FYI - Technically Dandelion Wine is the first book in a series of which Something Wicked This Way Comes is the second. However, they can be read independently of each other and nothing missed.

Yeah, Ginger! I can now discuss this bit with you (view spoiler)[ I was shocked by the ending! Not expecting a cliffhanger. Now, it may be because I did not realize that this book tied back into Pendergast, but I am pretty sure they don't discuss any resolution to the storyline in Pendergast (at least as far as I am in the series). Then, Beyond the Ice Limit is the 4th book in an entirely different series (the Gideon Crew series). These guys have so much story intertwined, it is amazing! (hide spoiler)]

I was caught off-guard with this ending as well! Have you guys read the description of Beyond the Ice Limit yet? The one thing that has me confused (don't read this spoiler if you're skipping reading the description before reading the book. I do that most of the time, but couldn't resist it this time) (view spoiler)[ is they talk about Eli Glinn being alive in that one. There was no way he survived going down with the Rolvaag and the meteorite. I'm very curious how they try to explain that. (hide spoiler)]

Regarding Gideon Crew - I have not read any of them yet. I actually did not think they are in the Pendergast universe, but If Beyond The Ice Limit is truly a sequel to this, it must be!

I eventually plan to read the Gideon Crew series, but not sure when. And, I guess I will be in the dark on this cliffhanger for a while a

Not sure . . . I listened to the audiobook and there is an epilogue where (view spoiler)[ they mention something (and I cannot quite remember the wording) about a severely injured man, maybe they mention him by name, but fitting his description, getting on a boat and headed back to the Ice Limit with the crew to finish the job on the alien meteor (hide spoiler)]

Also, here is the real big spoiler - click at your own risk (view spoiler)[Glinn and his organization are in the next Pendergast series and he is in bad shape. That's how I knew he survives. And, until I read The Ice Limit, I was not sure why he was in such bad shape! (hide spoiler)]

Ahh, that epilogue is not in my copy of The Ice Limit. I bet they added that (view spoiler)[ after they decided to bring him back in the next one. That kinda explains it. I went back to that chapter in my version, and the last time we see Glinn, he's in the tank with the meteorite when it tears loose, and then it said that the scene vaporized in a flash of bright, brilliant light. I figured he was either going down in the ship or vaporized. Interesting... (hide spoiler)]

Interesting - I cannot confirm this, but from some internet searches it appears that the epilogue was not in early releases and was eventually published on their website. Later it made it into audio and kindle releases. Maybe print releases, too? Looks like if you have a copy/edition of the book released prior to 2010, it may not have it. I am still trying to confirm this. Perhaps they added it to prepare for the release of the sequel?

Looks like the copy I read was from 2006, with a new cover added for a 2016 printing. Even with that epilogue (view spoiler)[ I would not think he could have survived unless they changed the end of that other chapter too. Oh well, no big difference when it's all good anyway! (hide spoiler)]

FYI - I started Gideon's Sword and, without saying too much spoilerish, seems like The Ice Limit is a loosely connected prequel to this series. That kind of makes sense, though, if book 4 of the Gideon Crew series is the sequel to The Ice Limit.

I am enjoying it so far - it just doesn't feel quite the same. Which, is probably a good thing if they are trying to do another series.

Now, I am just waiting for Pendergast to show up, too!
