about it made him nauseous. Especially of the fact she defeated 100 monsters during the Grand Magic Games. Losing his patience he quickly looked back to the entrance, hoping they could escape in time.

The girl nodded. "I'm coming with you!" she protested. Her father was in danger! She was going to help, she knew it! Erza didn't seem to care much for the plan, or any plan. "She may come if she is sure she can protect herself," she shrugged.

The girl did eventually go, at his urging, and very unhappily. Erza still seemed to not care much about it. "We should try to run through them, fast, and see if we can't catch up with them with luck. Unless you can track?" Maybe if they were quiet, she could hear them well!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"I can see some footprints here. Lets fellow it.", Jenares said, following it while Jenares actually felt a bit guilty for sending the girl away as he knew that he would have done the same in her place. But still, it was too dangerous as he couldnt risk that the girl could be captured too,

After following the trace for a while, they could see a light and being at the other side of the mine, he saw the group of dark mages standing at a big vehicle which was just about to leave.

message 20: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza agreed with Jenares's professional manner. The girl had protected herself thus far; she hoped she could trust the child to protect herself a little longer. She smiled at Jenares. "Nice work out there," she reassured.

By the time they exited, the light was streaming down. Erza cursed. "Hurry," she insisted, "Attack their escape vehicle!" They really were almost out of time! Titania broke into a sprint, summoning a great sword, one twice the height of the young mage. She leaped, swinging it in a great arc down at the vehicle.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thanks Erza. You were great as well!", Jenares smiled as when they arrived at the end of the tunnel, he could see the group of bandits wanting to escape with their vehicale as he nodded at Erza: "I will, but we must not let the vehicle explode as the kidnapped mayor could be inside it!", swinging his sword, creating a strong air slash attack along with Erza's attack in a result that they destroyed the wheels of the vehicle, breaking them as the vehicle could not now not ride anymore.

Cursing and yelling at the other bandits, the leader quickly got themselves guns as he knew that using magic had no use and they began to shoot at them, especially at Erza.

message 22: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza nodded, curious at how this boy had anticipated the correct sword slash. Not an amateur swordsman would have been able to create such a blow. He did have talent, she finally admitted. Erza requipped into a more defensive armor, tossing Jenares her shield. She lurched forward, fist connecting with skulls in quick succession.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Catching her shield, Jenares defended himself and as the bullets couldn't get through Erza's armor and shield, the bandits quickly tried to escape but after Erza's strong fist strokes, they dropped their weapons, most of them being unconscious and trying an final attempt to escape, the leader tried to ran away but was soon hit as Jenares threw Erza's huge and heavy sword towards him as in a result he lay down on the ground, both swords of Erza and Jenares being pointed at his throat and seeing no other option anymore he quickly raised his hands in the air, screaming: "All right! All right! I surrender!"

message 24: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((I am. I'm sorry. My RPs are spread over multiple devices.))

Erza was very alarmed at how Jenares toom control of the situation. With a strong mage as a safety net, he performed much better than he'd advertised, maybe from confidence that she'd protect him. "Where is the mayor?" She asked calmly.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

((Its okay.))

"Inside the car...", the dark wizard said while defeat was still on his face and as Jenares opened the door by breaking lock with his sword, he could see the mayor lying inside, being tied up so that he couldn't try to escape.

Helping him getting out of the car, they went back to the village and there, the girl jumped into his fathers arms as even while she was very brave and didn't cried, she was very worried. Soon the army would arive to arrest the group of wizards and some of them were very angry, blaming eachother as one said to their leader: "Once we get out, you better promise us a share of what was the right to be ours!"

"Well I already gave you a share which is zero!", the leader shouted before he was taken away along with the rest. After they were taken away, the mayor thanked both of them for defeating the monster in the lake and rescueing him from the dark wizards. But mainly he was thanking Erza, but that was more since of course she is a famous S-class wizard, being well known for her skills and strenght.

After they got the reward, they decided to go back to the guild and while on their way to the train, Jenares handed over the half of the amount of Jewels they got and said: "Here is your half of our reward. Thank you so much Erza. You really gave me confidence.".

message 26: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza shook her head. "I was monitoring Jenares's quest. These actions were his, not mine. You have him to thank for saving your village and home." She knelt and took the young girl's hand, then the father's. "You are both brave, clever people. Thank you for remaining strong for your family and your people." She herself cuffed the criminals over the heads, a mighty punishment on its own. She smirked at Jenares and rolled her eyes. "I don't need the extra stuff," she advised, "You can keep the reward. It was my pleasure to accompany you."

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

The mayor nodded and looking over at Jenares he said: "Thank you so much for your help Jenares. I dont know how to repay you!" as Jenares started to blush a bit but smiling at him he said: "Thank you sir. It is a great honor for me and my partner Erza that we could be of service to you and your village and our greatest reward is that you are all safe!".

As Erza declined a share of their reward, Jenares blushed a bit but as Erza had a determined face for which she is well known for, he softly smiled and said: "Then let me atleast treat you on something you like once we are back at the guild."

message 28: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
"Treating me may take half your reward money," she smirked, envisioning cake.

message 29: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((Gee, that's really contrived.))

Erza walked past the cake shop. She had enough of those cakes to last her a week, all packed away and preserved carefully. "Let's stop somewhere else," she offered, wanting something a little different, maybe a little rarer than just a bunch of cakes. Besides, it wasn't like she wanted to flaunt that she ate cake like a pig in front of every person who entered the guild. She didn't care that much, but she wanted her reward to be more than just a polite slice. That would almost cheapen the experience. "There's an antique shop across the street; it looks interesting."

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

((Sorry. I thought that the envisioning cake thing was a hint.))

Having arrived at Magnolia Town, Jenares nodded at her and said: "Sure.", following her and looking at the antique shop he smiled at her: "Then lets have a look!", walking inside and seeing quite beautiful items inside.

message 31: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((My bad. DX I was hinting, but then it seemed contrived that they happened upon the favorite shop so perfectly, so I wanted to switch things up.))

Some were almost terrifying! There were old trophies and knives and weapons, and all sorts of antique armor or garb. Some of the tools were interesting, to say the least, and the jewelry was more unique than modern styles.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

((Oh okay xD Its fine though :D))

"Do you see anything you like?", Jenares asked her while still looking around, finding some items interesting althoughg there was a lot of garbage as well he had to admit. Still, he was thinking that it was better to not buy anything himself as he needed his reward to pay the rent of apartment which to be honest isnt even enough yet.

message 33: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She ran her hand along the jewelry case. "Yes," she admitted, seeing a pair of earrings that looked similar to hers, but were embossed with pearl inlay. "Actually, I do."

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

"Would you like to have any of these jewelry?", Jenares asked as she ran her hand along the jewelry case, noticing that she admired the earrings in which he had admit that they are quite beautiful indeed.

message 35: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She nodded. "I believe those earrings will be sufficient payment for my aid in your endeavors." She didn't gush or anything. She wasn't of that sort.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

"Very well. I shall buy them for you then", Jenares nodded, getting the earrings and once he bought them for her, he gave them back to her.

message 37: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She bobbed her head once. "Then, as our mission is completed, I hope you enjoy your time in Fairy Tail, and perhaps more appropriately understand the strength and creativity required to complete more dangerous missions." She was ready to go on her way, it seemed.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

"I really enjoyed my time and I have no doubt I will as well do in the future. And yes, I will try my best and I thank you so much for helping me on this quest. It really gave me courage.", Jenares nodded with a serious tone, gently bowing his face a little while knowing that they are ready to go on their own ways.

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza nodded curtly. Their parting was oddly cold and formal, she thought, inwardly feeling awkward.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Their parting was indeed a bit cold and formal and leaving Erza without much words, Jenares went back to his apartment, having a relaxed expression on his face.

He had to admit hat he did kinda like Erza and that she didn't appeared to be as scary as people told them to. She was however when she beated up Natsu for messing up her cake, but he thought she is a strong, honorable and wonderful woman.

As such, he hoped that his departure from her wasn't too odd as he is never good at both introducing and saying goodbye and although he was a kind and mature man, he is also mostly reserved as such that he didn't really associate with people, wanting to be alone for most of the time, especially after the loss of his dear brother Wesley.

But after his first encounter with her, something inside him did made him feel awkward as if he would soon warm up to people.

message 41: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza soon forgot the awkward feeling, however. He was just a guild member, and they'd just participated in a quest together. There was no shame or horror in admitting that. With a slight yawn, she headed back to her apartments to get some rest.

Erza appeared at the forest, drawing a simple sword. She was going to do some basic stances and forms, and she didn't want to destroy anything valuable on accident.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

She would soon hear some noises as near a lake, Jenares was practising some stances, using a sort of an old katana.

Well, they weren't very loud or powerful noises. She thought a child must be playing in that direction, and headed the opposite way. Erza was cold!
