Hello UNTITLED members,

it is time to announce our SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER read of 2017!
The great thing about UNTITLED is, that we focus on topics that matter in our society, in political systems, in history, health, science, gender equality and many more.

There are so many wonderful, thought-provoking books all published in 2017 and it was so hard to narrow down all the choices to one book only but here it is:

Exit West by Mohsin Hamid

Mohsin Hamid has proved himself a writer able to speak directly of and to the moment. Exit West is no exception. It's a timely novel about refugees playing out against a global migrant crisis and yet the lyrical prose prevents the story from becoming too heavy.

If you love reading the first sentence in a book as much as me then here's a sneak peak:

“In a city swollen by refugees but still mostly at peace, or at least not yet openly at war, a young man met a young woman in a classroom and did not speak to her.”

Whom are we prepared to leave behind in our own pursuit of happiness? Whom are we able to care for, whom are we willing to care for, and why are our answers to those questions so rarely the same?

I can't wait to read Exit West with all of you!
Grab a copy in your local bookstore or in your favourite online shop and join the discussion. Feel free to start new topics in the folder Sep/Oct read: Exit West .

Happy reading! :)
