Soon, the noises were getting loud as he began to charge his magic and releasing some sharp air pressure attacks.

She thought they were the echoes of her own thunderous stances and slashes.

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

Atleast, Jenares would take some rest and walking over to Erza's direction, he wanted to sat down at a tree but then he noticed Erza doing quite impressive stances and slashes and waiting for a moment she stopped he greeted her and said: "Oh, good morning Erza. I see you are also doing some practising. They look impressive.".

((I am being a pain. XD))

It was odd that he'd come to rest where there was such cacophony, but that was no matter. She raised her eyebrows as she took him in. Had he followed her? Probably not, but she still felt odd about it. "Good morning. Thank you."

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

((You are teasing me are you? xD))

He didnt say anything for a few seconds as he didn’t knew to approach her right so with a soft smile he said: “A lovely morning to train right? I was doing some stances and sword skills at the river.

message 56: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((Maybe a little. XD))

"You're a long ways from the river. I think I heard you when I came by." She usually practiced at the river. She might need to find a more private spot, she considered remorsefully.

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

((Please dont do that XD *puppy eyes*))

“That could be possible as I thought I saw someone walking neaby.”, Jenares said still softly smiling a bit and not knowing why he asked this he said: “ W-would you like to train together?”

message 58: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
((Muahahaaa))

She sighed, seeming a little reluctant. She would definitely need to hold back. She didn't want to kill him, after all. She wouldn't get anything done! "It is probably better for you if I practice alone."

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

((Argh! Dx))

"A-are you sure? I know you are much stronger and experienced than me, but I thought that since we are both sword users, it would be fun if we could practise together. But I thank you for your concern and I accept your decision. Have a great training Erza.", Jenares said in a polite tone, slowly walking back to the lake.

message 60: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She felt bad. He was taking the dismissal very hard, she could tell. "Wait," she groaned, "Why don't you show me what you can do."

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Turning around, Jenares then looked back at her and giving a slight nod, he said: "Sure.", performing some stanced and sword skills, mainly using the air pressure to create pretty strong attacks. Although it didn't seemed that he was unexperienced, it was obviously to see that he still had much to grow, but he tried to perform his skills as best as he could.

message 62: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
His air wasn't quite sharp. It was bludgeoning, not slicing. "Here," she advised, stepping closer, "When you slice at the air, the sword must be thin, it must be smooth. It must not waver. You are cutting at a molecule-sheet-thin layer of air and sending it shooting forward as an extension of your blade. Try it, slowly, then quickly. Focus on the control."

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

He blushed a bit, but following her advice he thanked her and getting his word thin, creating anohter slice, more controlled this time and one time he would do it slowly and the other time more quickly.

message 64: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
The slice hacked a chunk out of a tree. "Good," she praised, "Your distance and strength improved," she appraised. "Try again."

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thanks Erza.", Jenares said with a soft smile, getting more courage and slicing down at the ground, many leaves would dance in the sky and focussing on them, he charged his magic, repeating the slices as they would hit the leaves, the leaves shattering in the sky.

message 66: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She raised her eyebrows. He was improving in speed, if not strength. "Good job," she pointed out. "You use your magic for this, so be aware of your remaining power and the exertion you use."

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

"I will.", Jenares said, continuing to repeat these attacks as he tried to control his magic carefully as he didn't want to cause much damage to the trees around him.

message 68: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza decided an example couldn't hurt. She swung her blade casually, almost slowly, taking down two trees.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Watching how she swung her blade, Jenares then tried to do the same and as she took down two trees, he would take one tree down as well.

He was using his magic carefully, but he did felt that he was improving his swordman skills.

message 70: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She worked with contemptuous ease. She nodded at his try, then stretched out her shoulders. How much magic did he actually have remaining, she wondered.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

He did had much magic remaining as he do have a large amount of magic. It is his strenght and agility though which needs to be trained most.

Having repeat these attacks he then looked over to Erza and said: "Am I doing well so far?"

message 72: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She nodded her head. "Very well. You learn quickly." How long would it take him to master the technique, though, she wondered? To use it seamlessly and perfectly in the dance of swords?

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

Jenares surely need some time before he could master the techniques, but as long the importnant thing is that he keep practising them. Having taken some trees down, Jenares would thank her and sharpen his blade even more and increasing his magical strenght, he swang his blade so fast that a giant air pressure came out of the slash, cutting one big tree down.

message 74: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza nodded, applauding briefly. "You're doing very well," she pointed out, tilting her head to one side. "You have powerful strength."

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

He blushed a bit by the compliment and nodding back he said with a small smile: "Thank you Erza. I do think too that I have indeed some strenght, but I'm also sure that I got lots too learn.", a small blush appearing on his cheeks as he didn't wanted to boast about himself.

message 76: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza nodded quietly, thoughtfully. "Yes, you are strong, and yes, you have much to learn." There was no way he'd reach her level easily, but she knew he could gain power through years of hard training.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

He nodded again and altough he was still blushing a bit, a soft smile appeared on his face and thinking of what he or they could practise next he then had an idea and asked: "Would you like to spar with me?"

message 78: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Goodness, he was blushing like crazy! She sighed to herself, shaking her head. "I suppose I can spare time to spar," she said, against her better judgement.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thank you. I will try to stay on my guard and do best.", Jenares said, waiting for her to allow him to get started and darting foreward, he would slash his sword towards her middle, making sure that the blade wouldn't hit her sword neither too high or too close as that could take him out of balance.

message 80: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She let him take the first swing, directly at her sword. He didn't aim for the height of her sword, which was a rookie mistake. By manipulating the tip of her blade, he could use the length, the leverage, against her, bunt the blade aside, and take advantage of the opening... hypothetically. She blocked it with strength, keeping his blade still, ramrod stone, the instant it touched her weapon. The gentle, quick flick of her wrist dispersed the force so her arm wouldn't jar at his force, and she disengaged, sweeping the blade up and about, beating at his tip, then slashing at his center. She moved more slowly than usual, sluggish for Erza, to let him see how she would defeat him.

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

Hypothetically it was a mistake yes, but by hitting it at the center first she had to guess if he would either move his sword down to the hilt or to the tip of her blade. By this, he dont want his moves to be predictable but as Erza's blade would move her blade up and starts beating at his tip, he still tried to focus and when she would slash down towards his center he leant foreward and trying to push back which was very hard as Erza's was incredibbly strong, he stepped aside, moving his sword towards the ground as Erza's blade would now hit the tip of his again and stepping in front of her again, he would now try taking dvantage by hitting her hilt.

message 82: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
That was a stupid move. It just was. In allowing her to hit the very tip of his blade, she gained all the leverage. It didn't hurt that she was far, far stronger than him physically, too. He couldn't budge her an inch, and his sword flashed wildly, recoiled by its own flailing attacks. He needed more focus on the leverage of the game, not just the dance. She was leading, not he. His blade wasn't even in contact with Erza's blade long enough to push back. She let him try, then sidestepped, simultaneously stepped forward, and mimicked impaling him. She frowned. "You need practice," she pointed out. He assumed that all she would do was aim for hitting his sword, but Erza was more than just the tip of her blade. "You assume that my target is the sword. You also assume that my only action is to try to attack your sword to keep it at bay. In doing so, you abandon all forms of self defense and leave yourself open for attack. You lack balance."

((Fairy Tail is all about powerful emotions, heh.))

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

((I know, but I mean that he fights with dark thoughts. Like that he doesnt have control of his emotions. Edited the last lines.))

It was very stupid indeed and all of his movements seemed to be completely usesless. Even while he is in-experienced, he should have known better, but what made him being so uncertain again? After all, he did do a good job once he defeated the group of wizards. What makes him lacking his defence, his control, his focus, everything?

The answer is that there is a hidden fear inside him. And not only fear, but a deep anger as well. By focussing only on her blade he is only afraid that she would hurt him while the ironic thing is indeed that he lacking all of his defences by doing so, but what is the cause of his fear? Obviously, it had to do with something in the past. Yes, something terrible had happend and he would surely not speak of it, atleast not yet.

Again, mostly its because that he is in-experienced and nodding with an ashamed face he said: "I-ill try better..", trying to focus again and shaking a bit he would whisper a name and attacking at speed now, he would hit against her sword, combining it with some martial arts as such that he would made a somersault over her and quickly trying to hit her in the back, but once again he made a big mistake as he was now being guided by his emotions. Now using emotions isnt trully bad, but he doesnt have control of it. The fear, the anger was overwhelming him, making his attacks rather reckless.

message 85: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
Erza sighed. He was putting all he could into attacking her. She didn't know his past, his fears, anything. She knew what he was doing wrong physically, not emotionally. Her target in his somersault was his sword this time. By pressing her blade against his, she could keep him at bay throughout the strike, rotating with her wrist to face him in his new direction. "Good," she smiled, beating his weapon back and forth, trying to jar his hand slightly to force an opening.

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thanks. I will try to do more better though.", Jenares said panting a bit and clashing his sword against hers, he tried to take control of the battle by fighting on speed, his blade making fast movements but even then he noticed that his sword art skills dont match to hers.

message 87: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She was swift, steady, constant. He was rather good, but she wouldn't feign weakness to give him a fake sense of ability to match her. "I have you," she urged, "You will be fine, but I will help you train from this point on." She whacked his blade away, then pointed her own at his throat.

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

"Thanks a lot Erza. You trully have great sword skills.", Jenares said with a soft smile, accepting his defeat. He knew of course that Erza could fight way and way more better and dangerous, but still he was much impressed.

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She lowered her sword. "Get some water. I'll run you through some basic stances from Enca." She was definitely going to push him, and push him hard.

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

"I will.", Jenares said nodding, standing up and after he got some water he returned to her and asked: "I'm ready to start.", waiting for her to give him instructions, paying all attention to her.

He knew that she would push him hard. The guildmembers already warned him that she is definitely not a lady which will hold back. No matter what. Still though, he would try to obey in all she asks and requests from him.

message 91: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She set him going, demonstrating the basic form. Actually... it was surprisingly easy. She was showing him beginner steps. It would be foolish for a teacher to demonstrate the hardest forms and then expect perfection. He needed to learn.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

As she began demonstrating the basics, Jenares would try them himself and although he made some slight mistakes, he did manage to perform most of the stances correctly.

message 93: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She was a good teacher, surprisingly. She didn't show much patience after a while, but she was great at describing and explaining what to do. It wasn't much, but she was broadening his horizons.

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

After a while, Jenares finally had control of the basics and while exercising them he did admire Erza as even though the moves she was teaching him now are simple, she talked and explained them to him tike she was one with the art of the swordmanship. Like she understands every single detail of what it is to be a swordfighter.

message 95: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
He did pick up quickly! She kept fixing his form and getting him to do it right. What would have taken a normal pupil weeks to learn, he was already practicing and attempting. He was a good fighter... he just needed training.

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

Jenares was glad that he was learning quickly. He was a good fighter indeed, but it was also due that Erza explained him all basics to him so well. After an hour has passed, Jenares finally learned most of the basics and looking over to Erza he asked: "I think I have most of the basics now.", showing gratitude to her for learning him all this.

message 97: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She clicked her tongue. He was barely picking all of it up, really, but he was moving fast. "We'll work more on it later," she said meaningfully, raising an eyebrow.

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

((I actually meant most of the basics she was teaching him now. My mistake xD))

Okay. Picking all of it might be a bit optimistic, but atleast he did perform most of the basics she was teaching him now. He still had to train and practise them often before he would master them, but the main thing was that he did was moving fast indeed.

Nodding at Erza he put his sword away and offering themselves some water he said with a soft smile: "Thanks for helping me with training Erza. You are a good teacher.".

message 99: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 175 comments Mod
She nodded, as if that was typical. "Thank you." She knew she was a good teacher. If she wasn't, she'd probably accidentally kill her pupils. She had low standards.

message 100: by [deleted user] (new)

He nodded back at her and not really knowing what they should do next he asked: "Is, is there anything else we could do next or shall we go back to the guild?"
