I just bought the third book in the series but I don't own any others. Can you read them out of order or do you have to read them chronologically to understand what's going on?

Oh sorry Sam I had not looked at your profile......I have 2 separate posts on Frankenstein in my in box here....maybe the app duplicated it
It's no big deal....Mary was just confused where her comment went.....she and I agree....you need to read the Frankenstein books in order!!!:D
I just finished the 5th book, did all 5 in a row and I have to say, very underwhelmed. So little effort went into the Victor character(s), and I thought they could have easily been the most interesting part of the books. There were some fun characters however, just thought that there should have been more focus on Frankenstein. I could go on, but don't want to put out too many spoilers.
So, I am conflicted. Should I continue the series at book 4 and 5? I was so underwhelmed by book 3, I didn't like it that much, and I have heard horrible things about books 4 and 5. Are they worth reading?
I am glad I read all the books.....but the series is not as good as other books by DK..... The characters in Frankenstein kept me interested

If you didn't like book three, you are not likely to enjoy books 4 and 5. I liked book 3 myself because I love Jocko!

I agree.....the 1st 2 books are good but then it just fell apart story wise for me.... David I guess u should stop if u didn't like book 3.....try another DK book
The first 2 books were done in collaboration with Kevin J. Anderson and the plan was to bring the story to television. Koontz has had a hard time working with others on projects like this so it was amazing that he was able to get the Odd Thomas Film done.
There was such a long and much anticipated wait for book 3 after books 1 & 2 and many readers had high expectations. I am worried about the same thing happening when/if Book 3 of the Christopher Snow series is finally published, because that has been even more hyped up with anticipation and high expectations. I guess we'll see.
The Frankenstein Series also had an issue where there was only going to be the 3 books and then Koontz got a contract for 7. The reception for follow up books wasn't as expected and there ended up being 5. It was pretty crazy as I recall.
Book 5 was released straight to paperback rather than hardcover which frustrated book collectors who had been collecting the hardcover editions.

You are right Dustin....the TV series on the books was not well received by Dean and he took himself off the show....he went on with the books but they really were not as good as the 1st two....I don't think the same thing would happen in the Chris Snow story because he tied it into Watchers and that is seriously cool !!!
